ight. The round moon was hanging high and stars filled the sky.

However, within the river of stars, there were 9-coloured lights lingering amongst them and they were especially dazzling.

Suddenly, the lights condensed and formed into 9-coloured lightning. It came striking down from above the river of stars and the heavens.

At that instant, the black night became a white day. Even before the strike of the lightning, the ground was already rumbling and fiercely trembling.

Outer court disciples. They were the ones that did the hard and thankless tasks. Not only were their position lowest in the school, they were even looked down upon by outsiders.

The reason was very simple. If they were an outer court disciple, it meant that their aptitude was horrible and in their entire life, it would be very hard for them to have any big achievements, so naturally. they were despised upon.

“Oi, what’s with this attitude? Do you know who I am?” A lady who wore gorgeous clothes had a boy with her as she pointed and loudly yelled at a young man.

A piece of paper was suddenly thrown in front of Bai Ran. On the paper wrote five large words, “Divorce Agreement.”

Bai Ran lowered her eyes to hide the sadness in them. Then, she smiled faintly and gently took the divorce agreement.

Despite being married for two years, they had lived as strangers.

“Will you come downstairs for breakfast Chrysler, you don’t wanna be late for school on your first day”, my mum said.

“I will be down in a minute mum”, I shouted struggling with wearing my jeans.

I brushed my hair and divided it into two and weaved it, leaving few strands of hair to fall at the side.

I got downstairs and joined my mum for breakfast. I rushed my breakfast because I was already freaking late.

“Bye mum”, I said pecking her cheeks and ran out of the house. I met my driver waiting for me already. I got into the car and he stepped on the gas. I waved one last time at my mum.

My mum was standing outside and she kept on waving at me till I was out of sight.

On my way to school, I kept on looking outside the window. The view was very nice and fascinating.

I even saw a circus where they were performing magic tricks.

A man brought out fire from his mouth. “Woah, how did he do that”, I asked myself.

The car suddenly stopped at Royal High school. The school is very big and beautiful. The students were putting on the same clothes.

It looked more of their uniform. I got down from the car and entered the school compound. The school was surrounded with different colourful flowers.

One one side, a fountain and at the other side there was a swing.

I was lost admiring the compound, I totally forgot I was here to learn.

“Hey, are you a new student”, a girl with blonde hair asked me and I nodded.

“Come with me”, she said and I followed her.

As I was walking down the hallway, lots of students were murmuring and I must say it is so uncomfortable.

“She’s so hot”, “I’m gonna f*ck her” and many other disgusting things were all I was hearing as I walked through the hallway.

My world suddenly paused when I saw a guy. Not just any guy but a very handsome guy. He is tall, handsome, his blue eyes can drown someone and his hair color was just perfect. Infact everything about him is so perfect.

He was walking with three other guys whom I assumed to be his friends.

He turned to my direction and our eyes met for about a while before he looked away.

“Who was that guy”, I asked the girl near me.

“He’s handsome right”, she said and I scoffed.

“His name is Justin, he is in grade 11 so he is a senior. The most handsome senior in Royal High and his friends too are handsome”, she replied.

“Oh”, that was all I could say.

“But he is a playboy and he is currently dating the most beautiful girl in the school, Amanda. She is so wicked. If you want to be on good terms with her, you better don’t cross paths with her”, the girl added.

I became discouraged immediately I heard he is a playboy and to top it all, he has a pretty girlfriend.

She stopped and turned to look at me. “This is the principal’s office, I will take my leave, I have a class in 2 minutes. And by the way, I’m Stephanie”, she said.

“Nice to meet you Stephanie, I’m Chrysler”, I said and she smiled and left.

“She’s so nice”, I thought and breathed very hard before knocking on the door.

“Come in”, I heard and opened the door to reveal a woman in her late 50’s.

“Have a seat”, she said without looking up.

“Are you the new student”, she asked after a brief moment of silence.

“Yes ma’am”, I replied nervously.

She took her eyes off her laptop and took a quick glance at me before returning her eyes back to the laptop screen.

“Someone will take you to your class”, she said and immediately someone entered the office and gestured me to follow him

We walked down the hallway till we reached a class and we stopped.

“Hello everyone, we have a new student. Can we please welcome her”, the man said.

And the students smiled although not all. I smiled back at them and looked round the whole class and saw the girl I met earlier sitting in the middle and I smiled. She seemed to be busy with something.

I introduced myself to the whole class. “My name is Chrysler Stone”, I said and went to sit near Stephanie.

“Hey”, I said to her and she looked up.

“Do you mind if I sit here”, I asked and she smiled.

“It’s you again, sure you can sit near me”, she said and I smiled.

A woman walked into the class. “Settle down”, she shouted and the whole class became calm.

“Oh no, this woman again”, Stephanie grumbled.

“What does she teach”, I asked

“Government”, she replied.

“Justin, have you seen that new student. Mehn, she’s f*cking hot and sexy”, Charlie said.

I scoffed and looked outside the window like there was something outside.

“I must say, she is really pretty”, White said.

“Hope y’all know she’s a junior student”, Jayden said rolling his eyes.

Justin suddenly left the class making all his friends wonder if there is anything wrong with him.

“What is going on with Justin”, White asked and they gave him an ‘i – don’t – know’, look and White shrugged.

Justin was feeling somehow about the new girl but he doesn’t understand the feeling. He was so restless so he wanted to calm himself down my making out with a girl.

He went to a class and some girls jumped on him and was touching his body anyhow so he just picked a girl and took her to the restroom.

