PoliticsRe: Nigeri'a Support Of UN Ant-israel Resolution, Most Unfortunate by samebony1(op): 2:31pm On Dec 22, 2017
validman7:
let us not be sentimental about the whole issue, have you asked yourself why former presidents before Trump couldn't take this step since that's what the American people want..
how many of American strongest allies voted in favour of America..
in as much as I quite agree with trump at times, sometimes he makes awkward decisions... American is seen as the mediator in the crisis between Israel and Palestine, making this harshly decision makes it look as if they are siding Israel.

the threats Trump made is uncalled for, watched CNN and BBC, people were blaming me for trying to cajole countries to favor him.
although the UN resolution doesn't stop United states from rescinding in there decision.
the truth is America is loosing its strongest allies under president Trump. with what is happening in Korea peninsula, I never thought south Korea will go against US.
Though you said"let us not be sentimental about the whole issue", but the whole issue is about sentiments
The countries that voted for the resolution are only trying to be politically correct and hypocritical.
Some of them are Arab countries that will not grant citizenship to Palestinian refugees.
Libya is selling black Africans as slaves. India is fighting Pakistan over Kashmir, but both of them voted against Israel.
Spain is fighting against moves by Barcelona to be a separate country.
These are just few instances of the hypocrisy in the UN

what makes it most unfortunate?
what do you know about international relations?

if not for there threats most of the countries that voted in Abstentia would have joined others.

believe it or not, the United states is loosing its power under Trump.

United states is not always right,

get that
The little I know about Foreign Relations tells me that a country's Foreign Policy and Actions should be premised on its Strategic National Interest, and this comprises but not limited to the following Economic, Security & Cultural.

Economically, Nigeria stand to gain more from with USA/Israel. Remember that US is the largest buyer of our Oil and one of our biggest Trading partner. We trade volume with USA is more than our trade volume with the Arab world put together. Consider the number of Nigerian working in USA and sending money home to support their family. Think of American imposing taxes on these remittances coming to Nigeria, then you begin to get the picture of what we stand to lose. Israel also supports Nigeria with cutting edge technology in our Agricultural sector.

On the Security front, is it not USA that is helping us to tackle our security challenges such as Boko Haram. Most of our senior military men receive trainings from US military institutions. our current President, PMB is a product of American War College. Israel also assist to train our security forces and provides logistics support to the Nigerian military. We can learn more from Israel in tackling terrorism as the country has been able to eliminate many terrorist leaders over the years.

More Nigerians school in USA than in the Arab world, and the certificates gained from such American institutions have an edge in the employment market.
You see, foreign policy is not a whimsical thing, but must be thoroughly thought out and delicately implemented. Nigeria should have abstained in that vote
PoliticsNigeri'a Support Of UN Ant-israel Resolution, Most Unfortunate by samebony1(op): 10:46am On Dec 22, 2017
Nigeria was one of the countries that supported the UN resolution, yesterday which condemned America's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This fortunately non-binding resolution by the UN has clearly shows that the organization is pro-Palestine.
Nigeria should have abstained as did Benin & Cameroon, thereby protecting the country's strategic national Interest.
On this issue, the Foreign Affairs minister and the present administration got it wrong.
A vote for Israel would have been a Vote against violence and terrorism championed by PLO, Hezbollah and other radical arab elements

Here is a country breakdown of the General Assembly vote:

The Israeli minister for Intelligence has Katz has assured Lebanon based Hezbollah, the terrorist group, that the whole of Lebanon will be returned to the stone age if the group dare start another war with Israel.

He stated this in in an interview on Wednesday, when he warned that if the organisation resumed a military conflict 'all of Lebanon will be a target.'

'What happened in 2006 would be a picnic compared to what could happen... Israel and Hezbollah fought a war in 2006 and often trade warnings. 'I say Lebanon will return to the stone age.'
The warning is coming on the heels of the terror group's leader call for 'martyr' terror attacks in Jerusalem after Donald Trump's recognition of the city as the Israeli capital last week.
Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of the Lebanese militant group, made the impassioned televised speech to thousands of followers, inciting the crowd to chant 'Death to America'.

Foreign AffairsSaudi King Deceiving Palestines About Jerusalem As Their Capital by samebony1(op): 5:10pm On Dec 13, 2017
Saudi King Salman said Wednesday that Palestinians have the right to Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem as their capital.

The King seems to be obvious of the fact that the Jews have rightly declared Jerusalem as their indivisible capital. This claim has historical backing of the Bible. Even the Islamic Quran recognizes the Jews as the chosen people of GOD.

