Austine1212: You dont depopulate you build other economic centers in various parts of the country this reducing thethe migration to lagos
Investment goes to lagos cos development happens there, it will take more than a rail to stop that, develop idaban and adeokuta, make it attractive for more people to stay.
Lagos will always lack cos thethe migration rate acceded the economic rate
I think your government is giving dangote too much economic power over keyeconomic sectors don't you think so?
It's already happening...Already Ibadayhas gradually started Implementating her newly established urban masterplan.....I think they' ve received some funding funding (not loan) from World bank .
Roan7: I'm so glad it's not a government project, you know it was initiated by the previous government, as anniversary to Nigeria, but i'm glad it's now a PPP funded project.
It's only has govt backing like providing free lands to investors..
rvp20182: That is hyperbole. I have already told you they are 10-15 yrs. Light years would be a billion years or what. Nairobi is catching up with Joburg. Nairobi metro is catching up with Gauteng. 10yrs min. 15yrs max. Assuming the current trajectory for both cities are maintained.
Austin are you seeing this
The fastest developing bloc/province in SA is supposedly gradually having a competitor
Lol this is funny...with Athi river development and shiity Roysambu I think
jln115: Yes YOU have told me.....If YOU have forgotten you are just a random nobody on an anonymous thread!! I'm glad you are so patriotic about Kenya!! but don't be like Sammy and let your patriotism get in the way of you seeing the actual facts on the ground
rvp20182: I realize South Africans are like Americans and Nigerians. They are immersed in this miasma of self-delusion that they are the greatest because they are surrounded by mediocrity. I find Kenyans more worldly - Kenyans knows everything about anything.
For most of them - this thread is the first time they know anything about kenya beyond athletics.
They are like Nigerians here - shocked when they see what Kenya has done and is doing.
Roan7: Yeah i get your point, but you know Lagos is most economical hub in west Africa, if not in the whole Africa, i maybe wrong, and so depopulating it won't be that easy, because a lot of investments has been put in there from the locals, but i do hope with the new rail linking lagos to Ibadan, and Abeokuta, the population will be little reduced, because some people prefer living in these neighboring states, than living in lagos, but still prefer working in lagos, because there is a lot of money, and opportunities there. But Lagos hope to also complete the light rail, to reduce the traffic congestion on the major roads, and also the sea ports coming up in other states, might reduce traffics on lagos major roads by trailer users.
Lol the south african companies are making inroads into africa beyond
SA headquarting companies is of good infrastructure and market, basically SA is like Australia we far from anything, it does not make sense having a headquarter so far that's wherewhere geography comes in
SA does not headquarter NGO what would theythey be doing in SA?
Kenyans need NGO TO survive..it's like their fvcking life support...the lifeblood of their existence..
Austine1212: Lol economic capital did you say? Did you say economic?
The Unicef, doctors without borders, red cross etc might as well set up camp there the do so much there already lol Why would they be headquartered in Botswana? They not needed
Lol I chose to ignore his drivel on economic capital.... Kenyans just have to stop dreaming and know their place on the grand scale of things..
rvp20182: [s]I know Nigeria because you don't have skyscrapers as we do in Nairobi - you're almost an.al about having them. Nairobi skysrappers don't need any pushing - there is already enough of them - and there is organic growth.
The upcoming new cities in Nairobi and Mombasa are not about creating another traffic and population mess. They are about creating world-class cities that are stress-free - with lots of open spaces - and are self-contained - with retails, schools, hospitals, airstrips, golf course etc.
Tatu city - the main pitch is industrial location - with mixed-residential areas - and a section for office and commercial center. Northland City - the main pitch is also an industrial location - with mixed-residential areas Konza Technopolis - the main pitch is technology and research. Vipingo - main pitch here is industrial and resorts - sit next to the beach - and also mixed development.
These are the way to go. I have bought into Tatu and will soon buy into Vipingo. And once Konza starts - I will definitely try.
Your Eko Atlantic is dead on arrival because filling up one high rise is no joke; without the formal private sector.
Lagos even before Eko Altantic already has an oversupply in office space. Outside a few oil and banking companies - who will rent office space
You will have informal traders in those skyscrapers or have them empty like you have in Cocoa House, Independent House, and many of the rest that are moribund.
Nairobi is attracting MNCs and Global NGOs from the world - who are snapping those grade A offices, world class residence, hotels and malls. What is Lagos attracting? Nothing outside the few tech companies in Yaba.[/b]
I stopped reading this wall of texts the minutes you said said upcoming cities in Nairobi and mombasa are becoming world class...lol wtf is did you just say.. according to you your hope of creating a world class ,smart, sci-fi kinda city that rival those in I US is the meagre , extremely tiny Tatu estate with 30 red and yellow ugly buildings.... Lol dream on while you are at it I can assure you for free that you can be never produce a world class smart city like very few African countries are struggling to...at best you will end up like shiity hillbrow of today and that is if you put in your best efforts for decades....
kikuyu3: The price of limited brainpower while constantly surrounded by mental midgets is harsh I KNOW but how long while this continue? "You are high in early morning urine." "You are high in early morning urine." "You are high in early morning urine." "You are high in early morning urine." "You are high in early morning urine." "You are high in early morning urine."
Even for THIS place its abnormal!
Ode it's actually "YOU ARE HIGH ON EARLY MORNING URINE".... Now you can go ahead and complete that suicidal exercise if it annoys you..
gallivant: Kenyans have refined tastes. More so also deep pockets to make renders reality. I cant wait for oil prices to rebound, I am tired of renders and broken dreams from Nigerians.
The noise as usual...see dude there is nothing luxurious about Tatu city so far , same goes for those hideous block style highrise from the other day..
kikuyu3: [s]What the entire fvck do you mention this 5x daily!?[/b] At this point I'm hoping its not a secret Naij culture you should've kept quiet about! Srsly, what the actual fvck?[/s]
I hope you are aware that you said nothing of importance.....just off point noise..
Yeah I have visited that site some Months back when I first heard of it and this mere residential project is nothing new to me...you had your opportunity with Tatu to build a world class environment but you missed used that opportunity and built something that is relatively close to those houses Uhuru built in kibera..the only difference is the colour...
Like I say talk is cheap..go on your knees and pray Kenya gets to half the modernity Eko Atlantic is operating on.... Now that's the true definition of world class, first world futuristic smart city...
Yeah renders that is gradually becoming a reality...you had you renders and so far you've made it a reality yet it's still ugly despite being funded by thesame developers...what does that tell you about Kenya's taste..
PROVERBZ: i love alaro city. Infact, probably more than you do cuz I'm always on the website looking and admiring the project and how fast it's going.
Let me tell you alar
Tatu city is a satellite city. Rendevour, just like that other project put in just 250million USD to build infrastructure then it allows developers to boulder what they want. Same with alaro city, which is the city I like to compare Tatu city with.
While eko Atlantic a mega city spent 6billion USD to build nfrastructure and some of the towers there cost 250 million to build.
Have you seen the render image of Alaro..it is better than anything Kenya can ever wish for.... Heck I can't even compare it with ilubirin....maybe Amen Estates is a worthy contender..
rvp20182: Tatu City on 2nd phase - 1st Phase is now completely sold out - 2,500 acres - now into next 2,500 acres. Eko Altantic that began in 2006 still on two lonely towers.
Even with the first phase completed yet it still looks ugly like every thing else in Kenya...heck I would prefer those forest houses in Karen over the ugly red and white 30 buildings of about 5 ugly floors.... Obviously Alaro would be more modern and world class than this....so sad that we share the same investors but different taste in world class development....