Different moans were just coming out from the restroom. Justin was banging the girl real hard with no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Their bodies were filled with sweat. The girl kept on calling Justin’s name and it was driving him crazy.

The funniest part is that Justin was not even moaning, it was only the girl. She attempted to kiss him but he removed his face.

“Don’t ever try to kiss me again”, he said still banging her.

After the government class, Chrysler was pressed and wanted to use the restroom.

“Uhm Steph, please can you show me the restroom”, she asked

“Sure, it’s just the second turning by your left”, Steph said.

“Okay, thank you”, I said and left.

When I got to the restroom, as I was about using the toilet, I started hearing different sounds so I put my ear close to the door.

They were moans. “Oh my God”, I said and gasped. Even if they wanted to do it, they should have gone to a secluded spot not the restroom.

The guy wasn’t even moaning, means he is not enjoying it.

“Such a joy killer. I feel sorry for the girl”, I said and was lost listening to the sounds that I didn’t know when they opened the door and caught me listening to them.

“B*tch, what are you looking for here”, the girl asked me and I didn’t answer.

I was staring at Justin. “Damn, how can someone be this handsome”, I thought to myself. He was not even looking at me so I felt bad and looked away too.

“Is it not you I’m talking to”, the girl asked again.

“I came here to use the restroom, any problem with that”, I asked and she got angry.

“Do you know who I am….”, she was cut short by Justin.

“Gareth, shut up and go back to your class”, Justin shouted.

“Are you really sending me out Justin”, Gareth asked doubtedly.

“I will not repeat myself”, Justin said and she hissed and turned to leave.

As she was going, I gave her an ‘ I won you’, look and I was smirking too, which made her more angrier.

Justin came really close to me and raised my chin up, “don’t try what you did today again”, he said dangerously and walked out.

“Phew, that was a close one”, I said, releasing all the air I was holding inside me for so long.

I couldn’t use the restroom again so I ran back to the class.

He checked the teller, flipping pages continuesly as many thoughts crossed his mind.

He was holding a managerial post and also in charge of giving monthly account to the accountant.

He asked him one day.

Kunle asked mayowa to meet him the following day at the usual expensive spot where he goes to hang out.

They sat opposite each other with their drinks the next day.
Kunle explained to mayowa the secret to his lavish lifestyle and why he doesn’t depends on his salary.
Mayowa knew kunle was doing something unrightful to get money but he never knew is far more than unrightful is all shed of trouble.

Kunle gave simple explanation on how he does it, just for mayowa to follow suit.

Mayowa went home that day feeling down.

Year 1834

The round golden moon emitted light as clouds passed by, a few of them trying to hide the moon but only to be blown away by the wind.

It was like any other night for the villagers who lived in between Valeria, the West empire and Mythweald, the South Empire, near a bank of a river. Each empire had their own villages and towns, however, it was yet to be decided as to which empire this specific piece of land would belong to.

Lamps and lanterns were lit around their small houses while the forest they were surrounded by had turned dark after dusk. In one of the houses, a little girl of age six lived with her parents, who was now petting her newfound rabbit which she had received from her father. She had often seen the little fur of animals hopping in the forest but had never got the chance to pet it so closely. She was running her little hand across its white fur when she heard her mother call for her.

“Katie!” her mother called for her, panic in her voice.

The little girl got up from where she sat, picking up the rabbit in her arms and walking out of the little room to meet her mother. Her mother looked scared as she kept looking behind at the door.

“Honey,” her mother said bending down to meet the little girl’s eye, “I want you to stay in here, close the door and do not open it until your papa or I come to get you.”

“Where are you going?” she asked looking at her mother, her brown eyes questioning.

At the same moment, the shrill cry of a woman echoed outside, making both the mother and the daughter look towards the window. The worried mother held her daughter’s face in both her hands to gain her attention.

“Katie, my sweetheart,” she whispered softly to her little daughter, “Remember papa and mama will always love you. Take care, my child,” she said as a pool of tears formed in her eyes, placing a kiss on her daughter’s forehead.

She knew she had no time to explain, and even if she did, would her little one understand? Katie had grown up with so much tenderness and love. She was at an age when the young bud was meant to blossom into a beautiful flower, but fate was inevitable. What she didn’t know was that something more dangerous was heading their way. Someone banged at the door loudly while the area filled with screams of women and men.

“Hide!” the woman cried and the little girl scrambled to hide under the bed.

The little girl knew something was wrong and wanted to know what was going on but her mother had told her to hide. The cries outside the house and the loud banging at the door frightened her as she brought the animal closer to her chest. She then heard the sound of the room’s door crash which was followed by a numbing silence. Katie got out of her hiding, to peek at the hall but was confused to see a man holding her mother, who had his teeth sunk into her neck. A small trail of blood dripped from the corner of his mouth as he drank he fed her blood.

“M-mama?” she called out for her mom who looked lifeless. There was no smile on her face and her eyes looked empty. Her mother was long gone and was just a piece of flesh now.

Hearing her speak, the man who was feeding on the woman snapped his gaze at the little girl standing at the door. Licking his lips, he threw the woman he had in his arms on the ground as he stalked the girl in front of him with a crazed smile. His bright red eyes shining with excitement while thinking about the fresh prey that stood in front of him now.

“A little girl as a treat for a vampire,” the man said seeing her bolt towards another room but he was faster, “A small helpless human under a vampire’s pity. It wouldn’t be so if your kind had listened to us but look what they have brought on themselves. I’m going to enjoy drinking your sweet blood.”

