Here they don't have an independent retailers store like the rest..its always tucked inside a mall......most supermarket product are even cheaper than those in ShopRite..so tell me why do I have to drive all the way to the mall amidst Lagos never ending traffic to get what I could easily get from my street for about thesame price or cheaper and still get to save gas/fuel..

Supermarket is also a very lucrative business in Nigeria but you must understand the environment.

For example, those living in Maryland and Ikeja have so many supermarkets surrounding them before ShopRite. Most are within the residential areas but ShopRite is mostly located along major roads and in commercial areas.

Nobody wants to be caught up in traffic hence will rather get things needed in supermarkets closer to his/her house.

ShopRite should also concentrate on mini mart within estates and residential areas. Then, dem go blow.

All.of ShopRite stores are located in malls...they should go to Ikeja and build just 5 independent supermarket and in a year they would be looking for space to build ten more...even in the poorest of place in Lagos independent supermarket are making serious profit...they are more than ready to abadone that road dude shop and stroll into a super market to shop...and good thing is they end up buying more cos they would budget for it..
