Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, has advised the Super Eagles coaching crew not to be overly reliant on Emmanuel Emenike in the country’s quest for sustained glory.

The Atlanta ’96 Olympic football gold medal winner for Nigeria was the ‘Legend of the Night’ at the Heineken Champions Planet during the second leg semi-final match of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. He told a gathering of invited guests and consumers that as a former footballer, frequent injury to a player always has a lingering psychological effect. He wished Emenike could get back as soon as possible but in his absence, he cautioned that Nigeria must face the challenge of finding a suitable replacement for the crucial matches next month.

Emenike, who had been on the side lines since the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, returned to club action on Sunday. However, the attacker sustained fresh injury to his internal meniscus and partial damage to the internal lateral ligament of the knee.

“We are in a precarious situation for the World Cup qualifying matches, with the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil also in June. Having won the AFCON early this year, we have to sustain a high standard at the global level. Nigeria is blessed with potential from where we must find a replacement pending the return of Emenike. Becoming over-reliant on Emenike will equate us to a tag similar to the ‘No Messi, No Barcelona’ that the Catalan giants are currently living with now,” Babangida said.

The police at Sango Ota, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested a cow following the killing of a 24-year old man identified as Azeez Salako at Ilata area of Ota, a suburb of Ogun State.
It was gathered that youths in Ilata Ota were planning to hold a carnival on Saturday 27 April, 2013 and there was an argument between some of the youths which led to a fight and one of the boys identified as Dayo broke a bottle which he used to stab Salako in the neck and he bled to death.

When the police arrived at the scene of the fracas everyone had fled leaving behind the cow bought for slaughter during the carnival and the police arrested the cow and took it to the station where it is currently being detained. When P.M.NEWS visited Sango Area Command where the incident was reported, both the Area Commander ACP Titi Kayode and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Sango Division CSP Dibie were not available for comment. However, a source at the station who confirmed the incident on condition of anonymity said the suspected killer is on the run as no arrest has been made.

34 Year Old Man Charged With Raping A 3 Year Old Girl

A 34-year old man, Kehinde Paul Layode, has been arraigned before a family court in Ikeja for allegedly defiling a three-year old girl (name withheld). The incident, which happened at 3/5, John Crescent, Igando, Lagos,southwest Nigeria, was reported at the Igando Police Station. I Recently saw an advert on VHR, Virtual Human Resources. So i decided to go to their office at Godmon Estate, Okota today. to my suprise, it was a small rented apartment in a residential estate. i dont want to bore you with the long story.contains 3 staffs,looking very ?? it was obvious i was over dressed for the occasion. they told us, the applicants, that they are a health supplement company. like those pple dat do checkups with machines . . .i was jst lafn. in the end , they told us to pay 8k for health license, so that we can be a part of the project. later they said we can pay 2500, then they said we can quickly go to the bank to withdraw if we are not with money. They were so desperate to get some money . . . to me, its a total SCAM . . .so pls Keep off.. . . . .

Woman Delivers Baby in KEKE MARWA!

A woman, Mrs. Mutiat Aileru has delivered a baby girl in a tricycle in Abule-Egba area of Lagos. The woman delivered the baby at about 5p.m. The reporter was walking by the roadside near Awori bus stop when a woman suddenly ran out of the commercial tricycle, Keke Marwa and raised the alarm that her relative was delivering a baby inside the tricycle they had boarded.
