Now I ve to see my supervisor to fine turn some practical part of my thesis. Can I apply for study permit now. Thks

Thks for d reply, but I don't get is d 3days, tuesday for doc ,wednesday for payment and thursday for submission. Dat means I ve to spend 3 days in lagos or abuja cos I don't stay in lagos or abuja. Pls make it clearer. Again about d accommodation how do I get proof to use cos I want to rent one when I get there. Sorry if questions looks a bit stupid.

All drug no matter how small is chemical, including paracetamol. as it cures one thing ,it destroys another. Also whatever you are doing as a ttc woman alone while ur dh fertility status is not assured is in vain. yestday because of my mums ulcer , I did a lot of research on dt. I was amazed at my findings. I found dt a bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori is rsponsile for ulcer. causes among others include some drugs such as ibuprofen, aspirin nd some anti nflamatory drugs. since mum hv bn sick nd exposed to all maner of drugs, d next is ulcer which she never have-drug counter reaction. May God help us to overcome all this challenges-Amen. sprinkling baby dust.

Each country adopts a specific approach to their Doctorate programmes based on their long term vision for research and development. I don't think any approach is absolute or tested as the best. Yes, peer-reviewed journals are very important in acquiring a PhD degree. I wrote three journals towards completing my PhD anyway.

Don't be deceived, peer reviewed journal articles are not a piece of cake, even renowned scholars get rejections sometimes; there is no guarantee that your research work will be published on first attempt. I am speaking authoritatively. In the US and other places like Turkey it is mandatory to:
1. Complete 21 units of course work (7 courses)
2. Pass a qualifying exam
3. Publish a quality article with journal indexed in ISI
4. Write and defend PhD thesis
Those are the requirements for graduation. After completing all those steps it is difficult to say one has not done quality research and learnt extensively.

Yes there is the thing called a poor PhD where the candidate learns almost nothing about research, teaching or mentoring younger researchers. Such a PhD can be viewed as a glorified MSc just with a different title. Lots of schools award such degrees because it makes their records look good.

To throw more light on the issue of publication, having an internationally peer reviewed journal article (not conference) published is not a piece of cake. In the US and some other parts of the world where course work and qualification exam among others, are part of the requirements for graduation; it would be extremely tough to obtain a PhD within two years. PhD + MSc combined programmes exist but even those take 4-6 years to complete.

Again, only an exceptional genius can obtain a good PhD within two years.
