Health / My Icecream Story by saltoftheearth0(f): 6:22am On Dec 22, 2015
Till I'm allowed to start posting in the food section I feel this is next best section to share some of my ideas and food journey/passion, I may even share how it all started but for now lets stick to recipes and the stories behind every dish.

Recently I started making my own icecream and the experience has been awesome so far. I have even added it to my menu and made a couple of bucks with it. How did that happen?

Im always itchy for new recipes.
I went out the other day and the harmattan sun was hot I decided to get some icecream. And what I got was a total mess so I started researching on how to make the creamiest icecream because that's how I like it.

Then I stumbled on something. Its a packaged icecream powder in a sachet.

I got like two sachets to start with. Did not want to buy plenty out of excitement incase It doesn't turn out perfect. Got home on went through the instructions and made. It was the creamiest icecream I had ever tasted in naija... But there was something missing I could still feel it no matter how nice it still tasted.

So I went into thinking. I though of how I could incorporate other things to it to give it a nice body, texture and also make it look beautiful. I though of adding heavy or double cream to it,those things don't come cheap especially here in naija, its even hard to see,I managed to find cream. I also got some plain dark chocolates, strawberries(I first made a jam with the strawberries before I could incorperate it into my icecream) I also got jack Daniels yes the alcoholic drink, it has its work in a good icecream. All these ingredients led me to a perfect creamy rich and delicious icecream.

I have been thinking of ditching the sachet powdered base and making my own

Health / Continuation Of 'i Made My Own Pasta From Scratch' by saltoftheearth0(f): 5:09am On Dec 22, 2015
Good morning beautiful healthy people. Woke up this morning and decided to check nairaland. Lol and behold they have moved my post to the food section, wanted to continue there but when I clicked on it it still says sorry you cant post till in few weeks so that's why I'm back here.

Pasta is actually a healthy meal.

The ingredient for past is surprisingly easy and not complicated and so it the method

2cups of all purpose flour
3eggs
One tablespoon of milk( I used 3 crown because its has low cholesterol)
One table spoon of olive oil
1/4 teaspoon of salt

Now let work our magic and I going to make it as simple as possible

Mix the salt and flour together and lay on a flat board /clean table.make a home in the middle and then whisk the egg milk and olive oil in a bowl so they can come together and gently pour the mixture on the flour you left on the table or board(that hole you made)as you pour you can either use a fork or your hand to mix it gently (it will be messy but keep doing it it will come together. Then you can start kneading. I used all my energy to knead and I used my hand. Knead for 5 minutes until dough is smooth and wrap it In cling film or nylon for 15 minutes to let it rest. But because I was so busy with other things I let mine rest for some hours and that's still ok.

Time to roll your dough now and make any shape of pasta you want.

So I spray a flour on my table and some on the dough so that when I'm rolling it it wont stick. I cut my dough into four places before rolling so it would be easier for me. I rolled it so thin and then cut them intro strips. I was trying to make some shapes that I desired but it was time consuming because other important things were wait for me. So I cut them and got a hanger to hang them to dry

I couldn't wait for it to dry because i had to make dinner.the only reason I would want to dry my pasta is so I can store them in an air tight container and use another day but these pasta where so sexy I had to make dinner with it. Just so I don't make this post the longest post on nl I would love to share how I made dinner with my homemade pasta but only if you indicate that you want the recipe.

It turned out perfect by the way incase you are curious to know.

Food / I Made My Own Pasta From Scratch by saltoftheearth0(f): 9:45pm On Dec 21, 2015
Before you ask what this post is doing in the health section. I'm new here and went to the food section to post but I was told I could only post in few weeks.

And this couldn't wait.

Yea so this is about my home made pasta journey.

I decided to make my own pasta today so I went online to steal some recipes. Got one and got to work immediately,as I was on it my friend came to visit saw me making my own pasta and the next thing she says is life is too sweet to make your own pasta from scratch, I kind of agree with her on that but another thing is I'm curious about food, the right word is in extremely passionate about food.i mean that's what I do for a living.
Moving on,so I told her I was curious and wanted to try something new.

I followed the instructions online and after that I made a delicious healthy pasta

So I will share the recipe shortly. Oh and pictures also.

Romance / Re: 7 Reasons Why ladies Should Make a First Move On The Man they desire. by saltoftheearth0(f): 2:39am On Dec 21, 2015
Ok this is not my story but its true and it happened yesterday. I went to a supermarket yesterday and walked straight to what I wanted. Saw two guys standing there and the cutest asked me how what I wanted to get tasted like.. It was the best pickup line and a very smooth one and then when I turned to respond our eyes met and we held our gaze for a while till I began explaining to him how it tasted. He became more curious and we started a conversation, it was brief though because i had to go and he was also done shopping with his friend. He asked for my name and brought out his hand for a handshake with a captivating locked gaze. As i walked away i thought of collecting his number but the typical naija babe in me had to chill, i told myself if he wanted to see more of me he would ask for my number. I hurriedly gathered the few things i came to buy and rushed to the counter to pay and i saw him at the other counter. I smiled and he smiled back but he never asked for my number. I still locked up. It was when i got to the parking lot i started looking out for him but he was nowhere to be found. Still wishing i bump into him someday and I still doubt I would ask for that number first. Don't blame me its the society we live in.
