I have noticed the amount of Nigerians traveling abroad to study irrelevant courses then think when they come back, they will be given the jobs.

why do you waste your money and energy studying philosophy, counseling, English in a non-English speaking country, sociology, political science accounting, marketing, PR, history, linguistics, marriage counseling, insurance, sport science, conflict management and all sort of irrelevant courses abroad, all these courses won't put food on your table whether home or abroad, instead of wasting your money studying those courses abroad, you can as well study those courses in Nigeria for cheap.

if you are not studying medicine or STEM subjects abroad (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) pls stop wasting your money and time.

Guys, what is your take?
Accounting now waste of effort ? You are ignorant of global trends

You never see any statement from them when these dangerous criminals kidnap and drug young girls, or when they are involved in robberies and many other crimes . But as soon as a Nigerian dies it's Xenophobia cheesy grin. It doesn't matter where he dies or why he was killed or by whom, as long as he has a flat head then he is a victim of hate cheesy. Funny bunch of idiots.

Personal thoughts

1. Not to demoralize anyone, but if you have applied for a study visa and you haven't from the embassy yet; you may likely get a refusal except if you are going for a PhD, post-doc or a full research masters.
Why?? Most universities in the republic are already writing their exams hence registration for new students are fully closed. However some universities may allow certain international students to begin their programs in semester 2 if you have pre- informed them of your visa challenges.

Some study visa applicants have also failed to carry their institutions along in the challenge they are facing in getting study visa. Trust me the international office in your university can pull a lot of stunt. They will forward your name to the home affairs and ask them to issue you a visa. They will also follow up on your behalf until the visa is issued.

2. I have also noticed a lot of refusals on this platform lately. The truth is South Africa is trying so hard to reduce the influx of immigrants into their country as a lot of illegal emigrants across Africa ( Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Congo, moz, Cameroon, Guniea) are beginning to constitute threats/nuisance. So the immigration policies are now stricter.
However, one major factor why applicants are largely denied these days lies in the genuity and appropriateness of application documents. For example, if you are applying for a study visa, please ensure the adequacy of your proof of fund. Be sure that your bank statement can cover your tuition, cost of living, accommodation and some little extra bucks. If you are getting the bank statement from a sponsor, ensure that the relationship between you and the sponsor is properly spelt out and explained in a letter from your sponsor to the consular. You may also back up the relationship with birth certificates if the sponsor is your bloodline.
I wouldn't like to dwell so much on this document thing but keep in mind that your documents must be verifiable, genuine and appropriate.

3. What is in South Africa??
The answer is South Africa offers everything that Nigeria promises to be. From perfect roads, to uninterrupted power supply, to excellent weather, great health care system, to cheap world class educational system...just name any good thing you can think of, South Africa is got it.
However, there are a few negatives which alot of us already know. Job opportunities are now getting difficult and doesn't look like it's going to get any better in the nearest future so if you are coming to the republic for employment opportunities, your better think twice.

If you are coming for tourism, South Africa is the place to be especially if you want a near america or western Europe experience. If schooling is what interests , i'll like to tell you that the best schools in Africa are here in the republic.

Lastly, always have it at the back of your mind that no country in this world owes you a visa obligation.

Cheers.
Excellent report well done sir .however international offices do not have to power compel or inform home affairs to issue visa to applicants, they can only confirmed your admission letter . Of true immigration policy now extremely harsh on Nigerians hence becoming difficult for " hustlers " to come SA. Hence you either come for study or you apply for critical skills only if your skills fall into that category. No more general work permit for west African countries.Even if you have vocational skills that can fetch you money in SA ,getting long term visa becomes a mountain .Thus study visa is the easiest route to migrate.

Pls help a brother

A friend of mine is in south Africa (female). So she want me to come over to SA and stay... I'm still processing my passport but if want to know that ...
1.what type of visa do I have to apply for?
2.Is SA now safe for Nigerians(cos i heard of the issue of xenophobic attack some months back)
3.I intend living in SA as a footballer or I further my education there
4.What are the criteria for living in SA

Pls help shed more lights to this questions.. I wouldn't mind if someone can link me up with an agent (not scammers) to make my trip faster... She wants me to come before july

Note:She also moved to SA not quite long but she have relatives there
With humility and respect to you sir . You don't need agent but common analysis of your plans . 1. what permit are u coming with ? Any journey with visitor visa is not the best you can't change status . 3. What will u be doing to survive ? To play soccer is good but do you have a club already ? Please learn a skill that is what will bring food on your table . Don't depend on a woman

Good day nairalanders, please I’m in a fix and I need advice from people in the system .
I’m currently pregnant for my fiance. He’s currently based in South Africa with a volunteer visa/permit. He wants me to apply for visit visa and come and join him so the child can be born there. But I have my reservations please. I already read on the internet that giving birth in South Africa does not qualify for automatic citizenship. Please advise. Is it advisable I go there or just stay back in nigeria
He want us to live in South Africa with him
Ask your man what he is doing for a living . A lot of Nigerians are doing legal business or work and some are busy selling drugs or doing plastics ( atm fraud) ..2. A child born in sa doesn't become citizen until he is 18years . 3 . what will u be doing with visitor visa ? 4 you can't change your status .5 . Is he really employed or doing illegal or legal business ? All these questions must be answered

The chances that undergraduate study visa will be granted is very slim unless the school assured the Embassy that she can still enroll.Already exam is about to start and lectures end this Friday. If it was honours ,masters and PhD for second semester the visa will be issued. More importantly they believed that if she is issued the visa now what will she be doing in SA in MAY AND JUNE?Check from the school if her registration and payments are still valid.Sorry for the pain.... Nwakali is a huge talent like his brother Kelechi. That they are both victims of racism in their various clubs isn't their fault.

Success is in the FA cup finals with Watford. What does most of them who made the cut have over him?

Answer me. ..
your comments are ridiculous because success club is in FA cup finals he should be invited ? How many goals did he score this season and how many man of the match he won ? Nwakali has not kick ball since March he was stranded on visa issue and Tyrone is just recuperating from injury
