The thing is why can't you guys advertise without lying? Can't you just leave out first body in your advert? Someone that really wants to buy will still buy as is. It gets me mad when you all lie about the condition of the car just because you want to sell. See how poor the painting work was even done. Who knows how the engine is even looking.

Gurus in house, please which is most preferred between Toyota corolla 05/06 model, 09 model and Toyota spider. I have the 3 in mind but somehow confused on which to go for. Please your opinion and possible reasons.

A friend of mine just went ahead with a transaction on a car he saw on olist 2013 Toyota Camry for 1.450m. He called the attached phone number and they said he has to pay 100k for allocation. As I type, he has already paid, even before telling me. He's in PH, he called someone living in Lagos to help him go check the car and the person encouraged him to pay the 100k then they will come back to pay for the car in a week's time. The car is ridiculously too cheap and which one is allocation fee again. I don't know how to tell him that he is being scammed because he sounds so convinced.

The AC issue has to do with the compressor. The car usually come with automatic compressor. But once the compressor develops a fault they will advice you to buy a manual compressor. The only explanation I got was that our weather is different. But I strongly believe that the manufacturer that chose an automatic compressor is not stupid.

Ok sir, so that means once the compressor is changed, that's all? And does the earlier models come with manual compressors?
Overall what's your advise?
To go for the 06/07 model or still go for the 09?

Am told that this Toyota corolla 09 normally has AC issues after sometime and it's likely to be factory fault. I really need to know about this because am interested in getting this around next week. Was using the 03 model and wanted opting for the 06/07 but they all have same mould/trim. That's why the 09 is considered a good upgrade.

Any ideas?

I am about buying the 2009 Toyota corolla but someone mentioned that it has AC issues which appears to be a factory error, and can't be resolved by changing components.

I have already used the corolla 2003 model and wanted upgrading to 2009 since the 03 to 07 models have same mould. I was initially thinking of getting the 05/06 model.

Someone please advise me on what decision to take cos I have a slightly lean budget.

Camry aswell as corolla of that year has the melting dashboard issue... its inevitable and would require re-leather after a period of time. It's a factory fault that was corrected in 2010.. a good upholstery would do a nice job definitely..

That's serious. From the look of things, I may decide to leave it and settle for the 2005-2007 corolla models. I was just thinking of going for an upgrade cos I've used the 03 model and it's same trim up to 07/08. That's why I thought of going for the 09, at the point of sale, I was offered same price for 09 corolla and camry spider.

I Really loved the 03 I used so I might just decide to go for any of 05 - 07. But don't know if that can really be considered an upgrade.

I would advise you to go for camry spider anyday and time, that corolla 2009 major problem is A/C and am afraid its mostly unresolvable, it would drain you massive...

The technicians would come up with all sort, from conversion to manual compressor to replacement of virtually all A/c components e.g compressor, condenser, evaporator, thermostat etc...

There is a reason the secondhand value is very poor despite being eligible for Uber taxis, it's a cool car but when the A/C starts its issues and goes beyond gas and compressor change, it may be a sign to sell..

For the camry, I prefer the V6 (2GR engine), its durable and can last over 10years without an engine change or transmission change, that engine was used on Avalon, Venza, Camry, RX, Sienna etc till date... it's one of the best engines Toyota ever produced and can comfortably carry all components of the vehicle without shiver, your compressor would last longer ice cold.. dont worry about fueling, it's very efficient and has better second hand value..

Thanks a lot. This really helped but Fuel economy has been my major concern. Besides that, I've seen so many spiders with dashboard looking so bad in terms of wear and tear. I love the interior though, cos it's very sizeable and luxurious.
