More hypocrites showing their faces!

You have already concluded them that they can't be an independent nation, really? Based on what factors?

The Bini people said they don't want to be part of Oduduwa, why not leave them alone instead of all these blackmail and intimidation?

FYI, if the Bini people refuse to be part of Oduduwa, it automatically means you can't have Itshekiri too because you will have to get past Bini people to have access to Itshekiri and UN can't grant such.

Well, that's the decision of igalas themselves, if they want to go with Igbos fine, if they prefer Yorubas fine and If they wish you go with northerner people so be it.

As for Omoluabi wey i be, Yorubas are going with the 6 states of South west and with a referendum for Itshekiri (Delta), Kwara south and Kwara central, Kogi West and igalas

The igala people of Kogi state are part of the Yoruba race, the igala language is a branch of the yoruba language.

Igala people even though living in the middle belt of Nigeria have the same ancestors and share the same culture and traditions just like the ishekiri in the niger delta and the Bini people of Edo state.

The dialect of the igala people Idah, Imane, Ankpa, Dekina, Ogugu, Ibaji and Ife all have the same sounds and intonations with yoruba people even many yoruba people understand what an igala person is saying.

Igala language is a Yoruboid language.

Lagos Dethrones Nairobi As Africa’s Startup Capital As Ibadan Takes Nigeria’s

Lagos, Nigeria’s most populous city, has surpassed Nairobi, Kenya and is now the highest-ranking city in Africa, gaining 5 spots to 122nd. Kenya now ranks 136th.

Lagos among Top 50 global cities for E-commerce & Retail Technology

Lagos is also ranked in the global top 50 cities for E-commerce & Retail Technology and in the global top 100 for both Transportation Technology and Education Technology. The Nigerian city of Lagos has become the top African startup ecosystem, ranked 122nd after switching places with

Ibadan jumps 601 spots to rank 353rd globally

Ibadan, western Nigeria, saw a massive increase in ranking, jumping 601 spots to 353rd globally and 2nd in Nigeria, surpassing the Nigerian capital of Abuja. The latter, ranked 3rd nationally, fell 12 spots to 466th, while Port Harcourt decreased by 6 spots to 906th. The newest Nigerian city in the rankings, Enugu, ranks 978th globally and 5th nationally. Benin City has increased 9 spots to 979th, while Kano jumped 14 spots to 981st.

In total, Nigeria has 7 cities in the global top 1000 and continues to have the highest number of ranked cities of any African nation.

The Global Startup Ecosystem Index by StartupBlink has been updated annually since 2017 and is the world’s most comprehensive startup ecosystem ranking of 1000 cities and 100 countries. The Global Startup Ecosystem Index is built using hundreds of thousands of data points processed by an algorithm which takes into account several dozens of parameters.

RELATED
“As the world manages to slowly but surely innovate its way out of a devastating pandemic, it is clear that a new reality has emerged. Firstly, trends such as E-Commerce and remote work have accelerated at unprecedented speed, accelerating us toward an inevitable future where our digital presence is at times more dominant than our physical presence,” said CEO, StartupBlink, Eli David.

A notable increase in Africa is Nigeria now ranked 63rd globally. But overall, Nigeria still ranks behind South Africa that increased 4 spots to be ranked 48th globally. It will be the first time since this report was published, we have an African country in the top 50, StartupBlink noted.

Nigeria is the highest-ranking country in Western Africa and the 3rd highest ranking country in Africa.

US leads the world
The top 10 cities are San Francisco Bay, New York, Beijing, Los Angeles Area and London Others are Boston Area, Shanghai, Tel Aviv Area, Moscow and Bangalore. The US account for half of these The US leading the top 5 countries have all maintained their rank from last year, however, there are several deep changes and interesting insights. “Firstly, the United States maintains a massive lead over the 2nd ranked United Kingdom, showing a strong and dominant innovation scene across the 267 USA cities ranked in this report. Last year, the UK had a relatively large lead over the 3rd ranked country Israel, but this difference has now narrowed substantially with the UK and Israel having almost the same total score.

Brexit impacting UK ecosystem
For the first time since 2017, it seems that Brexit does have some negative influence on the UK ecosystem, which can also be seen in the rankings decline of London (more on that below). One more interesting development is a change in the group which we refer to as the “Big 4” Startup Ecosystems: the US, UK, Israel, and Canada. Canada is still ranked 4th, but it is now much closer to the solid ecosystem of Germany at the 5th spot than to the UK and Israel.

Governor Dapo Abiodun Commissions Oke-Lantoro-Elite-Idi-Aba Road

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has inaugurated a 2.1km Oke-Lantoro-Elite-Idi-Aba, on Wednesday, with an assurance that construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of intracity will continue in the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.

