It will take some outstanding excuse to prevent Dennis from going to the world cup if he can maintain this form.

No NFF politics will prevent the player with one of the highest goal contributions in EPL from being called up
Check the history of Nigerian football

You must be unfamiliar with how NFF works.

Dennis is not on the list of people with automatic call ups. In fact, he fit don enter black list so.
Osihmen , Ndidi and few players are sure bet for world cup if we qualify. For Dennis, it is 50/50 even if he scores hat trick again Man city because of NFF politics

African football is very physical. You can see both coaches making changes at 70minutes but Rohr will not make changes until 87 min or a player is injured. Cameroon got two clear penalties as a result of the reckless challenge. If Eguovoen can get his tactics right , Nigeria may go far

What i have seen is due to covid the best team is not going to win AFCON
best team always possess good reserve bench ,hence Covid 19 may be opportunity for reserve bench to showcase their skills

Africa! grin

Perhaps if we know who are those in charge of the covid-19 tests, it would give us a better insight as to what to expect.. Is it only Cameroon health workers allowed to administer the test, or is it a team selected by CAF, or perhaps each country is allowed to administer it's own test with its own health officers.... There's just not enough clarity...
Even the coach said he needs clarity. Confusion everywhere. I hope host won't use covid 19 test as advantage

4 Burkinabes players have tested positive .ahead of tomorrow's match. The coach said the four players are the main players, and the captain started a protest against the result. Expert in the house, please, what are the rules concerning Covid 19 in Afcon? Imagine all goalkeepers in a team tested positive or all Nigerian midfielders test positive before a second-round match against Algeria. I need clarity. I doubt this tournament will be free from controversies

Watching highlights of 2013 Afcon Burkina Faso vs. Ghana, the officiating was so poor, and it appears the referee wanted Ghana to win by all means. I hope this 2021 cup officiating will be void of controversies

Oga mi, nothing dey to study

In life, the best team wins. The team with better cohesion and devoid of drama wins

The team with good Football Admin wins. The team with disciplined players win

Nigeria is 2/10 on all these criteria I just mentioned

Just the same way I warned you guys of Mikel in the last AFCON

No worry, una eye go soon clear grin grin
Not always so sir. The best team does not win every time. 2013 Nigeria team was not the best team . Ivory coast was the best

Burkina Faso also has a strong team. They played against Algeria twice during the qualifiers and both games ended a draw.

Yes you are right, upsets do happen but we just need to rate different teams on paper and I want to say Algeria is a team to beat, also Senegal but Nigeria,Tunisia,Egypt and Cote d' voire are not pushover.
Well said bro. The second round fixture likely to be Algeria vs Egypt or Algeria vs Nigeria from what I saw on the fixtures

So much talk about the Algerian team. No doubt the Algerian team is very good, however, in every tournament, upsets do happen. In 2012 Star-studded Ivorien team could not defeat Zambia even after being awarded a penalty. In 2013, again, the less fancied Nigerian team defeated Ivory coast, including Drogba, Toure & Kalou. In 2019, Egypt playing at home lost to SA. The Benin Republic defeated Morrocco. Watch out for upsets!

That's a damning verdict on Eguavoen. It means he hasn't been doing his job. As TD he should keep a dossier on all Nigerian players in Europe top leagues at least.
I laugh when people praise Eguavoen's tactical acumen. This guy was a resounding failure the last time he was with the super Eagles. He was hounded out from the national team with all kinds of bad press.

The man keeps talking about luck everytime. That tells he has an already made excuse should he fail. I have never heard a top manager talking about needing luck in interviews, klopp? Tuchel? Flick? Pep? The man is clueless.

We now have round of 16 in the nation's cup then quarter finals, no way he navigates through and get to the semi finals on luck. Eguavoen doesn't have the capacity, who wan bet?
Many Nigerians know that Eguavoen is not tactical sound, but he is a discipline coach. but I am happy the conservative Rohr who almost ruined Nigerian pattern of play was sacked. The conservative styles killed the players confidence.

So many monikers here use to criticize ighalo so this is their opportunity Once again

I won’t take them serious ,will only take few that don’t usually criticize ighalo serious
Sir constructive criticism is not a bad thing when it comes to the game of soccer . It only becomes harmful when there is hatred attached to such criticism. Ighalo has done very well for Nigeria , but at the moment we have clinical strikers that can do better than him .

Please, let us ease on Ighalo. The guy just wanted to serve his country. I do not think he planned to cause the team any problem. We can criticize Ighalo on a number of things, but we cannot criticize his commitment to the success of the team.

He is naturally a good guy and would not cause Nigerians pains. Even Eguavoen said he is protecting Ighalo from going into a battle with the club. That will tell you his commitment.

Please, guys, Ighalo is still our main man.
Without disrespect to Ighalo. He has done his part well and time to leave the scene for clinical strikers like Osihmen & Dennis or Dessers. Ighalo is not our main man again sir. He retired and we should respect his retirement. Rohr recalled him against Cape Verde and we saw his performance.

I was thinking naija should have gone with 3 and add a midfielder with the last GK spot ,but that shouldn’t be a problem ,many afcon coaches went with 4GKs so please don’t use that to criticize eguavoen

Or maybe you will tell me those coaches aren’t sane
Due to the covid 19 many teams listed 4 goalkeepers. Take for instance if you listed only 3 and two tested positive and the last one got a red card in a match , how will the team survive?

I just feel Nwakali if he plays to instruction, should be the bridge between Aribo and Ndidi. Collects from Ndidi, sends to Aribo and also the wingers.

Well anything that works for the team and depending on the game/opponents they'd playing against. The coach can tweak his formation. Sure ,however these players will do well , if the coach selects the right players

But one thing is certain, with the caliber of players will have, only a 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 might work. Playing a 4-4-2 will expose our team badly

I'd like Austin to try out Ndah and Awaziem CB pairing for the friendly against Coton Sports.

Aina and Zaidu as left and right back respectively

Then play Ndidi-Nwakali-Aribo midfield

Ejuke from the left, Chuks on the right side of attack

Whoever plays upfront doesn't matter cos he will score goals but I'd pick Umar as the striker.

Iheanacho can replace Nwakali and Iwobi can replace Ejuke, Simon can sub Chuks
Good formation. Iwobi should be on the bench. that is why the sacked of Rohr was very good because he will not play this formation.

There is no need to insult people to get your points clear. Just state your facts and let others do theirs. There is a difference between debate and argument.

I read over eight pages of this thread; I saw unnecessary comparisons of players, which led to insulting one another. This is not necessary. You can speak good about a player without criticizing another player.
