With a population 4 times that of Nairobi, Lagos has a GDP only slightly above twice that of Nairobi. See? That's it now. You can't compare the richest part of Nigeria to the whole of Kenya. If you have to do comparisons compare the richest to the richest. Nairobi has a disproportionate higher GDP in comparison to other sections of Kenya just like Lagos to Nigeria. See, I can't use the fact that Nairobi GDP is almost as big as the entire Ghana's to claim Ghana is way poorer than Kenya.

The last time I did economics was in secondary school, so I'm certainly not an expert, but I don't see how that makes sense. GDP is simply the total value of goods produced and services provided in a country during one year. It has nothing to do with the government budget. The budget would normally be dependent on government revenue and loans may be taken to finance deficits. Nigeria has a very low government revenue due to most of the revenue being derived from crude sales and crude oil only accounts for about 15% of Nigeria's GDP, but well over 90% of our Forex earnings (since we export little else) and about 80% of government revenue.

Black people who constitute over 80% of South Africa only hold about 23% of the JSE stocks. If you remove the PIC pension funds from it, whites control well over 90% of stocks. Lucky for you, they've shown the enterprise and resourcefulness and work ethic to carry your economy on its back and attract the investment that enables those amongst your lazy hordes who are willing to work to aspire to something. There doesn't exist a Nigerian who doesn't know South Africa is considerably more developed than Nigeria. Not sure what it is with the Saffer spamming the thread. We do know though that it would have great similarities with Zimbabwe and Malawi and Mozambique without whitey who controls an incredible portion of the wealth. Though I know you'd rather kid yourself otherwise.