“The kingdom has called for a political solution to resolve regional crises, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue and the restoration of the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights, including the right to establish their independent state with east Jerusalem as its capital,” the king said.

Salman’s expressed this view in an address to the kingdom’s Consultative Council came .

PoliticsBREAKING: Appeal Court Sends Saraki Back To Code Of Conduct Tribunal by samebony1(op): 4:30pm On Dec 12, 2017
The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on Tuesday sent Bukola Saraki back to the Code of Conduct Tribunal to face charges of false declaration of asset.

The Nigerian government had appealed the acquittal of the Senate President earlier this year by the CCT.

The tribunal had dismissed all 18-count allegations of false and anticipatory declaration of asset by Mr. Saraki.

At its sitting today, the Court of Appeal panel ruled that Mr. Saraki did not sufficiently answer three of the charges.

The three-man panel, led by Tinuade Akomolafe-Wilson, dismissed the remaining 15 charges appealed by the Attorney-General Abubakar Malami.

A statement by Mr. Saraki’s media office said the Senate President will appeal the verdict to the Supreme Court.

let me give you a brief rundown of saraki. his father olusola was part and parcel of the pdm , which was actually the major force of pdp, the pdm is headed by atiku but was created by gen yar adua . so more or less bukola saraki has always been a pdp man. he decamped to apc when his master atiku decamped to apc primarily because gej wanted to contest again and wsnt going to give atiku the ticket. the governor forum saga was just a smoke screen for the real reason. now when they got into apc, they had to contend with apc founding members but because he was the governor ,it was easy for him to get the senatorial ticket and win. but his boss atiku lost out the presidential ticket race to the tinubu faction of apc that supported buhari.
now as at today the core apc members that brought buhari into power have been relegated to the background and buhari cpc faction within the party seems to be having a field day, they have a very strong base in the north,BUT THE NORTH ALONE CANT WIN AN ELECTION. so with the movement of atiku out of apc there is a great vacuum which has been created . gej realized his mistake of letting atiku leave pdp late because those who surrounded him then were telling him atiku is nobody , by the time he realized his mistake , he went to plead with atiku just about 2-3 weeks before the election that he should come back to pdp,but it was already too late . now the same mistake gej made is the same mistake buhari is making by allowing ppl to tell him that he can underestimate the political might of atiku. even okorocha has come out to openly admit that apc has lost a very important person.

You lie bad about Olusola Saraki being a member of PDM. Olusola Saraki was a member of ANPP, that produced the governor of Kwara state in 1999, in the person of Rear Admiral (rtd) Mohammed Alabi Lawal. It was when he fell out with the elder Saraki, his political god father and Bukola Saraki's father, that the Saraki's moved to PDP and joined forces with OBJ to flush out Lawal. The deal was for Bukola to become Governor, while his sister became senator and Kwara become a PDP state Atiku was never his Boss, rather the person we can call his Boss is OBJ who gave him an appointment under his government

PDP has also lost South West, even before election by not zoning the chairmanship to it.

North West will also vote PMB. SS & SE will be divided, but PMB will retain his seat.

PoliticsAtiku Supported Saraki To Be Senate President, Says Dogara by samebony1(op): 10:13am On Dec 12, 2017
Much have been said over how Saraki and Dogara emerged leaders of the national Assembly and how this have slowed down the Buhari administrator's programmes. But little was known of the role Abubakar Atiku played in the emergence of the duo until now.
However, thanks to the book written by Dogara, we now know that Atiku gave 'solid voice" of support to Dogara and Saraki. This one may be tempted to say was part of his plan to frustrate PMB government and then help himself to the presidency.

Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, says former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar “solidly” backed Bukola Saraki’s bid to be senate president in 2015 — despite strong opposition from the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), apparently including President Muhammadu Buhari. Ahmed Lawan was the choice of the APC leadership for senate president
In his biography, ‘A Reed Made Flint’, authored by Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu, Dogara provided more insight into the politics that ushered in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration in May 2015.

The biography, made available to only TheCable, is due for public presentation on December 26, 2017 to mark the 5oth birthday of the speaker.
“If I don’t say this to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s credit I will not be fair to him. It will amount to travesty. At the time when most leaders in the APC were not showing sympathy to our cause, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came out as one solid voice in support of both the candidature of the now Senate President (Bukola Saraki) and my humble self.

