Very insightful post.. However if there are no jobs in SA, why are people rushing there?!
There are jobs in SA mostly for science oriented and technicians .My neighbour(Nigerian) got good a job last week with good pay .Mind you he is ssce holder he has trade test certificate in refrigerator and Air conditioner services .It is not about degree now but what you can do with your hands .

And don't ever live in areas where there majority of South Africans....Never Never Never
Gbam u got it right ...say it plain Never never live where there are majority black South Africans...They will be jealous and feel inferior of your progress .....I don't blame them for their inferiority and myopic mindset because 80percent were brought up by grandmothers and 70percent don't know their fathers . I am still waiting for them to blame Nigerians for their HIV Epidemic .

What you mentioned has a lot of generalisations.

1. You say because of Cheap labour, while this is true. Who are the people employing these foreigners? Government should try and make stricter laws and regulations about illegal immigrants being hired for cheap wages or make a restriction on how many foreigners can be employed in relation to South Africans. Will that not be better than killing them.

Secondly some of these people do jobs that most South Africans will not do and once they make it then they are accused of stealing their jobs. What were they doing before that person arrived? Why don't they learn from such people. How can they be stealing 'jobs' that the locals would not be doing anyways?

The spaza shop problem about the locals running out of business. Firstly the cheaper goods are benefiting the community as a whole but why can't SA practice group economics and only buy from SA spaza shops and that way foreign spaza shops would reduce

Most importantly what about the 'legal' foreigners who studied and are working legit jobs? How are they cheap labour? Not all foreigners are doing spaza shops etc. There are a lot of professionals working hard and paying taxes for the benefit of society.

2. This is not true. So all foreigners go for SA women due to papers? So are you saying SA women are that stupid? Yes there are some who go for them for papers but there are others who are happily married to them. What about those who are here legally and don't need papers.

3. The majority of Crimes are committed by South Africans and not foreigners so blaming them for all the crimes in this country will not change the fact that SA has a problem wrt crime. There are foreigners doing crime(drugs especially) but it's no way near in comparison with the locals doing crime. Why don't the police arrest these people and deport them. Truth is some of these police officers are enjoying the benefits (money) of these drug dealers and hence a lot just feel free to do what they want.

Even in jail the ration of the foreign nationals to the local nationals is small. High jacking, theft, rape, murder, gang related violence, farm killings etc etc are majority committed by South Africans even picking up a newspaper or watching news you can see it's your own people. There are more South Africans then foreigners so it's obvious that most of the crime would be committed by locals.

I think that the major problem is Government. People are unhappy but Government are doing nothing. They would rather let people focus and blame foreigners for all the problems in this country and in so doing take away the heat from them. If only the locals put in half this effort in fighting government corruption (nkandla etc) and non delivery of what they promised the locals(houses etc). To curb the foreigner issue, stricter visa and immigration laws should be put in place.

98% of all foreigners don't have work permits? Lol where exactly are you getting your stats from. Maybe the ones in the locations but not all foreigners are in the location. Am happy though about the new and stricter laws that are coming in. Hopefully this will stop you guys from killing innocent foreigners but I have a feeling that it will happen again as all the previous times.
You are very intelligent and your comment deserve 1000likes

hello house,
my Lil bro submitted the following things today for a 2 weeks visit visa:
-international passport
-flight reservation
-photocopy of yellow card
-2 passport photographs (on white background)
-invitation letter from SA host (dated and signed by host)
-6 months bank statement of SA host (stamped by bank)
-photocopy of SA host's ID card (certified)
-SA proof of accommodation (certified).

When he got to the vfs center at lekki to submit the documents for the visa application, an official looked at his documents and said they were fine but that he was supposed to come with a letter from his school (a computer school) and another letter (my bro says he cant remember- i'm guessing its an introductory letter or something like that). but then the official said he could still submit the documents like that if he wanted to. so he did submit it.
my question is, does the unavailability of the letters requested pose a threat?. i thought everything listed above are the requirements for a visit visa?.
what do i need to know... i need your thoughts on this.
TYPOP, samtol4, yinkob002 and others who got experience, pls help.
You should have asked this question before he submitted .For an official to point out the missing document(letter)shows how crucial the letter is needed .God may favour him and visa will be approved .But on a serious note the embassy want to know what he is doing in Nigeria and assess if he will not overstay or refuse to come back .A lot of Nigerians including graduates came with Visiting visa and apply for Asylum under inhumane conditions while some are roaming aimlessly doing nothing . The Letter remain crucial although he may still get visa approval .