Katie didn’t say anything but backed away slowly as her hands trembled with fear. She was cornered and had nowhere else to go now. When the man in front of her lunged for her, she squeezed her eyes shut waiting to be hurt but nothing happened except for the sound of a snap in the air and a thud sound on the ground. Opening her eyes slowly she saw that the man was lying on the ground. Moving her gaze upwards, she found herself staring at a pair of dark red eyes unlike the eyes of the one lying on the ground.

Both of them stared at each other, one with a scared expression while the other out of curiosity, eyeing the animal in her hand. When the tall man took one step forward, the little girl spoke,

“Please don’t kill it,” she whispered holding the rabbit close to her chest.

Huo Mian nodded. Finding a quiet corner, she sat down and listened to the loud banter of the classmates around her.

It had been many years since they graduated from high school, and everyone had changed. All in all, compared to these people, the girl who’d once been touted as a genius with an IQ of 130 could not appear any more ordinary right now.

“… stop it, stop it right now…” Benny interrupted his wife.
“… why are you always doing this. We have tried so many things, followed every doctor’s appointment and instructions, we have done everything within our power yet nothing worked out maybe is high time we leave it on God. The only thing that he is yet to add is children… but his timing remain absolutely the best. We will continue to wait with hope. I have 9am class to take and I’m already running late..I will see you later honey…”

Dorcas sighed and replied “see you later, I will probably stop at the hospital to get some meds. My body is acting up…it seems like is not even mine anymore. It must be malaria or stress. Don’t know which exactly but I want to be sure before treating anything. Is been a while I treated malaria though…”

“Alright, try and do that honey, I will call you once I’m out of lecture hall…”
Benny said as he picked up his backpack and walked out of the room.

She turned to her friend who was standing impatiently and said

Bianca got angry with her friend and barked at her.

Geni tries to change the topic but Bianca as usual was not ready to drop it.
“We will be late for history lecture Bianca, it starts by 8:30am if we don’t leave now…we may miss the class, let’s go please…”

Bianca picked up a book with other additional things and her laptop and packed into her backpack.

“I won’t be attending history class, I will be changing some things and adding new ones too. I’m substituting history for religious studies…”

Geni seems surprised as she asked her why
“Because professor Benny takes religious and international studies. Don’t look at me like that… I’m not really interested in his teaching, I just want to sit where I can gaze at him…if possible everyday. I will be getting some of his books from the library and bookstores. I will do anything to have him notice me. I’m not only beautiful, I’m smart and outspoken too, is just a matter of time and he will notice my existence… who knows we can take it up from there. I may even get to get pregnant for him and give him his first child. I learnt that him and his wife are looking for child. They have been married for seven years with no children. Avril noticed as she was walking that two hefty men were following her every move. At first she thought they were going to woo her. But after minutes of just following her trail, she knew something was wrong.

“Do they want to kidnap me?” she thought as her heart began to beat fast.

“Of course not” she muttered with a sad chuckle
“No one would want to kidnap someone they won’t get ransom out of” she said to herself.

She was wearing a floral print dress with sun flowers on it. That was her prettiest dress and she wore it when ever she felt down. This particular day, she felt even more down and depressed than ever. She had ran out of food and the neighbors had insulted her when she went to beg.

“It’s not like it’s my fault my parents died while owing everybody” she had said to herself earlier while crying.

In order to clear her head, she decided to take a long walk around the village farms. She lived in an island village in The Philippines, where their major occupation was fishing and rice farming. The rice was not ready for harvest yet if not she’d have at least, little to eat then. She would work on the farms and get paid then take little of the rice home. But the harvest was still months away.

Also, none of the fishermen agreed for a woman to be on their boat and still wouldn’t give even one fish for free to her. Maybe they really did hate her as she thought.

Avril sniffed and wiped her stubborn tears that were trying to blur her vision. She looked behind her and saw that the two men had disappeared

“Thank God” she said and continued to walk. She palmed her forehead and lowered her head when she hit something hard. She immediately dropped her hand and lifted her head. Only to see one of the hefty men in front of her.

“Oh. Sorry” she said and tried taking the other bush path
He grabbed her hand and she gasped. She jerked her hand off abruptly and turned around in an attempt to run but was immediately carried up by the second hefty man who was right behind her. He covered her mouth and they ran into one of the rice plantations. They kept running until they got to a secluded farm area. The sun had set so the farmers had all gone home. They lowered her to the ground with her mouth still covered firmly. She was struggling and kicking her legs aggressively but they easily pinned her down that she couldn’t move anymore.

There, in the darkening sky and chilly atmosphere, they raped her one after the other until she blacked out. They didn’t feel any remorse or pity for her because that was their lifestyle.

After they had gotten their satisfaction, they carried her to their ship and sailed away before sunrise.

The floor was so cold that it made Avril’s body numb. She had been lying there for hours, unconscious. And when she finally woke up, her teeth couldn’t help but chatter. She had been kidnapped and these people were not after a ransom. She remembered vividly that they had raped her and she tried hard not to think about it. “I advise you not to cry. Just save your energy for later” a female voice said to her. She looked up and saw three other ladies in the cell with her. Two of them were black and looked purely African with their hairstyles. The other looked Chinese. The three of them had one thing in common. They looked tired and drained out

“What?” she asked and wiped the tears that had slid down her face

“You don’t have to cry. It’s just a waste of energy” the black girl in front said. She was the one who had spoken up earlier

“You have to save your energy for what’s coming” the second black girl said

“What’s coming?” Avril asked with panic in her voice

The girls sighed and looked away. Non spoke to her again. She wanted to ask more questions but decided not to.

