Kobojunkie: 1. If you recall, back in 2025, Congress pushed back against DOGE and then against the payment of DOGE dividends back to the American people. 😒😒 2. The Supreme Court is not in the way of DOGE or the payment of Dividends to the American people. Congress has been against it. 😒 3. The current Congress refused to authorize the payment of money realized from getting back taxpayer money from waste -- corruption, fraud, bloat, etc. This is not a secret. In November, Americans get the chance to change Congress, making this a good time to call on Americans to do so. 😒 That money is taxpayer money, and taxpayers should enjoy some of the benefits of having their money recovered from corruption and fraud in the system. That is what someone asked for, and the President agreed with it. The debate over the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s comments on akara and kulikuli businesses has found its way into a university examination, as a question in a Second Semester 2025/2026 paper at the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Kogi State, tasked students with producing an advocacy advertisement copy around the theme. The remarks, however, triggered swift criticism on social media, with many Nigerians accusing her of trivialising the economic hardship facing citizens amid rising food prices, inflation and unemployment. The Lagos state government has unveiled a set of cybersecurity guidelines aimed at strengthening digital safety for businesses, public institutions, and residents. In a statement on Monday, Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos state commissioner on information and strategy, said the framework is part of the state’s efforts to position Lagos as a smart, secure, and globally competitive digital hub. Some of the guidelines are self-assess, such as identifying your current vulnerabilities across devices, accounts and data; apply controls, which is implementation of foundational security controls (MFA, backups, and patching); train your team by building awareness through quarterly phishing simulations and sessions; and stay compliant by reporting incidents, protecting data and collaborating with state initiatives. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday announced the donation of 100 vehicles and gadgets to boost security in the state. He disclosed this at the 19th Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, organised by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) on Victoria Island, Lagos with the theme: “Building Trust, Enhancing Security: A New Era of Security and Partnerships”, where he advocated greater citizen participation to tackle emerging security challenges. He said securing lives and property was a shared responsibility, urging Lagosians to own the process. The governor said investment in security was a non-negotiable priority, adding that Lagos was ready to partner the Federal Government and security agencies to achieve a crime-free state. “Every investment we make in security is a direct investment in peace, order and prosperity. Security is not a task for government alone. It is a shared duty, and we must continue to work together to build a safer Lagos for all,” he said. Giving an account of the year, LSSTF Executive Secretary, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, said N1,775,543,613.81 was spent on security interventions between December 19 last year and yesterday. He said the sum was part of the N1,848,406,100.00 received as cash donations within the same period, adding that 228 security vehicles were also received as donations. Of the 228 vehicles all fitted with communication and security gadgets, 217 were donated by the state government; two from the SNEPCO/Shell Joint Venture, and nine -seven buses and two 15-ton troop carriers- were bought by LSSTF. |

Devakumar Edwin, Dangote Group’s vice-president, says the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has faced 22 incidents of sabotage since inception. Edwin revealed the incidents of sabotage while clarifying that the reorganisation of the company, that led to the sack of some workers, had nothing to do with the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). He spoke during a tour of the refinery by Bubaraye Dakolo, the King of Ekpetiama Kingdom and chairman of Bayelsa Traditional Rulers Council. On September 26, Dangote refinery confirmed sacking only “small number of workers,” however, PENGASSAN claimed over 800 employees were sacked due to union dispute with the refinery. Dangote refinery said the workers were sacked to safeguard the refiner from repeated acts of sabotage that “have raised safety concerns and affected operational efficiency”. PENGASSAN instructed its members to embark on a nationwide strike on September 28, over the dismissal of the workers, however, the industrial action was suspended on October 1 after the intervention of the federal government. Dangote Group agreed to redeploy the sacked workers to its other subsidiaries. Addressing PENGASSAN’s claim, Edwin said the reorganisation was because Dangote refinery has faced multiple sabotage attempts. “We have been under repeated attacks like some people have pointed out earlier. Originally, the refinery, they said it will not even come up. Then they said it will not be commissioned and start production,” he said. “We went through all those phases. Then they said, okay, we have an issue with PENGASSAN, which is totally false news. Because when we went and had a meeting in Abuja with the ministers and the security agencies, I repeatedly emphasised that we have no issue with PENGASSAN. “The reorganisation we did, had nothing to do with PENGASSAN. We started facing incidences of sabotage. We have 22 incidences of sabotage. “You are all aware. You have seen fires in the past, even in Kaduna refinery and some of the other refineries. There were attempted fire incidences. “I have the dates, the unit where it was done, and when it was done. All are documented data. Because you went to the master control room, you know that all the data are completely captured.” ‘ULTRA-MODERN SYSTEM PREVENTED SABOTAGE FROM HAVING IMPACT’ Edwin said the ultra-modern system of Dangote refinery prevented the sabotage from impacting its equipment. “And same way, equipment trying to be brought down. Somebody will open a valve to try to see if it will break down. Fortunately for us, by the grace of God, it’s a very ultra-modern refinery. “So when somebody starts a fire somewhere, the fire protection system is so well, it is immediately controlled. Same way, when they try to break down an instrument by opening a valve or adjusting some instruments, some other instrument overrules it and stops. But it is documented. “So we started looking at it, and then we were a bit concerned. Somebody can just bring a major shit down. And a lot of the investment has gone inside. “That is why we did this massive reorganisation. It has nothing to do with PENGASSAN and I repeatedly emphasise, even the dates or planning, everything is different.” Edwin added that the sabotage at the refinery’s investment was a major concern, noting that someone could potentially cause significant damage, which was what prompted a “massive reorganisation”. |

Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace development, says the comments by Osita Chidoka, his predecessor, are “hypocritical”. On May 22, Chidoka, former minister of aviation, said the federal government must not allow Emirates Airlines to resume operations in Nigeria without being held accountable for their “disrespectful and demeaning conduct”. According to Chidoka, the audacity of the airline to return to Nigeria “reeks the contempt and disdain towards our nation”. In his reaction on X on Wednesday, Keyamo said Chidoka’s advice should have been directed to Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He asked Chidoka why Atiku was not advised to sell his assets in Dubai as a protest to the ban on visa and flights. UAE and Nigeria have been engaging in a diplomatic row over issues involving flight allocations and travel bans since 2021. On December 13, 2021, UAE issued a travel restriction on passengers from Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo, citing a surge in the countries’ COVID-19 cases from passengers of the two African nations. However, TheCable reported the travel ban might not be unconnected with the diplomatic row between Nigeria and UAE, over Air Peace’s flight frequency to the Arab country. Air Peace had requested a slot of three weekly flights from Nigeria to Sharjah Airport in UAE, but only one was granted by the country’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). GCAA said Air Peace should not expect to retain its flight frequency after pulling out of Sharjah Airport — the Nigerian airline, however, denied the claim.