A lot of SA women still praise their SA men and they are loyal to them, stop deceiving yourself over the few encounters you come across. There is more to a man than his dicck size. Majority of the SA women prefer getting married to men of their own tribe, just because you have come across 6 out of over 10million of them that date foreign guys does not mean anything
That is the problem here you are been economical with the truth .You didn't deny those factors I stated .

it has always been foreign guys chasing SA women, most of the times for papers. SA men are hardworking and industrious probably the reason why the SA corporate world (which they dominant) is where it is today.
fallacy ...sisi what about students on study permit and those having work permit are they after them for papers? The bitter truth SA guys consume much sugar this weakened their sexual prowess and no woman want a failure in bedroom examinations .2nd Most SA guys are not circumcised it is just recent adults circumcision began .These two factors apart from caring and romantic make Nigerians men to be HOT CAKE"
Foreign AffairsRe: Xenophobia: South Africa Condemns Nigeria's Decision To Recall Its Ambassador by samtol4(m): 8:11pm On Apr 26, 2015
The problem in SA is complex and like time bomb .In a country where 70percent are brought up by grandmothers and some don't even know their fathers talkless of fatherly care and parental upbringing .Family values in SA is zero .To average SA having many kids is an achievement and preferable to marriage. To them marriage is bondage and stress so they prefer having many kids without parental care . Societies without family values are bound to have Xenophobia. The kids grow up believing that government must provide all things and when government don't ....they blame foreigners for everything . Thank God they didn't blame us for their HIV and RAPE cases .

So what more can the SA government do, there're all these anti-xenophobia campaigns and matches attended by thousands, people have returned to their communities, there're special courts setup to deal with xenophobic crimes even the foreign organizations are happy with the government's response so far.

why recall the ambassador now?
SA government has done nothing serious .All what they are doing is stylishly deportation(evacuation) foreigners and take over their properties .70percent foreigners have their permit application pending over 2years and once they go out they won't be able to re enter again and some have houses and investment here .Bros stop saying what you don't know ""thousands have returned to their communities "This is big lie .Malawi and Mozambique government repatriate citizens and some are now in refuge camps in Chatsworth Durban. 3key questions Nigerian high commissioner demanding from SA and they are not ready to give answers .1.Pay victims of Xenophobia 2.No need to evacuate since there is calmness and if we evacuate what happen to those with pending permit application and how will they re enter ?3and what happens to their investment and properties?Evacuation is out of the way now ..some Nigerians are legally married to SA and stay up to 20years .what happens to their houses?Do you have plan for them if evacuated?Get it right Xenophobia attack happened in townships(semi town) not main town(CBD).Nigerians don't stay in such places .

I value life more than you can imagine and I have nothing against rescuing all nigerian citizens in South Africa. The point is recalling only the ambassador while other powerless citizens (who are the real victims) are left behind doesn't make sense to me.

Note: I already learnt that the purpose of recalling the ambassador is to discuss way out which is a good thing to do.

Foreign AffairsRe: Xenophobia: South Africa Condemns Nigeria's Decision To Recall Its Ambassador by samtol4(m): 6:21pm On Apr 26, 2015
The recall is perfect ...For students of International relations the recall of High commissioner is a diplomatic move to show your displeasure or compel another country to listen to your request. After several meetings with High commissioners of different countries ,the SA government kept talking about evacuation process of those who are now in refuge camp in Chatsworth instead of re_integrating .. The Nigerian high commissioner suggested and insisted that victims who lost properties and lives should be compensated financially but these selfish and wicked SA government won't agree.and say NO ..Even the Mozambique guy that was killed the family keep saying they don't have money to carry his body home . SA govt don't want to compromise on key issues ,They pocketed all countries unfortunately NIGERIAN High commissioner refused their offers. God bless you Madam The SA government express disappointment over the recall because the Nigerian high commissioner is not ready to compromise on key issues . .Come.May 29 when sai baba resumes duty they go know say Khaki no be leather .

good baba This news won't bring back the lost life ....Just as President Zuma keep condemning the attacks without any solid action . He addressed the nation on thursday condemning Xenophobia and days later someone was murdered while another guy was busy snapping picture without calling the police. President Zuma never condemn the words of the silly King who incited the people against foreigners .The president keep dodging key questions about the king statement. In SA president always "condemned" same with Nigerian president "we are ontop of the situation even when Boko haram bombed UN office he keep saying we are on top of the situation ....African continent will be great when we have leaders in power not LOOTERS.
Foreign AffairsRe: Mozambican man, Emmanuel Sithole Stabbed To Death In South Africa by samtol4(m): 6:36am On Apr 20, 2015
The guy snapping d picture would ve excuse himself and call police . .The cheapest commodity in SA is human life ,so cheap some1 can be paid R50(800naira to take your life ). Seconds by Seconds some1 is stabbed to death while spectators are there saying...eish eish aibo that is SA style .Killing is not a big deal but part of life. It is only in SA you kill a cat you are sentenced to jail but kill some1 and claim self defense you go free. If you want to live in SA stay in town or main city where educated reside if u stay among beasts in semi township OYO is your name .LESSON FOR ALL.Be careful with what your say with your mouth .It was the king of Zululand and Zuma 'son(Edward) that said all foreigners should be chase away . It was also words of Oba of Lagos that generated so much controversies to the point mature forumites became tribal maggots with thread and counter thread. The presidents of Nigeria and SA never condemned those words of these set of people .Mr Orubebe's word would have scatter Nigeria but God didn't allow him .African continent will shine again and be safe when we have leaders not LOOTERS in power !