The girls stayed in that cold, dark cell for hours with no one saying a word. The only thing heard was the noise of the men from up the ship. It was obvious to Avril they were in the deck.

“I’m Nana. From Ghana” one of the black girls spoke up. They couldn’t see each other but Avril guessed it was the second black girl who spoke to her.

“You must be Filipino. We overhead the men saying that we were in The Philippines”

“Yes” Avril said with a cracking voice. Her throat was dry and she needed water

“I’m Filipino” she added

For a few seconds the girls were quiet.

“By the way I’m Chidi. I’m half Nigerian and half Kenyan”

“It’s nice to meet you Chidi”

“By the way, how did they get you?” Nana asked
“I was walking through a lonely bush path. They ambushed me and… and…” the words stuck in her throat

“They raped you, didn’t they?” Chidi asked. Avril didn’t answer but they already knew her answer.

“We’re so sorry about that. Don’t let it get to you” Nana said
“We all were and are still being sexually harassed” she added

“What is this place? Where are we?” Avril asked
“A ship”
“I know that. What I meant was, why are we here?”

“They are human traffickers. They sell children and women. The women… are mostly for sexual satisfaction. We were much before, but they all got sold out” Chidi explained

Cold chills ran all over Avril’s body.

“We’re all waiting for what fate brings our way. We can only hope that we’ll leave all these alive” Nana opined

“One advice for you? Don’t fight them. Go along with them and don’t resist. They kill those that prove stubborn. The Chinese girl just lost her friend” Nana said again

“What? They killed her?” Avril asked, still finding it hard to believe

“In cold blood” Nana replied. Avril let out a deep sigh

“Don’t be scared. It’s going to be fine” Chidi assured. As if she wasn’t scared at all

“You haven’t told us your name” she asked

“Avril. My name is Avril” she said and hugged her legs, the reality of what she was in for, dawning on her.

Lightning flashed through the air and dark clouds covered the sky. A heavy rain was about to fall.

Inside Wohu City, Chen Xiang, while looking up the sky, muttered to himself, “I cannot delay any longer, If I don’t find a good spirit herb soon I might never get the opportunity again.”

Chen Xiang had just turned sixteen this year, and his build was more robust than others of similar age. Although he had a handsome face and youthful countenance, his eyes have a sense of maturity that was not present in others his age.

Although his grandfather was the Patriarch of the Chen family, because Chen Xiang didn’t have any Spiritual Veins, he had to pick herbs for himself. Not having Spiritual Veins meant he was incapable of practicing martial arts. Since he was a child, he had been diligently training his own body and secretly going out to train, he once even fought a tiger-type beast. Although he was young, due to the amount of life and death experiences Chen Xiang had endured, his mental state was far more fortified than the mental states of his peers.

“Chen Xiang? What are you doing out here? A storm is about to blow in! Are you sure you want to be out in this weather?” An old steward spoke while walking towards him. Seeing the amount of hard work Chen Xiang did every day, the old steward could not help but admire him. However, a sliver of regret could be seen in his eyes.

Chen Xiang had worked very hard and practiced every day for six years. But he was stuck at the 3rd level of the Mortal Martial Realm. Other Chen family members, of a similar age, had already entered into the 4th level of the Mortal Martial Realm, and some had even reached the 5th level.

This was all due to the fact that he didn’t have any Spiritual Veins. As such, the family didn’t attach any importance to him, and he was only treated as an ordinary member of the Chen family.

Although he lacked Spiritual Veins, he had never been discouraged by it and had been diligently training himself. The process of attempting to train allowed him to feel a sense of accomplishment.

The middle-aged man was Chen Xiang’s father, Chen Tianhu, a very famous and formidable cultivator and also one of the most promising candidates to inherit the position of Patriarch of the Chen family. Though his son was somewhat crippled, he had always encouraged Chen Xiang, and, from time to time, provided him with precious pills. Unfortunately, the pills didn’t have any effect on Chen Xiang.

“Here.” Chen Tianhu smiled helplessly and threw a small box towards Chen Xiang.

Chen Xiang took the box without even looking at what was inside because he knew that it contained a pill. He smiled and said, “Dad, thank you. Now I don’t need to steal the chickens that Old Ma raised for his health.”

That comment made the steward frown. He didn’t know that his chickens had been targeted.

Watching Chen Xiang, as he left, Chen Tianhu could only let out a sigh because although he had a very high status within the Chen Family, the elders in charge of managing the pills were very strict, as pills were precious resources for cultivation, and thus, he could only save a few of them for Chen Xiang. Sadly, their therapeutic effect actually was not that significant, because they were too few in number to affect Chen Xiang.

Only on rainy days would the black Qi sink, all due to the rainfall, because of this, Chen Xiang was able to see down into the deep precipice. He wanted to go deeper into this place so that he could search for the ‘Hell Spirit Grass’.

He doesn’t want the ‘Hell Spirit Grass’ for himself, but if he got this sacred herb, he could trade it for many precious pills, which would allow him to be free from his current predicament and gain formidable strength.

Raindrops continuously fell on Chen Xiang, making him feel very uncomfortable while also making the rocks on the cliff-side very slippery. He became very cautious, and carefully climbed down the cliff, so as not to fall.

Nobody knew what was at the bottom of the ‘Immortal Devil Cliff’, and there had been many who have gone down, but the number of people that have climbed back up was zero. To fall down meant death!

