Hello guys, I have a bit of a headache I will need your advice on. My initial plan was to book a hotel to stay for 2 nights and then sort my apartment from there but with the latest development that says we have to stay at our arrival place for at least 14 days, I am confused on what steps to take next. Rent an apartment online. I received over 4 calls from property agents today. It's as simple as ABC. See a property. Do a video inspection, read the tenancy agreement and you like it then make payment. Them no fit scam you for UK with a UK bank account. Thanks

1. It will be for a maximum of 9 months.
This is because the dependant's leave will be dependent on the time left on the T4 student's leave. And if the dependant applies in Feb 2021, the main applicant (the T4 student) still has 11 months valid leave in the UK based on the visa durations under the current PBS system.
The student's leave doesn't end when he/she finishes the course but by 11.59pm on the day the leave granted the student expires; this is usually 4-6 months after course end date.
I anticipate that the leave periods will be changed at the start of the PSW scheme.

2. The IHS should be for 1 year (£470 - IHS cost per year for students from October 2020) since the period of leave would be 11 months. You can use the IHS fee checker if in doubt.

3. 28 days financial proof.

PS: When applying with the main applicant or before the main applicant arrives the UK, the calculation is usually based on the course duration but when applying separately, it is based on the duration left on the student's visa/leave.

I think you need to show 860 per month if you are going to London and 680 per month for other cities for a period of 9 months. IHS surcharge is 300 per person for a year as of this time.

But the duration of stay is no longer 9months na as it has reduced

My dear it's too close to visa processing and resumption. Let me say categorically that it is a long process if a test go wrong. I don't pray that for anyone though. Go to Abuja and have your thing done so you will look forward to the next stage. My opinion though. Thanks

I think I will have to use two Banks. I will use Fidelity and stanbic bank to do the both transaction as the Visa fees and health surcharge will be paid differently.

No you cannot because they will request your admission letter,degree certificate and passport data page. It must tally with the name in the account and BVN. You can hurriedly open an account with Stanbic IBTC. The rate for today dropped to 478.77 to a pounds sterling

You'd need to get parental consent or legal guardianship from the courts. You'd have to prove that you've been solely responsible for her and you may have to provide authorisation from the child's parent in order to go through with this.
What about her parents? This will largely determine what documents you need to present to get legal guardianship, custody or parental consent from the courts.
With any of the 3 documents and letters from her school/doctor confirming that she has been living at your address and stating you as the parent on record for the child, you're good to go.

Oo.. Fellow intending Derby student. This is how my unconditional offer also came. They didn't mention the discount. And the letter was just on an email body just like yours. But don't worry, I have received CAS yesterday and everything is showing now.
Next thing is to pay your tuition deposit
After that, present your 28 days bank statement
After that, fill a CAS request form. Your CAS will be sent to you. Good luck.

Oga, it is true that you may have secured admission with a university that is not on the list. You cannot underestimate the powers of NCSC. Check the universities on that list, their fees are above 20k pounds compared to the once who did not make the list which goes for about 14k. The NCSC is a government regulatory body and you can't take that status from them
