Port Harcourt is not just on fire but boiling. Everyday comes with either a robbery or kidnapping case. My own experience: These robbers traced me from bank, shot at my car and robbered me og huge sum me at gun point at same mummyB along stadium road. Days after, i stopped driving and decided to go low key. Still on one of the days to work, my bag with valuables snatched. Same week, i had two other friends robbed. The peak was when they opened fire on friends sitting out along same stadium road at a bar for nothing sake. Killed 2 and 6 others with different degrees of bullet wound.. We don't hear 2%of crimes in phc and the government are not even concerned... God help us |
Same thing here. I was debited of 1000 naira just 2 days ago. I intend to call etisala today |
You display so much hatred bro. I stay in PHC and have not seen all these roads as claimed. Rather you see and witness robbery and insecurity everday. I have not seen any good aspect of this govt. dearsly: |
You just finished work. I love pictorial descriptions. Thanks autofreak1: |
Thanks for this bro. It might not actually be Hydrogen sulphide in this case. It could be Carbon monoxide and deprived O2. As H2S is not that present in Nigerian formation unless from caked products in the tank. RELEASEUS: |
THIS SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ISPON A professional body in Nigeria, Health and Safety Executives once proposed a bill to enforce safety measures at workplaces. This would have been a nice and essential thing to do. ...but like NAFDAC it would end in the wrong hands and become a tool for oppression. Sad incidence.[/quote] |
RIP to the dead. The safety and Welfare regulators in Nigeria have to leave up to their tasks. Underground hydrocarbon tanks are confined spaces and must be properly prepared to be worked in. There are lots of inherent hazards in such activities which may include presence of toxic substances like the LEL gases, CO2, hydrogen sulphide excess O2, etc. Other confined space hazards in this case may include collapse of subsurface, engress of underground water, limited egress and ingress space, etc. This activities, being potentially hazardous should have been covered with work permit and other complimentary docs, a rescue plan in place, an emergency by stander, competent personel, etc. The workers are also supposed be trained before embarking on such activities. People should know that if one don't plan for accidents, sure they will plan for one. We should spend more time on awareness and trainings... |
It's a pity. Sorry for the owner but please you guys should be sure that it is not bed flue or any other animal Virus. People should desist from feeding on dead animals |
Ever been embarrassed by these guys? The first was on my way back from a foreign trip with my woman and she needed to use the arrival lounge convinience at MMI. Early this morning again, Sumday Morning ooohhh! ,I was in local airport enrout PH and faced another dimension though with some sence of humour. I checked in very early at about 0700hrs so had the time to observe and write. I was in the mood of dropping some tins from back and decided to use the gents. on approaching the door, four young guys and two ladies, each with tissue paper were stationed at the door like arm guards. I would have dropped liver and reversed if I was a JJC but with my stern face, I approached. Ekeaeroo!, morning Sir, welcome sir!,welcome sir, u don come sir...were all sorts of greetings from thema. One of the guys even brought his hands to shake me...Johnny, how I tought how many toilets he must have cleaned with those hands this morning!. I held my hands but kept on nodding like a lizard to at least ensure each had one nod to complement their numerous greetings. As I entered, two of the guys joined me with their tissues. I opens the cubicles but meet no tissue and couldn't but laughed out loud. One immediately rushed and cleaned the bowl seat with his tissue and offered me a roll. I entered and did the needful. He stood there and waited while I did. When I came out to wash my hands..Guess what? No liquid soap. Another offers soap. I took and washed m y hands. I pretended leaving and said thank you..o boy, come see as the guys dey sing...ok sir, save trip sir, bye sir, safe trip sir...singing and following me...lol I had to turn back to at least give my Sunday offering. Tissue papper are meant to either be hanged close to the toilet bowl or be places around not to be issued by the attendants. I wish the Aiport Authorities will fix this and other embarrassments we face daily in our airports. I wonder what foreigners think when they face these too. Its too bad. From immigration to cart, to toilet attendants and then beggers outside. I still believe in Naija shaa