Two hours had passed and the rain continued to fall. Chen Xiang had been exercising for many years and, just by relying on his strong body, he had descended several dozen feet into the deep precipice.

Chen Xiang carefully observed his surroundings and found a good temporary shelter. Then he saw something which made his heart beat rapidly.

‘Hell Spirit Grass!’ Chen Xiang shouted out with excitement, gazing straight down, he saw something similar to a white sesame seed cake. He was confident that this was the legendary ‘Hell Spirit Grass’.

The whole ravine was filled with black Death Qi, and, to top it all off, the color of the ‘Hell Spirit Grass’ and the cliff was the same, making this herb very difficult to spot.

Though Chen Xiang was very excited, he calmed himself down and rested for a moment, before continuing his journey down.

It wasn’t long before Chen Xiang arrived next to that ‘Hell Spirit Grass’. He swallowed his saliva and looked at the white ‘Hell Spirit Grass’ that was the size of a bowl. He could feel the vigorous life force emitted by the ‘Hell Spirit Grass’.

Chen Xiang picked up the ‘Hell Spirit Grass’ with one hand. He estimated that this ‘Hell Spirit Grass’ had been growing for more than a thousand years. Selling it on the auction would earn him an astronomical sum.

Chen Xiang picked up the spirit grass, put it inside his storage pouch, and then grinned: “Haha! It’s time for this daddy’s salted fish to stand up from failure!”

“Damn, I finally got the ‘Hell Spirit Grass’ and this happens. Heaven, are you fuc*** kidding me!” The cliffs sudden shaking couldn’t help but make Chen Xiang curse bitterly. He wanted to remain calm, so he made himself hold onto the rugged cliff, otherwise, he would’ve fallen down in shock.

The tremors continued to increase in strength and Chen Xiang gradually fell into despair. He, again, looked up and saw a giant piece of rock falling towards him. At the same time, the rock he was holding began to crack.

“God, I just got the Hell Spirit Grass, but now you are bringing me down to hell, are you f**king with me!” Chen Xiang could not help but curse , but this time, the black Qi started to rise up, and the rock Chen Xiang was holding broke………..

Those two, with their pure faces, which were like meticulously carved jade statues, being without the slightest flaw. Their twin peaks were abundant and their waists were slender and smooth. They were beautiful and breath-taking …… this was Chen Xiang’s first time seeing women as beautiful as them.

The fragrant and stunning scene had a great impact on Chen Xiang, shocking him into stillness, his whole face flushed red and his heart and breathing seemed to have stopped! The two girls were hunkered down and looking at each other. After some time, they finally found Chen Xiang, but they totally disregarded him, and, seeing this, Chen Xiang felt humiliated, as he was totally disregarded by the two beauties.

After a period of absent-mindedness, Chen Xiang was finally able to see that the crevasse was falling apart. There were many cracks and pits visible, broken stones were scattered on the ground and, alongside the broken stones, there were pieces of scattered white silk, which gave him the idea that a battle had been fought here. He speculated that it was these two girls that were the cause of the battle, which had led to their clothes being torn apart.

Chen Xiang did not know about why these two stunning and alluring girls were fighting here, in this abyss, but he realized that these two women were quite formidable, and their strength was beyond the scope of his knowledge, being able to shake the earth and move mountains with their power.

“These two are the cause of my current predicament. They shook the cliff and caused me to plunge down here, but, fortunately, I had some good luck and did not die!” Chen Xiang was angry, but, at the same time, he was curious about these two mysterious girls.

Chen Xiang, slowly walked towards the two women, marveling at their flawless jade bodies.

The abyss next to the ‘Immortal Devil Cliff’ was called hell, but, for Chen Xiang, this hell was similar to paradise. There was a deep pool filled with a soothing white aura and,most importantly, beside this pool there were two stunning naked girls.

Only, at this time, the two girls realized that not far from them, a pair of fiery red eyes were glancing at them, and they felt shame and anger at his leering gaze.

“Milady, they’re here… the prince is here.”

Evie’s shoulders immediately tensed up when she heard the shaken voice of her maid. Cold sweat dripped on her back as she shot a nervous look at her mother who had just arrived to check in on her.

“Mother, I…” Evie subconsciously grabbed her mother’s skirt. She couldn’t help it. She thought she had prepared herself enough in the last few days but it seemed the fear and uncertainty still threatened to crash her resolve now that the moment had arrived.

“Hush, dear,” her mother said as she gave her daughter a reassuring hug, but the concern in her eyes gave her away. “Don’t worry, you can do this my dear,” she whispered as she gently rubbed Evie’s back. “Don’t forget the reason you have to do this, Evie…”

Her mother kissed her head and though she didn’t look shaken, Evie could sense the anxiousness and distress within her mother.

Evie took a deep breath. “Yes, mother,” she replied, as she flashed a forced smile toward her mother. “I can do this.”

“Good girl…” Her mother’s arms wrapped around her again for one last hug and after a second, her mother nodded at her maid.

“I am going to meet the guests now while you get ready,” she told Evie and after giving her daughter one last encouraging smile, Evie’s mother finally left the room.

Evie closed her eyes and her maid immediately hovered around her. She tried her best to calm her pounding heart, talking to herself inwardly and telling herself it would be alright, that everything would be alright. She was so focused in hardening her resolve that she was a little startled when the maid finally spoke.

“You look stunning, milady.” Evie’s eyes flew towards the mirror and she studied her reflection. Her hair was so beautifully arranged; her face painted just enough to emphasize her natural, innocent, maiden features.

