I'll just add me 10 cents to this thread. I think penticostal in general don't have a good grasp of the fundamentals of politics and not realistic, Look at what Mr. Bush has done to the American and world economy!!! over 3 trillion dollars in Iraq alone, He was put there by the evangelical lobby and people like John Hagee are now openly endorsing John Macain. America need to move in a new direction and Mr Macain is not the man for the Job, Please don't be too hard on Bakare he needs these pronoucements to be seem relivant, It is my personal conclusion that penticostal christianity in Nigeria is just one big lie, the Adeboye's and Oyedepo's of this world have built empires in the name of Jesus and live in stupendous opulence in the midst of grinding poverty. The Adeboye's and Oyedepo's are the real charlatans, in the name of God they grow richer and the people become poorer(how else can you afford a private Jet in the midst of a persistently rising cost of energy) at least Bakare is want to have periodic bouts of honesty. and when he feels like it he tells the truth, just my opinion ![]() |
Oh yes my brother Adeboye is a celebrity, no wonder he needs $20 million dollars to buy a private jet, only celebs do that ![]() |
@leeport I quite agree, I was disgusted seeing Pastor Adeboye, in my opinion making a fool of himself, THERE'RE PLENTY OF WORTHIER CAUSES HE COULD HAVE LENT HIS CELEBRITY TO , SHAME |
@texazzpete. My dear brother, seems you have your thinking skull on, here's a thought for you to ponder on, Slavery has always been around, even in the Bible times and provisions were made in the Law of Moses for the treatment of slaves. So according to you if the sellers and buyers of slaves are part of the same coin, may'be God missed something? I don't subscribe to slavery and think it's evil, I rank it at par with segrgation and tribalism. My argument is an apology by the whoever about slavery, may give us all a warm fuzzy feeling but it does not change anything . I live in the third world and when I see what Africans do to each other,in the name of tribalism etc, it's clear to me that our problem has nothing to do with the white. The recent zenophobic attacks in South Africa, cannot be blamed on the white man. In my opinion, slavery, tribalism, nepotism, zenophobia are all the same. They are manifestations of man's inhumanity to man. As for your reference to the activities of the Ctholic institution, well they have many thing to apologise and be ashamed of, I say all of these very respectfully. ![]() |
Slavery was a feature of pre-colonial African tradition, As I see it the white man just exploited and improved upon what we already were practising. I wish I could blame the white DEVIL for all our woes but it's my own kind doing all the killing here.(RUWANDA, CONGO, and most recently South Africa). The black man need to take responsibility for his development and look away from the IMF and the World bank, they were set up to protect the interests of their Patrons, which are principally the victorious forces of the the second world war, Shame on Arica and it's leaders |
The truth is Africans should look in the mirror, slavery could not have happened without the active connivance of fellow Africans , Hundreds of years later we're still enslaving and discriminating against each other, Though we call it a different name (TRIBALISM). We're all black but we still find avenues for discrimination, African leaders who plunder their own countries are no different from those slave owners of yester-years. WE ALL SHOULD LOOK IN THE MIRROR. |
I feel you bro. Is this the better service Soludo, told us the consolidation would bring. The S.E.C should stop this roberry. ![]() |
The Dave Matthews Band is my pick for the best band in the world |
I recently had to make a quick withdrawal from a You.B.A branch in Lekki phase one.Unfortunately the ATM machine at that particular branch was out of service, I approached the customer care attendant and requested a withdrawal slip(usually this is accomapanied with a small charge). I was blown away when I was told that the service charge was N650(SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY NAIRA). As I only intended to withdraw N2000,didi'nt see the point in going on with the transaction. It's not my fault that the UBA server was down, not my fault it rained but it is my fault that my money is in that bank , I think N650, IS TO EXORBITANT a fee to charge for given me a slip of paper to withdraw money from my account, What do y'all think? |
@Gamine, I think I know you, wanted to ask you some things I did'nt want to say here, Please accept my invitation to chat on yahoo(you just rejected my earlier invite). |
My dear Gamine, and black people love each other? |
SHAME ON NIGERIA, THE BIGGEST FOOL IN AFRICA, we trully deserve the with Leaders we have, This ship is taken in water ![]() |
I agree, however you can't hate what made you rich. |
I'd like to know the capital projects these banks are funding? the consolidation is a good thing in principle but I think it was rushed and not effectively implemented. Bank PHB's funding,UK education for those who meets their reqirements and interest rates, is quite ingenious but really has nothing to do with development. Soludo got it wrong |
