The only thing keeping this country together is the exploitation of mineral resources. The proccedes of this enterprise are stolen by the political and economic elite, to the detriment of Nigeria as a whole. If the sale of fossil fules ceases to be economically viable Nigeria will not last ten minutes, Nigeria is just a big joke, but nobody's laughing now. If the Yaradua and Obasanjo governments failed to appreciably improve the lot of the average Nigerian with a oil prices soaring over a hundred dollars, I fail to see how the present unambitious government will make any impact with prices hovering around thirty nine dollasr per barrel, It's easy to see there's no future for Nigeria. |
What is bad in buying government houses when you have the money? Afterall, she won a lot of International Awards with monetary rewards attached to them. Haba, that a person has integrity doesn't mean that she shouldn't have money now. Posted on: Today at 03:24:11 AMPosted by: Ruddyface @ Ruddyface There's nothing wrong with buying government houses if you can afford them, however the process of aquiring these properties were fraudulent both. Belivers in Dora (like me) would expect our dear Prof to be above board and not be involved in such. It was very nauseating for people like me to watch her campaign so vigourusly for Yaradua, did'nt know she was a PDP member? She's been at the helm of affairs at NAFDAC for over 5 years now despite her threats to resign , following her brush with death. She has'nt broken any rules by accepting this appointment, however it's clear to see she could be so much more effective elsewhere. Prof Dora is a politician pure and simple in the mold of , I would say a Fani Kayode, I wish her all the best. |
Prof Dora Akunyili has always been one of them. She's just an attention hungry fraud. I lost all respect for her when I saw her in Benin Campaigning for Yaradua. She was also listed as one of the beneficiaries on Government house to be sold. It might interest you to know she purchased that property in Ikoyi at over a Hundred Million Naira. She's just a fraud, simple and short. Anyone with a little integrity would have rejected it. |
My brother I fail to see how this arrangment solves any problems, this proposal as far as I see it has nothing to do with improving the exploitation of Nigeria's mineral resources but every thing to do with enriching those who can aford controlling shares when this company goes public |
Adeboye and his bretheren, have nothing in common with those selfless missionaries who came to Africa, at great personal peril to bring the gospel and develpoment to Africa. This is not the gospel they brought. I have not seen the "NEWSWEEK 50 MOST INFLUENCIAL PEOPLE LIST" but I'm sure he has'nt used his so called influence for the betterment of the common man in Nigeria. By speaking out against social ills and championing the cause of the needy and voiceless, issues which Jesus himself would 've been interested in. It seems to me he Adeboye has a knack for getting in good with politicians but hey, you have to be a great politician to balance the often conflicting interests of members othe RCCG Organisation, If Nigeria Improves just a bit and the demand for hope declines, Adeboye and the like will be irrelivant but then again he could just adjust his game to fit in with the spirit of the times. |
The truth is Adeboye and the like represent a breed of religious con men. People who have mastered thr art of marketing (False) Hope. I f you observr closely you'll see that the propertiy gospel on which Adeboye and the like have built their religious empire, boasting numerous branches, media companies , Schools and other investments is nothing more than religious capitalism. This system is only loyal to the bottom line and really has no tranfromational quality. Just look at Nigeria, the majority of church goers are simply looking for a way out of one problems or the other.Adeboye and the like know this and continue to love-vendor them. My father was educated by missionaries, I |
Adeboye and the like have nothing really in common with Jesus. They are just ptofiting from the collective ignorance of Nigerians, who really believe the God will come down from heaven and fix our roads, house the homeless and solve all our problems, which for the most part are man made. The ability of Adeboye and the like to convince people of this is the foundation of their power. A word of advice to all my people, BE CAREFUL OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE ANSWER NO MATTER THE QUESTION AND BELIEVE IN A NEAT LITTLE WORLD. Year after year, "God" seems to be interested in having an all you can eat (at these religious programmes) tot which we are all invited. These programmes merely strenghten the churches brand and fill it's coffers with very eager money. In the name of God they rob and steal, no wonder JESUS in the scriptures admonishes us to call no man father(daddy). Adeboye shopuld come out and use his celbrity for the good of humanity by denouncing what needs to be denounced instead of (in my opinion sucking up to )the powers that be, while carefully maintaing his image as the gentle, quiet ,humble M.O.G, loved by all. |