Evie stared at herself quietly. It had finally arrived, the day of her wedding. She used to fantasize about this day when she was younger, daydreaming about how magical and wonderful it would be to marry the man of her dreams. She had seen herself smiling with so much happiness and excitement and delight as she marched down the aisle towards her dream groom.

But none of these fantasies of hers were going to happen. Instead of excitement and delight, her heart was filled with dread and unease. Well, nobody could blame her because like most of the ladies in the highest echelon of power, Evie couldn’t choose whom to marry. She had mistakenly, stupidly thought she was safe from all these things because she wasn’t a princess. However, she was the daughter of the most powerful noble family in the entire Empire. In the end, she couldn’t escape this fate. In fact, she couldn’t believe she actually had it worse than anyone else she knew, probably even more than the princesses of any Empire in existence. At least those princesses were married off to emperors and high ranking military generals from their neighboring human empires.

Yes, she too, was about to marry a prince but… unlike those princesses, her husband-to-be wasn’t human… he was a vampire. And vampires were their enemy, the human’s mortal enemies.

“It’s time, milady.” The handmaid’s voice almost made her jump from her seat again. She let out another long and deep sigh – noble ladies like her did not express their dissatisfaction audibly – before she stood up with her head held high, and walked towards the door.

The door at the entrance was opened for her and she stepped gracefully over the sill before proceeding calmly along the corridor. She couldn’t count how many times she had taken a deep breath as she walked towards those doors, doors which looked more daunting with each step she took. With one last step, she finally stood just before the large double doors leading towards the wedding hall.

‘Be strong, Evie. For the sake of your family and the entire empire,’ she whispered to herself again and again. She squared her shoulders and looked up once again as she waited for the doors to open. The moon and the stars were brightly shining down on her.

In her daydreams, her wedding day always took place on a fine sunny day where she would be surrounded by falling petals dancing in the wind. Who would’ve thought she was going to get married in the middle of the night and to a creature of the night?

The sky was clear and calm and peaceful. The stars blinked at her but even the calmness of the sky couldn’t ease the turmoil that was bubbling inside her. Her pulse was racing and all she could do was take deep breaths, again and again. Her hands were shaking and it took all her strength to keep them still again.

Her presence was then announced and at long last, the procession began.

The hall she walked into screamed of luxury and was a feast to the eyes, but contrary to all the beautiful grandeur that filled the room, the atmosphere was, as expected, tense and heavy. It was extremely rare for vampires and humans to be present under one roof. There were occasions, of course, where the two races stood under the same roof but the difference this time was that they weren’t intent on killing each other. Because of this wedding, the vampires and humans agreed to a ceasefire, the first one in history.

As she walked closer to the altar, her long, tapered fingers clutched her dress hard – an action that went unnoticed by the guests because her hands were swallowed by the voluminous folds of her gown – but Evie’s eyes remained fixated on the floor. Her face was still facing forward but her eyes were trained on that single spot, always 5 feet away in front of her on the floor. She couldn’t relax. She felt like she was walking on a small, thin stretch of road between vampire and human armies on the battlefield right before they collided and killed each other. Above all, she felt like a small, innocent little lamb voluntarily walking to the butcher’s house to be sacrificed, despite being promised that her soon-to-be husband and the vampires would never hurt her.

The tension was so thick in the air that all she wanted to do was turn around and run away, but she didn’t. She couldn’t.

Evie couldn’t hear anything but the loud pounding of her own heartbeat. She couldn’t even raise her eyes to take a peek at her husband-to-be because she was terrified! All her encounters with vampires terrified her to the core. Granted, she hadn’t seen that many of them, but five years ago, she had come across a captured vampire. The vampire had had his sharp teeth bared, snarling with disgust and rage at his captors, and his eyes had glowed blood red which was a stark contrast to his overly pale skin. This vampire’s appearance had horrified Evie. The same was true of the vampires who attacked her carriage a year ago.

She was scared of all vampires. All humans feared vampires. Vampires were the villainous monsters that mothers always used to scare their children. And yet, here she was, about to marry one of them.

Lost in her own fears, Evie didn’t realize that she had reached the altar and she was instantly pulled back to the present when a hand appeared in her view. She almost stumbled in shock. Staring at the hand, Evie swallowed. She just knew this was the hand of the vampire prince she was going to marry.

Slowly, she lifted her eyes, her gaze moving from his hand, up to his elbow, across to his abdomen before stopping on his chest. She breathed in silently before she continued upwards, finally stopping on his face.

And the moment their eyes met… Evie’s heart momentarily stopped.

‘Lin Che got up from the bed in a daze.’
‘Her mind was so cloudy that she did not quite feel like herself. The luxurious sheets touching her palm were not the usual ones that she had washed until they aged; the light above her head was also not the half-damaged, energy-saving lamp that she was accustomed to waking up to.

‘Her body ached badly as if it had just been torn apart by something. When she lifted her wrist, the purplish-green marks on it were clear and obvious to the eye. That was not a dream, right…

‘She covered her mouth to stop herself from making any noise and lifted the blanket. When she saw that her body was completely naked, she almost let out a scream.

‘Lin Che’s astute eyes rolled along the bottom of her eyelids twice. She decisively removed the blanket and got out of bed. After gathering her messy clothes, she carelessly put them on and prepared to leave without looking back.

This strange woman had skin as fair as snow, a pleasantly-small face, and a pair of big, expressive eyes. Her eyelashes fluttered like a deer in headlights, but she glared at him unyieldingly.

