babey543: 2 years is a waste of time especially in a course that does not require it. Those schools are just trying to make more money for themselves and UK government through IHS.
That extra 1 year could be use to work full time through skilled work visa/health care visa/ postgraduate visa enabling you to get money and experience as fast as you can with no limits and building ILR status.
Also often most people do not get internship and the school will curtail your visa to one year with no refund. Companies will underpay you doing internship and you will be serving as errand boy. This is embarrassing.
Also as a fresh MSc and BSc graduate with no experience, you can also apply for Internship positions. In fact, this is how oil and gas and multinational companies recruit nowadays. It is not required to be a student. So don't be scammed.
Only Nursing, Dietetics or any other health related course require 2 years. I love that part where you said in a course that doesn't require it. Second year in most schools is for placement. And securing a placement in a reputed company can land you a tier 2 visa if you are lucky. A school like Teeside that he's intending to go also allows students to pay in installments for 2 years. So, this could be a good bargain for someone with limited budget. So, it all depends on individuals plan |

Well, you have a point. But I think 2 years is better in the long run. I wish you the best nekkyblues: The major thing is funds, when paying for IHS it means I'll need to pay for 2 years which is quite much.
Then the 2 years course will not give me enough time to work. |

nekkyblues: Hello All,
Please I need help.
An agent helped me to apply for MSc Psychology at Teesside University, unknowingly to me, she applied for the 2 years course instead of 1 year.
The one I really want is the 1 year course. Now Teesside has offered me admission, she suggested that I apply for the 1 year course which I have done.
Please what are the chances that the school will give me this particular one I want since they have already given me the 2 years course? I'm yet to accept the offer for the 2 years course.
Please help, I'm in a dilemma Why do you prefer the 1 year course if I may ask? |

1. You can't pay with your naira card. 2. No one cares how you pay for your application. Just find a legal means to make the payment. So this option is absolutely fine TeamLagos147: Congratulations to all recent visa holders and good luck to us all who are still going through the application process.
Please I have a few questions:
Can I pay my Visa fee and IHS with my naira debit card? If not, how can I pay?
Can my sibling in the UK pay on my behalf in pounds? Hope this wouldn't look fishy in front of the ECO.
Please shed more light, thank you! |

korexh: Good morning @Samcathe Pls I want to ask a question concerning POF? In my case where I'm using my dads account where he has the funds in there for years, How did the 28 days maturity apply to this, Or I can apply for CAS or visa with it directly without waiting for any 28 days Since the money is in the account all this while That's great. Just print for any 28 days period. It's 28 days minimum. So, if I'm in your shoe, I will print like 30 days. Assuming you want to make your application today, you can print from 4th July to 9th August. |

Skynet2021: Please is the date of visa application the date you finalised your application by submitting after uploading the whole documents? Or is it deemed that you have applied after paying for IHS and Visa fee? The date of application is the day you pay for IHS AND VISA. So, if your POF has not mature, it's not advisable to pay. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by Samcathe: 12:45pm On Aug 09, 2022 |
If you've been following this group, you would've understand why it's advisable to apply for visa only when your 28 days elapsed. While some have done it successfully (very few), a WHOLE LOT of people's application have been refused because their fund is not yet mature when they applied. RhylanTraveller: Please explain. Saying the advice is wrong without even saying why doesn't help anybody. I was helped on this site which is why I am only trying to do the same, but if you can educate me even further I would be grateful, and so would anyone else who comes across these posts.
Edit: Also, using the word 'suicidal' is too much na, lol. I know we all want to japa as soon as possible but let's not reinforce any negative thoughts in anyone's head, please. I'm fully prepared to spend another year in my attempt (in fact I believe it is quite likely I will at this point). Money is wasted, time is wasted, but it is not the end of the world. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by Samcathe: 11:37am On Aug 09, 2022 |
This advice is suicidal RhylanTraveller: I'd advise you book the appointment as soon as possible. Book it for the closest date after your POF matures.
In my case it turned out that what I intended to use as POF won't work, so I'm now working on generating that again (meaning 28 days, again). I've booked my Biometrics for the 5th of Sept, and can do nothing but hope I get my VISA before my school's lateness deadline. If you wait until the 18th of August to book the biometrics appointment, you will not find any nearby dates and it will end up delaying you. Unless you intend to try a walk-in appointment with N42k sha. |