It's really sad in Nigeria that for the most part the only people crying out againdst the injustices in Nigeria are atheists and muslims, where are all the born again pastors? THEY'RE IN THEIR CHURCHES counting their gold coins. The truth is that this unfortunately does not apply to just christian leaders in Nigeria alone. There was a socio- political uprising led by the monks in BURMA, did'nt hear of any christian or leaders suporting the brave monks. In Nigeria Adeboye and the like pray for thisURUPT LOT and then come and preach to you and me about a soon comming change, because we are the only ones gulible enough to swallow that crap. I don't have anything against Adeboye and the like but when you derive your legitmacy from God, you should expect to be held to a higher standard. If Nigerian paSTORS change Nigeria has a better chance of changing. When a pastors welfare is tied to the benevolence4 of the congregaton, it seriously compromises his ability to speak the truth. Truth which may not necessarilly endear him to his audience. Historically people do not always like to hear the truth. |
@GETTYSBURG Your jibe about me beign financially hit was unduely personal and you need to keep this conversation professional and intellectual. If you read my post again you might see there's a point to all of this. You don't have to bump this but please respect it. In my opinion the RCCG IS JUST A BUSINESS VENTURE, same as other manifestations of organised religion. The protagonists of these religious sects are usually the greatest beneficiaries of their benevolence, dam shame. |
ofcourse I say all of this respectfully ![]() |
ofcourse I say all of this respectfully ![]() |
I have read every word of this discussion, here's my 10 cents. I was a member of RCCG for many years but the truth as I see it is Pastor Adeboye's romance with OBJ and his failure to stand up for truth in a country so in need of someone to lead the charge, has erroded any credibility he has. I see him expanding his empire and charging a king's ransome for educaction in the name of JESUS. Was this how the early missionaries did it? where are the hospitals, skill aquisition centers and free schools majority of his followers need? Yet he has enough money to fund his university on the back of false promises of divine blessing. I'd like to see him and the like fix the global financial crisis( that would be something) Now he is twisting the scriptures to justify paying tax (to the delight of the powers that be) I did'nt hear him speak out when fuel prices were raised and my people needed a voice, all because he could not risk betraying his aristocratic benefactors, It's a dam shame we've all been had ![]() |
shame on this country, Atiku, Buhari inclusive. This country is , just can't find the words ![]() |
The undeniable truth is that Ribadu is only a victim of himself and an example of the failure of the Obasanjo regime ( along with the missing satalite ) I remeber him publicly saying IBB will never rule this contry. Now I'm not an IBB sUPPORTER BY A LONGSHOT!!! but was it his business to say that? is he saying that he and some people can some how influence who becomes President?, The Fool Ribadu should'nt have to look too far for his assailants, The lack of transparency that characterised the EFCC under his watch, won't score him any brownie points in my book, The anticoruption war waged by the obasanjo regiem was a huge joke, so is Ribadus insinuations that he is beign witch hunted, He's just getting a taste of his own medicine. |
I feel no compasion for Ribadu, it's funny all this is happening under the nose of Yaradua ( the champion of "rule of law" . Shame on Obasanjo, Shame on Yaradua, Shame on Nigeria, The biggest fool in Africa. ![]() |
relax hotchic may'be we should hangout some time. I could intoduce you to a friend or two. I admire you're get up and go , keep doing you ![]() |
Madam Dora is a bloddy politician don't be fooled |
I understand how you feel, however I think you're seeing only what you want to see.If all you've posted is true then he led to you point blank and that's the truth. Another heart to heart with him willl be in order. Never be afraid to walk away. |
