Romance / Re: Should I Allow My Womanizing Friend Date My Sister by samuelson06(m): 1:43pm On Aug 27, 2023
Switinthemiddle:
Happy sunday y'all, so i have this issue bothering me that i need advice on.

So me and this my guy have known for some years now and i know him as someone who has a flaw for anything under skirts.

It didnt bother me all these while cause i am nt one to judge until recently when i found out from my girlfriend that he was codedly wooing my junior sister and they just started dating.

Now the problem is i dnt knw if i should warn my sister about him and try and put a stop to the relationship or just try and give him and her a chance.

Please advice

If your sister agree you can't stop them. Always, it's the woman that chooses whom she wants to date or fall in love with. If your sister doesn't know what's good for her, then she should just forget it. Men will pound her until she grows into maturity. You can only talk to her about the guy and relationship in general, but you can't choose for her.

Some don't want Nigeria and BAT to succeed!

But they want a good life in Nigeria!

How do you expect people to respect or honor a product of a fraudulent process? It's very difficult. As a person, I don't hate BAT and I don't wish him bad in his personal life, but I can't support a government that forced itself upon the country. Nigeria deserves better than a BAT.

The only reason we are experiencing so much hardship today in Nigeria is because of the process that produced BAT as the president. That guy knows nothing about governance at the federal level, same way as Buhari, his predecessor. So, if you like, pray or wish him well from now till tomorrow, the economy will still be in shambles.

I completely understand where you are coming from.

The Federal Mortgage Bank disburses the NHF Loan through PMBs or Primary Mortgage Banks.

But the major problem many people face is Qualifying For The NHF Loan.

And that is where our online platform H28 comes in.

H28 is an online platform that helps you save up your down payment and qualify for the National Hosuing Fund Loan.

Our mission is clear - Help as many Nigerians as possible, no matter how much they earn, to qualify for the NHF Loan and buy their first home.

Please don't forget to register for the event here ==> https://lu.ma/0s1jaegx

We hope to see you there!

Thank you for your contribution.

You can't just be an online platform when you are talking about housing. Is it online that you will give me the house? Tell me your physical address so I can take you serious.

Romance / Re: My Mum Is Strongly Rejecting The Girl I Want To Marry by samuelson06(m): 12:51pm On Aug 21, 2023
Blaze14k:
I would like to use this opportunity to seek guidance based on the issue I have on ground. I believe it's igbos especially elderly person who is in a better position to give me a reasonable explanation. I told my mum my girlfriend is from ohafia, abia state and she instantly told me I can't get married to her. Her reason is because people from ohafia, arochukwu, izombe, and few other places in abia state are regarded as OSU. I complained to other members of my family but they also rejected her.

I have made some research personally and found out people from other part of igboland marry from those places. Now my question is why are they strongly rejecting her cos it doesn't make sense to call everybody from different local government in abia state OSU.

I've made more research on the girls family and found out they are king makers and her father belongs to eze's cabinet.

Her father and mine are no longer alive. They both have a traditional title and belong to eze's cabinet too. Please I need your advice cos I really want marry this girl. I also know that people encounter alot of difficulties when they want to get married. So I need a clarification from someone who has extensive knowledge on igbo tradition. Thank you.

A mom is a mom. She's the remaining parent for you right now and surely have a say in your life. The elders are even with her. So, what exactly can I say? Sincerely, I can't go against her. She may be wrong but I can't go against her words, especially when even the elders are with her.

However, if I were in your shoes, I'll seek a higher authority if I can't hear from God. And I'll recommend that for you. Seek God's face through His true prophets or go with your mom. Don't override her except you hear from God.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Actually Flopped In My Micro Teaching Interview by samuelson06(m): 12:19pm On Aug 21, 2023
dboY1123:
My previous post about a big school that called me for an Interview, Well I actually went there, did my test and when I was asked to come in for Micro Teaching where I was faced with Staff of the school and maybe the principal, I flopped and panicked heavily.

The fear was well written all over my face and I was just saying rubbish despite choosing to teach "Matter" as my topic. Immediately I came in and they asked for my name and few other questions before the micro teaching, my voice was already shaking as if I have never taught before in my life(they noticed and told me to calm down).

Although I am an introvert, I hardly face audience talk more of strangers and the quest to ensure that I performed, those things enveloped/swallowed me completely. I have never taught in such a big school before, I think my qualification was what made them approach me in the first place.

One of the staff kept throwing questions at me, I mean confusing questions just to know my depth of knowledge in the particular topic, and guess what? I flopped totally and became disorganized. But luckily, there was a man among the panel who gave me the option of coming back and prove myself that I am a qualified teacher as stated in my CV or I should take another topic I'm more comfortable with. So, I opted to leave and come back so I can regain my confidence.

