what u are experiencing is a STD.
Since u have seen a doctor.
Kindly continue with all prescription
Cos u are suppose to trust ur Doctor, at least a little.
Ur doctor didn't prescribe a cream for u
Don't apply any cream, could make it irritable and worst.
Those drugs takes care of general STD infections.
For it to get to this stage it has been on for more than 7 weeks.
Did u have fever or sore throat recently.
Are the wounds bringing out water or it looks like rash with water in it.?
Are they very painful or just itching?
There are natural tea that can help relieve pains.
In addition u can use panty liners to help ease itches.

y change feed for birds dt av laid for gud 25wks, be very careful.

But if u must do, it must be done gradually, u can start from 90percent old feed +10percet new , den 75 percent to 25percent, 50 to 50, gradually until u get to 100 to zero percent.

While doing dis place dem on multivitamin and ensure dey are at uptimum health status

My take on dis.

Shedding intestinal linings is quite different from cocci.

While shedding of linings is just light reddish, advance cocci is an obvious blood discharge, in d early stage it is browninsh and watery.

Intestinal linings comes early in d morning, I but cocci is continues in d day.

From my little but wide experience, I av not seen mortality from intestinal shedding but of course we know how deadly cocci can be.

Ever since, egg production has dipped. Today, I had just 4 crates and 23 piece. Vaccination has been up to date.

What was dre average weight, during ur rearing period did u sort the weak and small once aside to feed properly.

Birds lay with weight and Gud health.

If dey don't attain uniform weight together, u will av dis challenge

The vaccine couldn't have played a role as I didn't administer vaccine until the 11th day. Recall I stated the birds were dropping brown poo at the time I picked them up. A picture of their poop at day 3 in my custody is affixed for your perusal. Sorry about the gross image.

I have been following several post on d lost from birds especially dt of zartech

A lot of factors play Dre roles in poultry management.

Right from day old to sales, I am neither justifying the hatcheries but rather I wish to stress that our management b4 and after arrival of dis birds is key

B4 arrival, disinfect ur brooding room, heat up d environment, ensure dt ur antistress, multivitamin and even antibiotics are all ready.

Don't forget ur feed, ensure dt ur av enough feed for d first 3 days.

After arrival, keep close monitoring and don't just leave dem to ur care givers, continue with heating, administer antibiotics in first 5 days before vitamins and vaccines.

There are alot to be done on our part, al hatcheries av challenges once in a while.

And u know our country, dey will push dre problems to d market but when we are on guard, we will be able to reduce our lost to nearest minimum.

Poultry is a very useless business.....you guys here are misleading people I can vehemently say Dat poultry is not profitable.... I engaged in it.... With all the all stress Dat is involved I was not able to make good sales tho I sold all my birds.... I was lucky to even recoup capital.... People will price your birds ridiculously.... Kaiiii, just seeing ur post and I feel bad and bitter about ur experience.

Like every other business, poultry needs training and a good background understanding before u venture into it.

But unfortunately many of us just think it is about gathering chicken and buying food and drugs.

U need to understand d rearing and d marketing to enable u do well in dis business.

Both egg marketing and broiler sales are specialised marketing dt u need to understand.

I advice u stay around on dis thread and u will learn more.

Try and get cone feeders, u can conveniently hang dem.

Placing their feeders away from the floor will help reduce issues and save waste too.

N1,100 give or take N50. I'm in Owerri. This is based on regular DOC price of N250 per bird. Not Xmas price

I am always interested in this question of ' how much do I sell my broilers?, what should my profit margin be? '

Like every other business, we are in 4 profit. Unfortunately, many of us over estimate our profit, while others under price themselves.

There are 3 important questions.

1) What is the selling price in my environment?

2) what kind of market do I have

and lastly how much is my cost price?

Until u answer dis 3 questions, I believe u are not yet there.

Each area, I mean ur location is unique on its own.

Likewise the market u target is another thing u must understand, I have sold birds weighing as much as 3kg after slaughter and likewise less than 1kg.

Top of the questions, is how do u calculate ur cost?

Ur cost must include the cost of raising the birds u lost during productions, and the cost incurred until d last bird leaves ur pen.

Now u can sit down and see how profitable d business is for u in ur location. How

OK, thanks for the Advice, but I've bought Gumboro already since on Monday before noticing their behavior, but it's in the fridge - just wanted to know if they can be given that first, because that's what is on the schedule I was given at the vet store.

And for the drugs, I'm aware of resistance, I only had to end some medications prematurely because of the prevailing situation, it's not like I wanted to just load them with drugs, left to me I'm OK with just giving them vitamin treated water.
I'm going to let them be on vitamins for the next three days and see if they can be vaccinated by the weekend or earlier.

U should av given Gumboro on day 8, but no wahala.

Let us prevent d Gumboro which is a more deadly disease. Administer ur Gumboro vaccine and give dem multivitamin for 2days,

Anoda disease u should watch out for at dis age is cocci, for with anti cocci for 3 days, den give multivitamin for 1day den give lasota,

Don't just give drugs any how

Research has shown dt at certain ages dre are certain disease we can prevent, not to say dt other tins cannot happen ooooo

I av personally posted a day to day schedule on dis thread b4, kindly go back and read d thread from beginning it will help.

Looking at what u av done so far, I will advice u give dem multivitamin den administer lasota after which u give dem enough multivitamin for at least 2days.

Plus u av to maintain a healthy environment, I mean ur litter has to be neat, very neat and the room has to be airy enough.

Today is 14th November, and Christmas week is approximately 5 weeks from today.

Your birds are already 5 weeks old as stated above. I am strongly feel you do not need a fattener, all you need to do is continues feeding(none stop) with light available 24-7.

Get a good multivitamin like nebro, bio vit-plus etc , good bio security ensure your litter is dry ( no coccidiosis) and administer ur lasota as at when due, lastly de-worm the birds at five - six weeks.

I can confidently assure you, that you will get a good result.

I will like us all to always bear in mind that the birds we raise are for human consumption, as such all practice must b to standard.

Hmmmm,

Poultry feeds like we all know take more than 85% of our cost in poultry production. In fact I always tell pple coming in fresh to dis biz that you should just take it that you are selling feed.

Now your question, there are 2 ways to come about feed, commercial feeds or mill your self. Depending on your environment and how much u av in your pocket. For starters with little experience I advice you go with commercial feed from a REPUTABLE organisation, like topfeed, amo, vital feed and co.

For broiler production, you use starter and finisher, the basic difference between the 2 is the protein and energy composition.

For egg production, you will be saddled with chick mash or starter( i use starter, i dont use chick mash-- personal prefernce), grower which is low in protein content and finally the layers ration.

Honestly, if you intend milling your feed, i always advice you use a nutritionist. So many pple go about with different formulas which dey cannot explain or defend but they will tell u it works for them.

In poultry, it is good that you are able to identify the root cause of a problem to enable you address it well and reduce your risk

Buy birds from reputable farms and if you will use commercial feed, buy from reputable organisations with good trade marks.

like emmachile said, ask in ur vicinity, most frozen buy based on weight after dressing, dey don't buy on life weight.

Old do not sell below 1000 Naira/kg, if u want to make profit.

And u must be very observant when dey are scaling it.

This is actually coryza, how old are this birds.

If the broilers are above 6 weeks, while you treat with antibiotics,

Start working on selling them off, to control your cost-income ratio.

Disinfect your pen after selling them and give a little fallow period before bringing another set.