If Israel is as powerful as you claim, why haven't they been able to occupy the whole Jerusalem? why are we talking about two state solution to the crisis?
If the former Soviet Union could not defeat the Arab coalition in Afghanistan, is it Israel that was trashed by Hezbollah alone in Lebanon that will defeat it. Continue deceiving yourself.
Israel is not talking about two state solution but the International community that is supporting the Palestine.
Russia could not defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan, because US was supported the Taliban with weapon and other logistics. US was afraid that if Russia gain access to a warm water port, they will be able to spread their communist ideology farther and thereby undermine US interest in the South Pacific and Eastern Africa.

Israel defeated a coalition of Arabs in the Six Day War, also known as the June War, 1967 Arab–Israeli War. The Arabs were also spanked in the Yom Kippur War 1973, not to talk of the 1948 war, when a vey young Israeli nation defeated a coalition of many Arab nations. Foreign AffairsZimbabwe's President Names Top Military Officers In New Cabinet by samebony1(op): 12:28pm On Dec 01, 2017
Zimbabwe's new president named his first cabinet Thursday, appointing two senior military officers to key portfolios and dropping close allies of Robert Mugabe who resigned after the armed forces took control of the country.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa appointed as foreign affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo, the army major general who went on state television announcng the military's take-over, a dramatic powergrab which culminated in Mugabe stepping down a week later.

The long-serving airforce commander Perence Shiri also became the Lands and Agriculture minister, according to a statement released late Thursday night.

Mnangagwa however kept a sizeable number of ministers from Mugabe's former cabinet - including Patrick Chinamas who returns to the finance ministry from which he had been removed by Mugabe during a cabinet reshuffle in October.

War veteran leaders who spearheaded mass protests to force Mugabe out of office, four days after the military sent tanks to the streets of the capital Harare, were also awarded positions in the cabinet.

Chris Mutsvangwa is now the Information Minister while another became a deputy in the defence and security ministry.

The cabinet did not include figures from the opposition to Mugabe.

Mnangagwa, 75, was sworn in last Friday following dramatic events in the southern African country after the military took over saying they wanted to arrest criminals in government around 93-year-old Mugabe.

Mugabe's tenure withstood repeated claims of hanging on to power through brutal repression of dissent, election rigging and corruption, until concerted pressure from the military finally forced him to quit.

Parliament had begun proceedings to impeach Mugabe for allowing his wife Grace and a coterie of followers to "capture" the ruling Zanu-PF party.

Now the new president has vowed sweeping changes in government and new policies to attract investment and revive the ailing economy.

Even 27 psychologists, psychiatrists, and mental health professionals in the US have confirmed that the man constitutes danger, not only to US but the entire world . This is their summation as contained in a book titled, "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump", edited by Brandy Lee and published by Thomas Dunne Books in October 2017.
They argue that the president's mental health is affecting the mental health of the people of the United States[1] and that he places the country at grave risk of involving it in a war and of undermining democracy itself because of his pathological narcissism and sociopathy.
Foreign AffairsDonald Trump Is A Psychopath, Suffers Psychosis, says Psychiatrist by samebony1(op): 11:04am On Dec 01, 2017
Donald Trump is suffering from psychopathy and has a mental state that poses an “enormous present danger”, a clinical psychiatrist has said.
The US President has psychosis and is “a very sick man”, said Dr Lance Dodes, a former assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at Harvard Medical School who now works for the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
It comes after Mr Trump provoked fury by retweeting three Islamophobic videos posted by the deputy leader of far-right group Britain First.
Dr Dodes told US cable channel MSNBC: “It’s another example of his being close to psychosis when he’s stressed.
“The simple explanation for it, which people don’t want to hear, is that he’s not in control of himself. This is what we mean when we say that somebody is becoming psychotic or is briefly psychotic."
He added: “All of his delusional ideas come up when he is stressed in some way, and then he loses track of reality because it doesn’t fit what he needs to believe.”
Dr Dodes said it was “an extremely dangerous thing” for a position of power to be held by someone who “appears so wantonly unconcerned about the welfare of others and willing to do anything to promote himself”.
He added that Mr Trump was "an enormous present danger to us from the standpoint of creating a nuclear war and even from the standpoint of doing what he can to destroy democracy as well as attacking ethnic groups in the way he’s done.
“This is a very sick man. He is truly very sick”.
Mr Trump was "villainous because of his sociopathy and psychopathy but with a tremendous veneer that he’s extremely good at,” he said.
Nothing that Mr Trump might do would now be surprising to him, including dissolving the US constitution, firing the Supreme Court or starting a nuclear war with North Korea, because such actions would be “consistent” with his previous behaviour”, he added.
The US Congress and allies of Mr Trump need to accept that the President is “an extremely incapable, disordered, sick individual”, he added.