Gu Jingze’s gaze fixed on Lin Che as her eyes started to move quickly along with her head. She was but a D-list celebrity. After going through many difficulties, she had found out today that A-list celebrity Gu Jingyu was here. Thus, she specifically bought some “condiments” that could make one lose consciousness and put them in his water, thinking that she could take advantage of him…

However, she had drugged the wrong person. The person before her, though dizzyingly handsome, was evidently not the top celebrity Gu Jingyu. He pulled roughly on her arm again, sending her to the ground. Embarrassingly, she even rolled over once before finding her bearings.

Half of her snow-white shoulder was exposed and the purplish-green bruises on it were all the more prominent like plum blossoms blooming on her tender, white skin.

The images of the previous night flashed through his mind a second time. His lower abdomen suddenly heated up again and he felt the obvious arousal surging through his body. He shifted his gaze away from her. This damned woman… How dare she drug him? And with such a potent drug. His momentary loss of focus finally gave Lin Che an opportunity. In her desperation, she jumped off the bed and pushed him away. Not daring to look back, she quickly ran out.

Upon hearing him hiss, she shouted, “What are you looking at? Go look at yourself!” “You…” Gu Jingze was just about to turn around and grab her when he felt a wave of discomfort. His lower area was once again standing tall and proud. “Damn it,” he cursed loudly. He clenched his fist in an attempt to curb that damned desire.

Only their clothes and wind had fluttered with the fierce gale of wind that blew across the sky.

Between these two people, one of them was a youth that was no older than 20 years old. This youth was incredibly handsome with a flawless facial appearances. But even now, the splendid light he had cast in his former days had been passed on from generation to generation. A hundred years later, his strength was surely much stronger than before; meaning that there was no one that knew just how strong Dugu Qiubai had become.

Silently, Dugu Qiubai stared at the 20 or so years old Jian Chen from a hundred meters away. His eyes were extremely terrifying and seemed to contain a sharp sword-like glare that seemed as if it could freeze someone at times.

Except at the entrance only the lights in the garden were on. She started running on the pavement which was directing towards the garden. After crossing few trees, she stopped at a certain distance away from a patio, which was in the centre of the garden.

A circular shade supported with 4 strong pillars having a beautiful design carved on it. There were two small semi circular wooden tables to sit inside it. It located in the centre of quite a big circular fish pond and was connected to the land with small wooden bridge.

Her expressions changed as if she found what she was looking for and got relaxed while breathing heavily. In that shade, there was a figure facing in an opposite direction to where the woman was standing. It was a man in his early 20s. He was wearing a white shirt and black pant. His suit jacket was lying on one of the semicircular sitting table. Shirt’s sleeves were folded upward and his hands were tucked in his pant’s pockets. Top two buttons were undone showing part of his strong chest and collar bones.

His features were sharp, pointed nose, deep black eyes, strong jaw line, thin and attractive lips, his skin was fair and looked radiant in a light emitting from the orange shade light bulbs which were hanging to the ceiling of patio. His build was strong. his black hairs were quite damp and messy may be because of the rain and pointed downward towards his eyes. His expressions were blank with his eyes staring in the dark without any emotions.

The girl soaked in a rain walked forward and stopped few steps away from him.. She called his name, “Lu Lijun!!”. He noticed it but there was no reply. She was angry but she controlled it and said again, “Do you have any idea, how much everyone is worried about you? Everyone one is searching for you out there. Let’s go back!!”

“I don’t want to.” He said without looking at her.

“Then what do you want to do Haaaaa!!!? Ok let it be then. I am not here to handle your tantrums. Just give me an answers to my questions so that I can explain it to others. Why did you walk out of your marriage at the last moment?? Tell me!!”

Still there was no reply from him as he was not feeling guilty about anything and she got more irritated. Then she just started asking him all the things she had in her mind without a pause.

“How can you do this to Liwei ? Do you know how much you hurt her? If you didn’t want to marry her why did you agree for that? Why did you give her false hopes. And what about father?? How can you make him lower his head in front of everyone?”

She was burning with an anger shouting at him. But there was no reaction from him. He was calm just staring blankly in a dark. There was only a sound of rain and wind.

After getting no reply from him , she yelled again. “Lu Lijun!! I need an answer. What’s in your mind?? What are you thinking to act so recklessly?? Why are you being like this? Just tell me, why did you do that ?? Whyyy??

His voice was calm and when he called her name his eyes were filled with a love and warmth. He looked very relax as if the burden on his heart had been lifted.. He looked calm and compose just staring at her.

She was shocked that her eyes were wide open, shakingly she took few steps back and stood there with a support from the pillar beside her as if she had heard something terrible. She got back to her senses, her eyes were furious. “What did you just say? Are you out of your mind? Are you crazy? how can y…..”

Before she could finish her sentence, Lu Lijun Moved towards her, grabbed her hands and pushed her to the pillar besides her. Before she could react he kissed her. She was shocked, tried to push him away but his grip was very strong. More she struggled, more strong it got. after few moments, he stopped kissing but still pressing her against the pole. His face was still close to her as they could feel each others breath. Looking in her eyes he asked, “Why? Am I not allowed to go crazy for you?” And before she could react he kissed her again and this time it was more intense trying to engulf her completely.

He bite her lower lip. She felt a current of pain running through her body. She was still trying to push him away as she was unable to breath. After few minutes he stopped and again looked into her eyes like he was expecting to see something. But there was nothing other than shock and anger. She was furious and asked “w…what do you think you are doing?” She tried to push him away and run but there was no use.

