theenchanter: lol, stop getting urself worked up over nothing.
Ur report says 8.3m consumers applied for meter (i.e prepaid meter) and only 3.8m were given in 2018, leaving a big gap on distribution of prepaid meter last year.
Every nigerian energy consumer is metered, some are postpaid and some are prepaid. Ur report is about those that applied for prepaid meter. So that's what the goat has been hanging on.I didn't even bother to open the link most especially when it is coming from an unrepentant foolsEnglish and simple reasoning is his problem |

Yobeezy: There's a bone of contention with the map and only little trust can be derived from it.Nigeria's electrification rates has never clinched beyond 55%, that's an open lie even if you confirm from the net.For Kenya it's fine, the rate was 64% in 2017 even if you confirm from different sources. Nobody is fighting with you, just acquit yourself with facts and stop being overzealous for nothing. I have one question for you " DID WE PROVIDE THE MAP" ? So why are discrediting it because it didn't suit your lies. So now you call it an open lie huh. And this is coming from so.eine who always shout "let's deal with facts" you are such an hypocrite. We are sorry we are now rolling at 64% |

rvp2018: Kenya indeed started from such a low base and then conducted the world fastest electrification ever seen....faster than when US was electrifying in 1920-30s.You can learn from Kenya if Ghana is a hard to swallow.But first you need to fire Yemi Kale then conduct baseline survey to establish just how terrible the situation...then start crawling out of that rat hole slowly Save us the history ..we are talking a out the link but yeah you are trying to distract him from the argument with thus history when he has trashed your lies to the waste bins. Wtf 15%... I think you should be talking About that not history |

Come on shut up ..there is nothing like NERA but NERC (Nigeria electricot regulatory commission) ..This shows you are now frustrated to the point you are now cooking up thing. I told you you will end up like this |

Yobeezy: Your facts are wrong, Kenya's electrification rates is currently over 75% and I guess we're around 79-83% gauging from the intensive electrification programme which have been taking shape since 2017. Kenya is on the path of implementing last mile connectivity project to clinch 100% universal electricity access by 2022, just the recent launch of Africa's largest wind farm power project is a big player towards this ambitious project. Kenya is among the top ten tiers of renewable energy in the world.
While Nigeria's current electrification rate is 55%. 2030 is the year your government has dedicated to achieve universal electricity access a time when Kenya's electrification rates will be over 200% now that our government has also laid plans to invest in nuclear energy before 2028.
Electrification rates;
Ghana - 83% Kenya - 75-81% Nigeria - 55% Tanzania - 33%
See lies everywhere. Some strong self deluded lies like those ones always told by rvp |

rvp20182: Before we go to kenya - Let digress....to the laggard NIGERIA>
Nigeria has always claimed to have about 50-60% of electricity access. Of course, we know such data is doggy because your NEPA would have like 25-30M customers. I assume an average of 5-6 individuals per household in a 180-200m population - roughly 40-50M households.
Can you gives us breakdown of electricity connection in Nigeria - number of customers in those power (less) companies.
Kenya in 2002 had 12% of it's citizen connected to electricity. KPLC (Kenya Power Co) had I think about 300,000 customers. Right now KPLC have more than 7M customers (Households).Kenya has made TREMENDOUS progress in electricity connection and has been lauded for that.
Kenya has population - 47-50M (we will know in 3 months after census next week) - with about 12M households. As we speak we still have about 4M households...roughly 16m people (4 individual per household) not connected to electricity.
We are razing towards connecting that 4M household either to main or off-grid solutions so we can achieve universal electricity access. Then we will worry about the prices & consumption. Our power is already very reliable and stable.
Let us not talk about blackouts and generators for now. Hahaha you want to break down nigeria power sector now, the last time you tried something like this it didn't go down well with you as you were ashamed when kenya stats was released..I hope sgr, $30bn agricultural,cooked gdp; best roads,best city infastructure behind SA rings a bell . I see you going down this lanes and being disgraced again |
