I sympathise with the family of the bereaved and pray such never happens again...I want to however digress a bit and say that Ghana and other African countries seem to rejoice whenever they hear of disasters in Nigeria; while I am not celebrating this (God forbid that I do), I hope Ghanaians will learn that disasters are not synonymous with Nigeria alone. It's Boko Haram today in Nigeria, who knows what will raise its ugly head tomorrow in Ghana? Nigeria will rise again and its rising will shame a lot of people, especially our enemies. Once again, I wish the bereaved family God's grace to bear the loss.

Ghana has managed to dodge many crisis unlike Nigeria. Ghana always wished they could surpass Nigeria, but by sheer size, Nigeria is an elephant comparing to a mouse called Ghana . Unfortunately Ghana is too small for Nigeria. Even the economy of the nort east region of Nigeria is bigger than Ghana's economy. Lagos state alone is bigger than Ghana's economy and entire population. Sometimes I wonder why Ghanaians don't take Nigeria's size into consideration.

If Ghana builds one hotel or flyover only in Accra they start shouting. But Nigeria is building the same type of hotel in multiple locations as Uyo, Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Anambra, Enugu, Dutse ,Ogun, Delta,Calabar etc. so comparing Ghana to Nigeria is often a joke.

There are two types of visits foreign leaders pay to other countries. They are working and state visits. During state visits, there are paparazzi as soon as the President steps from his flight on the red carpet. Members of the cabinet of the host President line at one side of the red carpet while the host President introduces them to the visiting President. Not only that, soldiers of the Brigade of Guards are also seen in the airport. Before the visit, there is always publicity.
On the other hand, working visit is not given much publicity. Most times, it is the country whose President is visiting that makes publicity, not the host President. When he arrives the airport, he drives to the state house, where the host President receives him. There are few or no paparazzi at the airport. In the last one month the presidents of Ghana, Ivory Cost, Niger, Chad, Benin, Togo, etc have visited Nigeria, did you hear about any of the visits until they are shown on TV? Was Jonathan at the airport to receive them? Before the election the US Secretary of States visite Nigeria without stepping into Abuja. He drove from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja to meet Jonathan and Buhari separately in Marina and Victoria Island.