He pulled her back and hold her even more tightly. Caught her left hand behind her back with his right hand and his left hand was on the back of her neck holding her head at a place and then he answered her question while looking into her eyes intensely, “I am loving my wife”. Claiming his right on her he kissed and kissed her again like the feelings he kept burried in his heart for long time were exploding at once….

He glared at everyone in his field of vision with hatred in his eyes and laughed coldly. As soon as his laughter reached the level of ice, he roared: “You son of a b*tches, you want my Sky Poison Pearl… You. Are. All. Daydreaming!!”

After making this deep proclamation, Yun Che suddenly raised his hand and threw the Sky Poison Pearl in his mouth. He then pushed the pearl down his throat and it instantly rushed straight into his stomach.

John crossed his arms over his chest. “None,” she said coldly.

Kai Yang’s spine was as straight as a javelin, and with his face had a meticulous expression. Even though he was completing the lowest ranked job. His actions were very calm, he didn’t exert much force on the broom, his body didn’t even move that much. With only the rotation of his wrist, the broom moved effortlessly. When his body moved, the dust and trash on the ground seemed to magically accumulate in one place around him, just like they had grown a pair feet.

Kai Yang was the Sky Tower’s experimental disciple. For three he had trained in the school, but he had only reached the tempered body third stage. Yet the other disciples that had entered at the same time as him had long surpassed him and reached higher stages. They were all able to enter into the main building, pay their respects and make advances towards their futures. While he can only lament about his inadequacy in the outer courts.

The tempered body third stage in three years cannot be called bad or good, but really, really mediocre.

Helplessly, Kai Yang could only continue to sweep out here in the outer court. Working hard to support himself and working hard in training.

Although the grounds were not that large, but due to the brutal nature of their disciples, their might is second to none! This is also because, each disciples’ skill is like a tiger and walking out, no one in all the rivers and lakes dares to provoke them.

Though the Sky Tower School has one rule. That’s to fourteen year old disciples, the first three years of their acceptance is considered the testing phase. In these three years, all of the disciples food, clothing, shelter are provided by the outer court. Disciples only need to focus on cultivating. If in these three years you can breakthrough the tempered body, then you are able to enter the inner court to pay respects to your elders and become their students. Of course you don’t need to have a teacher and practise on your own, but the difference in learning by yourself and having a teacher is very large. In a way, the Sky Tower rules do have some flexibility and freedom.

In those three years if you don’t break through, then you can either leave the school or be demoted to an experimental disciple.

Experimental disciple is Kai Yang’s current status! He is also Sky Tower School’s shame!

Compared to normal disciples, their treatment is very different. Experimental disciples must provide for their food, shelter, clothing, for the outer court will no longer waste cultivating resources on these trashes. Once demoted to experimental disciples, you basically can never advance. Unless you manage to increase your cultivation level quickly. Only then will the school let you attempt to become a true disciple.

The entire Sky Tower consists of three thousand disciples, while the experimental disciples? You can count them on your ten fingers! Kai Yang has faith that he can become a true disciple!

For experimental disciples who want to survive in Sky Tower, is like wanting to reach the heavens. Take Kai Yang for example, the current hut that he is living in was built by him, one log at a time. Even though sweeping itself didn’t use a lot of energy, but without food or drink since the morning and constantly moving, Kai Yang was covered in sweat. This had nothing to do with strength, by his physique was very poor. Two out of three meals he was hungry. For anybody living like him, how could their physique be good.

Gradually Sky Tower disciples surrounded him. These disciples had woke up early, not to cultivate but to look at him. They had great interest in Kai Yang, looking at him with avid gazes like they were staring at a naked beauty. A sweet fragrance like juicy meat bins wafted.

Among those Tower disciples gathered around Kai Yang, there was also a tense competitive atmosphere in the air. Looking at each other warily, all held an unfriendly look.

Someone in the crowd softly said: “So many people, it’s a bit excessive ah.”

It was that moment they said: “Do you think anybody can walk this path huh. Nobody wants you to stay.”

That statement made the person who spoke embarrassed. For everybody body knew why they were gathered hey, why they were all looking at Kai Yang, all waiting for that moment to come. The deadline was about to arrive, leaving now was not a pity? If you can grab the funds, and today it is also a harvest.

The commotion next to him, Kai Yang naturally knew, though his expression never changed. They will parade themselves every five days, six times a month. He has already gotten used to it, nothing to make a fuss out of. He also noticed the amount of people in front of him had decreased, they probably had not all arrived yet.

“Rubbish! Choose me, I will be merciful. I will end it in one fist, and I promise not to waste everyone’s time.”

“Pick me……”

It was very clamorous, just like in a marketplace where vendors were trying to sell their produce and competing on whose produce was fresher.

“Kai Yang, you can choose your own opponent!” Someone reminded.

Kai Yang chuckled, readily he lifted his broom and threw it to the sky. The dozens of pairs of eyes looked up, full of expectation, waited for the broom to fall whilst praying: “choose me, choose me!” Time seemed to slow down, the broom turned a few times in the air and immediately fell on the ground with a loud boom, no longer moving.

The broom head pointed into the crowd to a burly teenager. A regretful sound, the crowd full of resentment and resignation. But that burly youngster laughed out loud and rushed out: “Fellow disciples, this brother won this battle today, but hopes fellow disciple do not blame me.”

“Che, lucky bastard!” One jealously said.

“Why couldn’t it choose me, for I come every five days, for a month! Kai Yang you aren’t doing this on purpose are you?”