Investment › Re: Why Are Nigerians Still Investing In MBA Forex, BARA And Others? by Samcathe: 6:49am On Oct 28, 2020 |
israel19israel: Now this is what majority of investors fails to do, don't ever invest in an investment you do not have adequate knowledge about.
Where in the world does returns on investment is 180% per annum, thou I do agree that people make money from forex and they also loose money as well and sometimes they loose so greatly. Think about the overhead costing of MBA, they will pay rent of over 10mansion offices across Nigeria, they will pay all staffs working for them, they will fuel their generators, pay taxes and still pay you 180% interest plus capital, haba. Are they magician. That means they must have gotten 600% interest from their total capital. If they gain so much within a year then what about their lost?
The one that even baffles me was during the Pandemic when all money markets was down, shares was showing red, stock down, Treasury bill down, crude oil selling below $10 but in the midst of all these, MBA was still paying interest, the question is from which economy were they making profit from forex at such point. What it means is that they were taking from Paul to pay Peter. I have two close friends who had lost so greatly to forex, they are professionals but they told me there will always be a bad days. I remember even helping one of them with #10k, someone that has up to $3k in forex but lost all.
MBA may be professional but there are bad days and I don't think they are communicating that with their investors. This people are running so much expenses on their operations and they are still paying 180%, the question is HOW. maybe Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga, Elumelu, Ovia, Okoya, NSA, CBN. needs to come and learn Investment from MBA since they are the greatest in Nigeria paying investors 180% per annum
As my mentor will always tell me, that every investment is a risk but never invest in an investment that the risk can't be calculated. You should always go for the lowest risk and with securities guaranteed.
I have studied some top Nigeria Investment portfolios and I discovered Real Estate Landbanking happens to be the best because of its lowest risk and securities around it.
You invest in Landbanking and get ROI of 36%, a legal deed of investment would be issued, post dated cheque of your capital and interest issued, Aiico Insurance on your capital issued, and Copy of Land documents as a CO owner of the land banking.
Lands are purchased by a real estate company with your money, package and alllow to Appreciate in a short while and they sell, then share money among investors.
What kind of investment can be safer than Landbanking yet some people wants to double their money in 24hours if possible.
I have a friend who withdrawn his money from Treasury bill and invested in the Landbanking, the beauty of it is that you can even get an upfront interest payment but T&C apply while you get capital at maturity date.
Think of the 36% interest return, Treasury bill, Shares and Stock do not give up to that amount and they also crash at some point. Example is during the Pandemic. Real estate was stronger and resilent.
If you invest #5.1m , you will get #1,836,000 interest less withholding tax of 5% only.
Salary will make you rich but Investment is what makes you Wealthy and remain Wealthy.
I can give you more details if you wish Call or WhatsApp me 09085842255 The wealth of the people you mentioned here can feed a whole nation. Can't you see the big picture? Don't tell me they can't pay beyond what they are paying. Recently, one of them spent over 200 million just in one day. That's only what we can see. They are living in affluence, how? From the same biz you claimed they can only afford 36% profit for investors per annum. People investing in MBA and co are adults. Let them enjoy their ROI while it lasts. Why condemn one investment to introduce yours. Theres no 100% guarantee in any investment even if they pay you 1% per annum. |

I have known about MBA for over a year and never invested a dime up till now.
I know someone who have been cashing out over 750k since then.
If he had used the money to start a business, there's no guarantee that it will be successful.
As a matter of fact, statistics shows that 95% of business fail after 5 years.
I'm very sure the OP did not bring up this topic to warn innocent Nigerians. He only did it out of selfish interest. Either he's not happy that the system is still paying up till now or he have no money to invest.
Life is all about risk. Nothing is guaranteed in this life. This #Endsars program have taught so many of us lessons. Many shops were burnt, so many people will loose their jobs. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Whatever people use their money to do should not be your own problem. |
