SHAME: OVER 160 NIGERIAN STUDENTS NOW BEGGING IN RUSSIA http://www.liveschoolnews.com.ng/shame-over-160-nigerian-students-now-begging-in-russia/ Report reaching liveschoolnews desk has it that Over 160 Nigerian students who are on the federal government scholarship in Russia are now begging to survive due to lack the non-payment of their allowances in the last six months, it was revealed yesterday. When i heard this report yesterday, i was astound to my world. What the hell is wrong with Nigeria Government? This is what i called disgrace , embarrassment , dishonor , humiliation , indignity , ignominy , infamy, abash to the affected students. I reserved my words. Below is how dailytrust.com.ng is reporting it. Over 160 Nigerian students who are on the federal government scholarship in Russia are now begging to survive due to lack the non-payment of their allowances in the last six months, it was revealed yesterday. This revelation was made yesterday by the leader of the Association of the Federal Government Doctoral Candidates in Russia, Godwin Ezinkwo, during an interactive session with the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs. Ezinkwo who stated that there are about 150 under graduate and 10 post-graduate students currently studying in Russia on the FG scholarship said that this is the worst form of scholarship by the Nigerian government. Ezinkwo informed the committee that for six months now, they have not been paid their allowances, asituation that made them to beg their counterparts from other African countries like Ghana , Zimbabwe and the rest for assistance. He said that the students also suffer in terms of accommodation because most of them are yet to pay for their houses, adding that they currently face eviction. “Russia is a very hostile country in terms of weather and other things. It is very embarrassing and difficult tocope. Nigerian students are now living at the mercy of other African scholarship students like Ghana, Zimbabwe and all that. They lend money to us, so Nigerian students are like beggars. They’re begging, if one has to use that word. It’sas bad; begging other students from African countries. It’s demoralizing. “We also have to bring up the issue of accommodation. The agreement in its raw form provides accommodation for students, but unfortunately some of the host countries do not honour this agreement. Students are made to pay for accommodation, but they’re unable to pay for the accommodation, because their stipends and remittances for at least six months have not been paid. As I speak to you now, students are going to be evicted from their hostels because they cannot pay for the accommodation,” he said. read full details in dailytrust.com.ng - See more at: http://www.liveschoolnews.com.ng/shame-over-160-nigerian-students-now-begging-in-russia/#sthash.IuNh0HL1.dpuf [s] lezz:[/s] 3 Likes |

Txonyi:rubbish nonsense! even a child born today nigeria is nowhere near Ghana when it comes to quality of education. you are talking about your schools ranking higher than Ghana? and you have forgotten other ranking that put Ghanaian universities ahead of nigerian universities? or you have never seen international rankings that rated Ghanaian universities higher than those in your country? 3 Ghanaian students sweep WAEC International Excellence awards http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=110625 Three Ghanaian students on Tuesday in Lagos cart home all the three West African Examinations Council (WAEC) International Excellence Awards for the best candidates that sat for the school examination among the five-member body. The council at its 63rd Annual Council meeting in Nigerian held at Multipurpose Hall, WAEC International Office, Ikeja, the council honoured the three candidates from Ghana with WAEC International Excellence Awards including cash as well as plaques. The three Ghanaian students: Hasan Mickail, 17-year-old, Kenyah Blaykyi, 18-year-old and Archibaid Enninful Henry, 18-year-old beat over two million candidates from Nigeria, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Liberia that sat for the May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The feat is the fifth in succession by Ghanaian candidates. The last time a Nigerian student won the WAEC International Excellence Award was in 2007 by John Yusuf while in 2010, there were no winners. In the May/June 2014 WASSCE, Hasan Mickail recorded eight A1s including English Language and Mathematics, to claim first winner, Kenayah Blaykyi, made eight A1s to cart home the second prize and Archibald Enninful Henry recorded similar result emerged 3rd winner. Equally, the three students emerged the best three candidates in WAEC Ghana May/June 2014 WASSCE. The council in 1984 introduced two categories of awards, International award to be competed for by candidates in more than one member country and National Award restricted in scope to each member nation. Hasan Mickail, told our Correspondent that he, his parents and school were excited when the news emerged and was waiting to secure admission to read Medicine but was currently teaching in one of the schools