To enlighten u, 90% of the Real Sector of the Nigerian Economy has been stagnant for close to two decades now. Apart from Oil & Gas, telecoms, real estate & the typical importation/buying & selling, what else is working? Our textile mills r down?, Our steel sector is dead, we can't even generate enough power to adequately serve a quarter of Lagos Even the Unilevers of this world r gradually importing their products from the Ghana setup. Oh yes, i forgot, our mega banks aint giving no long term loans to the SMEs that need em. All in all the economy is stagnant, they say HE THAT IS DOWN SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF FALLING So i_laugh, do u need further explanation. ROGER THAT ![]() |
It's wonderful to hear form you,, however I'm not loking to just play religious music (I'm a christian too) I feel it's limiting , just looking to hook up with a violinst to try out some tunes I've been working on. Are you male or female and are you in Lagos. |
The Musical Chairs of Chop make I Chop Continues. The aforementioned 20 have been deemed to have consumed enough to either satisfy them for now, or provide them with base for their further political aspirations. Another 20, maybe more if u add Niger Delta, will come in to continue the jamboree. Long Live Nigeria AND SO WHAT, IT TOOK HIM ALMOST 2YEARS TO DO SOMETHING AND HE STILL MISSED OUT THE REALLY BAD ONES, NIGERIANS WE NEED TO PRAY OOOOOOOOOOOO BEFORE WE ALL FALL INSIDE WELL ![]() |
The truth is we s a people have failed at almost every thing wew have collectively ventures into. The GOVERNMENT AND THE RELIGIOUS Leaders are the most culpable. It should not suprise anyone that we as a people are where we are, nobody believes in Nigeria that's why your leaders act the way they do. |
Do yo uplay the violin? and want to hook up with a guitarist? |
with a humble heart and a great sense of responsibility i accept this heavy burden and promise to carry it bravely ;d |
@agaba123 and IBIME I can understand the good will you have towards Obama, he is trully an inspiratonal figure, however can you point out any young intelegent capable politician in the mold of Obama strutting the political stage in Nigeria and Africa as a whole?, That's the problem you and I should be confronting . Obama is a wonderful breath of fresh air, full of promise and the main reasons why he is so popular is because the republicans have made such a mess of things(the Economy and foreign policy) and ofcourse his race. I am particularly happy and dimpressed that the Obama campaign organisation dsowned the fund raiser organized by you know who. we need people like that in our politics, That's my point. |
Is this the same Colin Powell who took a lie to the UN in defense of a senseless war, which has cost three Trillion dollars and thousands of American and Iraqi lives, no to mention the so called coallition of the willing? If this is the same guy where wwas his sense of right and wrong then? |
To all my African Obama lovers I have some hard truths to tell: 1. Under an Obama Presidency U.S Policy towards Africa will not change. Rember the U.S economy is in a recession (though the white house for obvious political reasons will not want to publicly admit this), this policy can only become more extractive as the U.S competes with China for resources and influence in Africa. Obama can do nothing about this. 2. In the business of empire building and world domination there are no gentle giants. Empires are not built by goodwill, more so as America does not have the near total hegemony it once had. It now has to deal with a resurgent Russia ( powerd principally by natural resources) and China. Brazil , South Africa and India are also making their claim for more respect. Obama can do nothng about this. 3. The fixation of Africans on American culture and politics is so ridiculous. Take the Director General of the N.S.E actively campaigning and raising funds for Obama and her really stupid defense!!! it get even more bizarre, do you know that in Benin republic their is a public holiday know as the GEORGE Bush day? this is a country with out a Kwame Nkrumah or Steven Bikko day , or even an African liberation day. Do you also know know that Nelson Mandela was only last year taken of the U.S State Departments list of terrorist?4. Afica has been left behind and continues to lag behind largely because of the insincerity of it's leaders who have done more injustice to their fellow Africans than any colonial master did. If Africa is to succed an intellectual revolution must take place, that's why ofcourse "they" keep our schools underfunded and closed and open up the motor parks, Obama owes Africa nothing. 5. Africa must stop interacting with the rest of the world on the the platform of foreign aid. For this to happen we must create the conditions for a lot more African Obama's to emerge. |
the failure that is OBASANJO |