I might be mistaken but i was under the impression you graduated from Convenant University. Is this the case? I apologise if I'm proved wrong |
My dear Gamine, I can understand your position, seeing you are closely affiliated with Convenant University and the whole Living faith gamut. However if you dispasionately look at Oyedepo you'll se he's nothing but a ruthless capitalist, I say all of this respectfully ![]() |
My father was educated by missionaries, he was the son of a very poor man, where he born in contempory times,he would never have the oppurtunity afforded him by those Godly missionaries, What Oyedepo and Adeboye are douing in the name of Jesus, is the same thing thoses religious merchants did in Jesus's day, for which he drove them out of the temple, Shame on them. |
Personally I have lost all respect for Oyedepo , Adeboye and the like, they had a very good oppurtunity to stand for truth, but they publicly romanced and helped launder the image of Obasanjo and the like (the prophets of old would turn in their graves seeing what 21st century 'men of God' have become). They did not say a word publicly to oppose the wickedness in this country. When I look at those in the vanguard of change in this country, those taking the bullets. Change that will make a difference in the lives of common people, I don't see Adeboye, Oyedepo and the like, Their primary interest is the advancement of their empires. The marriage of Oyedepo's son does not put food on my table.Sure they can afford to be married. God seems to be biased when sharing his 'blessings' Don't understand why anybody waste their time posting this, it's just sickning |
Obasanjo and all those penticostal pastors who helped to launder his image, are a shame and disgrace, Yaradua on the other hand has been a faliure thus far. I personally don't expect anyything positive from him, he seems genuilely overwhelmed. The political class has failed and continues to fail. The ordinary man should take his destiny into his hands and stop patronising all these motivational pastors (theives) who real god is their belly ![]() Some of them now want to buy private Jets amidst back breaking poverty in Nigeria.SHAME. |
I'd like to see Adeboye and the like trun water to wine and multiply loaves of bread befroe they get their private jets |
I'll just throw in my 10 cents to this discusson. $20 million on a jet for the propergation of a gospel which does not seem to have any moral and social impact on Nigeria and Nigerians, is nothing but a sham. Even the queen of England does not have a private jet, because she does not need only. Secondly the environmental and maintainance costs will exceed $20 million, who will bear this cost? There are more pressing problems which have to be adressed, shame on Adeboye and most penticostals, there're nothing but hypocrits. If you need $20 millon for a private jet ask God to provide it stop milking the already over milked sheep, they are not a financial asset. Penticostalism in Nigeria is nothing but sheer materializim, for all the noise we make about prosperity we are the poorest set of Nigerians, I say all of this very respectfully. ![]() |
DO YOU PLAY THE GUITAR OR JUST LOVE IT ? pls holler ![]() |
Our so called mega churches, have money for universities and private jets, and it seems not enough money for hospitals. The schools they own and run are way out of the league of the people who really need them.Thank God the early missionaries who brought the gospel to us were'nt like our modern day fathers of faith, with their private jets and convoys, According to their articles of association these churches should be charity organizations,I'd like to ask what percentage of church income goes to charity? It's a shame that the church in Nigeria focuses more on meaningless revivals ,which mostly serve to increase the number of worshipers, and pay lip service to providing an altrnative to the moral decadence which is currently raviging Nigeria. Revivals are good but not an alternative to speaking out for truth in the larger society. Jesus did it and they killed him,our men of God fraternize openly with know fellons and pray for them. May'be I should'nt judge but this is my opinion, you won't find me in their churches,it's all political. |
I personally recommend the following DMB songs Crash into me Lie in our graves(especially the live version with Trey Anastasio) Dream girl American baby Grey street Proudest monkey Where are you going So dam lucky Tripping Billes standup you might die trying |
The Dave Matthews Band are one of the biggest bands in America and I dare say the world. They're not a typical industry band. Their popularity has been more of a function of word of mouth, first class musicianship and wonderful live performances,as supposed to glitzy public relations gimmics employed by most industry bands. They've used their fame and fortune to support numerous worthy causes, like hunger ,global warming and child trafficing. They're a great band and wonderful individuals. |
Do you know how many bags of cement I had to carry just to be able to buy a recharge card, and send you a text, only for you to spurn my advances by not replying one go so many devils hardly seems fair ![]() |