He submitted that the road which had been in a bad state for years was one of the first set of road projects initiated by his administration, as part of the commitment to the implementation of its Infrastructural Development Programme.

Abiodun said: “This project, Oke-Lantoro-Elite-Idi-Aba road, is 2.1 km in length. It will serve as an effective alternative and bye-pass to those who are coming from either Lantoro or Obantoko area or Asero and going to Idi-Aba or Ajebo road. They would not need to go through Iyana Mortuary Junction.

“This will not only serve the purpose of reducing travel time and resolving traffic gridlock, it will also enhance the quality of life of residents around this area and increase the value of properties and become a source of prosperity to the owners, which is a major anchor of our governance vision.

“Let me reassure our people that construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of intra-city roads will continue across all the 20 LGs in the state. We have reinvigorated the Ogun State Public Works Agency, OGPWA, to take on this challenge. We will continue to look out for, cater for and attend to the welfare, well-being and wellness of the people of Ogun no matter where they live in the state at all time.”

Governor Abiodun said the road which was chosen for rehabilitation by his administration in conjunction with the Community Development Associations, traditional rulers and other stakeholders, would drastically reduce travel time and resolve traffic gridlock.

While adding that the road was executed through direct labour under the supervision of Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA) to ensure minimal cost without compromising the quality of the job.

The governor emphasised that the method provided direct employment to the youth in the project catchment area and engage local suppliers of materials, thus supporting his administration’s agenda of socio-economic development of the state and individual prosperity of individual citizens.

He explained that his administration’s holistic and methodical approach to the infrastructural development of Ogun had informed the reconstruction of arterial roads linking the state with Lagos State, such as Ray Power Road and Ikola / Navy – Osi-Ota Road in Ota, Ijebu -Ode to Epe road, and Atan-Lusada-Agbara road which was flagged few months and due for completion next year.

The governor added that roads were being constructed in 18 out of the 20 Local Government Areas in Ogun, disclosing that via Transportation Masterplan the state will soon launch its ultra-modern mass transit bus system with the pilot scheme in Abeokuta metropolis.

While urging residents of the area to take ownership of the road and protect it from vandals, Abiodun disclosed that the reconstruction of Phase 2 of the road from Oke Lantoro to Isale Ake on the other side of the Moshood Abiola way, will soon be commenced.

“Furthermore, I have given a directive to relevant government agencies to dredge the canal that the water on this road drains into to ensure free flow of the drainage and preserve the life span of the road”, the governor added.

Former Governor of the State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, commended the governor for reconstructing the road for the benefits of the people.

Akeredolu Commissions 18 Units Of Motor Graders For The 18LGAs In Ondo

WE ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING ONDO AMONG FOOD BASKETS OF THE NATION - GOV AKEREDOLU

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said the state can be among the food baskets in the country if its potentials are fully harnessed.

Governor Akeredolu spoke on Thursday during the commissioning of 18 units of SEM-919 Motor Grader for the use of the 18 Local Government Councils in the State.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun; Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale; Special Adviser to Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Mr. Dare Aragbaiye; Commissioner for information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo, other members of the state executive council; APC leaders, all the 18 local government chairmen, traditional rulers, religious leaders, top government officials among several other dignitaries.

The Governor said one of his administration's policy thrusts encapsulated in the REDEEMED Agenda is Rural and Agricultural Development.

He added that meaningful development can only be achieved in the rural areas when adequate infrastructure is put in place.

“Infrastructure is, therefore, the bedrock of development of any society. Essentially, rural infrastructure encompasses among others, rural roads, water supply and electricity.

“Ondo State, no doubt, is an agrarian society. Our belief, therefore, is that if our potential is adequately harnessed, the State can be among the food baskets in the country.

"This informed our decision to make rural and agricultural development as well as provision of massive infrastructure part of our key programmes. Since the inception of our administration in 2017, tremendous efforts have been made in areas of provision of rural water and electricity across the State.

“The State equally bought into the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) which focuses on rehabilitation of rural roads and associated capacity building of institutions with the mandate to provide and maintain rural transport infrastructure. The State has completed all its paper work and the programme will soon fully take off,” the Governor said.

Governor Akeredolu disclosed that each local government council will have one grader, noting that rentage of graders by the council chairmen to grade rural roads has now become a thing of the past.

He called for proper use and deployment of the equipment, particularly in grading rural roads to ensure easy movement of farm produce to the urban areas and reduce the cost of foodstuffs.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Sheik Yayi Akorede and the Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas, Oba Frederick Akinruntan represented by Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Oba Oluwole Adetimehin, lauded the Governor for providing good leadership in the state, even as they encouraged him to continue his good work in the interest of the state.