in Ghana. Hasan, who is the third child out five children, revealed that for emerging the best WASSCE candidate in Ghana, the council awarded him a university scholarship. The second and third place winners also told our Correspondent how they prepared for the May/June WASSCE even as they showered praises on their parents and teachers for the academic success. The 63rd annual council meeting was to be hosted by Liberia but shifted to Nigeria and it attracted dignitaries including two Liberian ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Augustine Ngufuan, Minister of Education, Mrs. Etmonia Tapeh, the Federal Government was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, council chairman, Prof Augustine Obanya, Registrar, Mr. Iyi Uwadiae and five Heads of National Office from Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Liberia. Such arrange crap! What has Nigeria done for Africa apart from 419 and yahoo yahoo? your useless boys scouts couldn't even deal with a bunch of rag tag islamists? Nigeria control 70 percent of West African economy? and yet most of your people feed from dustbins? 70 percent my azz even a child born today knows the Nigerian economy is only big on paper such arrange nonsense! [qqquote author=lezz post=33736981] I knew you couldn't come up with anything better. let me slay you once again for pleasure's sake : what has ghana done for africa ? you failed to list a single thing of relevance. I will pick your points one by one and haul you into the trash can. 1) we can't afford education etc . can you give us the ghana equivalent of Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe ? hehehehe 2) you say more than 60% of Nigerians live below a dollar. in your immediate last post on this thread you claimed it was 89% . phew!!! keep adjusting the goal posts until you get a true measurement. you simply lack facts. Nigeria amounted for the most foreign direct investment so far and investors all over the world cant be wrong. 3) the number of billionaires and millionaires a country produce is a bragging right all over the world. the international community keeps an updated tab on this. but of course since GHANA HAS NOT ONE BILLIONAIRE, we can understand why you are green with envy and yellow with fear. WE ARE HOME TO THE LARGEST CONCENTRATION OF MILLIONAIRES AND BILLIONAIRES IN AFRICA. The ORDINARY NIGERIANS ARE THE ONES DOMINATING GHANA'S CENTRAL MARKET, REAL ESTATE AND MICRO TRADE , IMPORTS ETC 4) Saying dangote has a monopoly is just an indication your brain development suffered a stunted growth!!! as we speak, Dangote is in 16 African countries doing big business are they also giving him monopoly? 5) Can you site a source to support your claim that we buy gas from Niger? please i am waiting. Nigeria supplies gas to ghana at a pittance as we speak and the west african gasline project has more input from Nigeria than any single country. ghana discovered oil yesterday and the Chinese are already legally incharge of your oil wells. hohogohoho lol. IMF gives the word before your national budget is read. FACT!!! 6) Nigeria military liberated 46 villages in 2 weeks while chad liberated 3 within her borders. 21st century terrorist insurgence is fought globally by neighbouring countries. in the bokoharam instance, the insurgence often flee into the neighbouring countries when faced with heavy fire power from the NAF. The Sambisa Forrest was boko haram's fortress and headquarters and only the Nigeria Armed Forces (NAF) invaded and neutralized that zone. again the Chadian, nigerien and Cameroonian economies are heavy dependent on imports and trade flows from the nigerian bordering communities not to mention boko haram setting up splinter cells in their own side of the border. These countries were in truth fighting their own boko haram but also their economic survival. And like the Chadian president said this week while paying a courtesy visit to Nigeria president-elect Gen. Buhari, he acclaimed the universal truism : WHEN NIGERIA SNEEZES HER NEIGHBOURS CATCHES COLD. Our military splendid record in liberia, Sierra leone, Mali, Sao tome and Principe, cote d'viore ,Bosnia etc are in history archives of success. other than Ethiopia, Nigeria is the largest UN military donor combatant in Africa. GHANA IS FOREVER TRAILING. In conclusion, NIGERIA is in the MINT countries": the world's next emerging economic power. we are the most educated people in the UNITED STATES Nigeria is the only African country that have her citizen in NASA Nigeria is the only African country having an unmanned satellite in space Nigeria has africa's richest woman africa's richest blogger highest gsm penetration highest internet access and usuage Africa's spiritual headquarters music and entertainment headquaters economic headquarters: 76% of west Africa economy is owned by us. leaving 24% for 15 other countries including ghana. bring forth your calculator and work out your share in that remaining 24% bwahahaha. YOU ARE AN ANT BEFORE US. WE TOLERATE YOUR DISOBEDIENCE AND LACK OF LOYALTY. But when you are counting top 10 African countries Ghana isn't on the list. small children.
