There was a 3yr lull but private credit this last Q has risen 12%...Nairobi had the most skyscrapers under constructionb in Africa..and now that rate capping is out...expect Nairobi construction boom to resume full stream and in 10yrs Joburg will be have been.There is a reason why Nairobi was named the 6th fastest/dynamic city in he world breaking the Asian monopoly .Now imagine public and private investment in Nairobi housing deficit plus all the new superhighways.We just need a light rail and Nairobi will soon be Africa capital city.

Namibia and South Africa are on same level...those are proper middle class.Any east African knows Nairobi is the London of Africa.There is no city even close...in the region.Nairobi in 10 yrs will overtake Joburg.The challenge is already on....if we fix the housing and infrastructure deficit like we are doing..then Nairobi will emerge as Africa best city.We need 2m housing units built in next decade in the metro plus light rail and we will be there.

Our cities admittedly are some ways to get to developed world or south Africa level but compared to anything you have in Nigeria or entire west Africa..they are miles ahead.