Now, I have been given enough time to go and make research and convince them on Monday.
How do I conquer that fear and what are the things they look so I can prepare hard.
Thank you.

You were just too serious. Next time, calm down and talk. Sometimes, you can even switch to pigin, then switch back. If possible, say something to make them laugh before you start talking. That will calm your nerves and helps you see them as friendly.

Most importantly, just know all of them on that panel are poorly paid and their mind isn't much in what they are doing sef. They don't have anything to gain in running you down. So, just be yourself and talk. All of you are at the same level—just managing.

You can even choose not see them as staff of the school or adults, but as your students or siblings. It's a simple stuff bro. Just go and teach them as though you are teaching children. Most likely, you'll answer most of their questions. Be bold to tell them you can't answer some of their questions.

I have plan with the third and second option.

Get funds through the job for MSc in Public Health while on the job as Marketing affords the time, then get out to NGO.

The shortest method to succeeding in NGO is building from ground up, doing consultancies here and there, and getting all the referees/recommendations from senior staff.

You can't just break in there to do something better (let's say an officer position) because you have an MSc in Public Health. Remember, you'll be having zero NGO experience. They won't even want to see your banking experience. It'll sort of work against you having a BSc in Medical Biochemistry, worked as a bank marketer, then, acquired MSc in Public Health to run to NGO. That's confusion. Consider your future more than today, at least you are not begging. Take your time and build yourself.

If you are going to the bank, take the IT option along and forget about NGO/Public Health.

All the best.

Career / Re: Advice Needed: Taking A Career Leap by samuelson06(m): 11:44pm On Aug 17, 2023
Collinsemegreat:

Medical Biochemistry

Studying Medical Biochemistry and pursuing a career in the banking/finance sector doesn't make much sense. I understand you have to eat but I don't see you growing in the finance sector. Sooner or later, you'll sort of regret going there. I am saying this because your background isn't strong in banking/finance. I don't know how you are going to start building on Medical Biochemistry to support your banking career.

Do you think the bank will regard your degree in Medical Biochemistry? I doubt. Again, you can't even take advanced courses in banking/finance because you don't have the qualification. Forget that you are scaling through the interview. It's a trap because they know you don't have a background there and promotion is going to be hard for you. I would've encouraged you to take the offer if you studied something like Marketing, Banking/Finance, or any other finance-related course. Trust me, it's easy for banks to employ people that don't have a background in banking/finance than for them to employ those that studied banking/finance.

Consider your degree first in any work that you want to do except you want to go there and struggle. Promotion becomes easy when your course of study is relevant to your job, even if it's in the civil service, it's the same. So, I'll encourage you to look beyond today.

Way forward:
1. Build from your background/degree and go up from there else the degree won't be of much value to you in other areas that the degree isn't relevant. Hence, see how you can start doing something in your field even if it means starting small.
2. Keep your present job and switch to IT. Do a professional course (e.g., web programming, android development, cybersecurity, etc.) so in future, you can work from home for yourself.
3. Seek to volunteer in a very good NGO while switching to relevant NGO courses via PGD => M.Sc (e.g., Demography, Community Development, International Development, Project Management, Public Health, Social Work, etc.). Once you've established your area of development work, you'll also need to acquire some relevant professional certifications.

Final note: Don't go to the bank. Even if you do M.Sc in Medical Biochemistry. They won't regard it. By the way, once you join them, you may not have time to study again.

You don’t stop importing Rice without having your own Rice enough for your population.
I remember when I wanted to buy another car, so I had to sold my old car to add up, but I made proper plan on how to get to work and I know I will be attending a wedding, I already approach a friend to lend me his car… it all went smoothly as plan…
But in Nigeria, one idiot will just make give order without plan… see this subsidy matter now… everywhere don gbez.

I like the fact that you truly understand the problem of Nigeria. Trust me, it's not like they don't know, they don't just care. They don't care about the people; they don't care about the country. And by the time the repercussion of their action strikes, they behave as though they care, meanwhile, they know exactly how they pulled the plug and let things collapse.

Nigeria is just a rubbish place. I've never seen a country that its leaders don't have any iota of love for it or its people. Look at someone like Akpabio that have been in government since God knows when is still the same person fueling corruption in the national assembly; same with Tinubu, and the rest of them. What money do these men want to make again even at the expense of the country? If Tinubu loved this country in the first place, he wouldn't have contested knowing fully well that he's sick and lacks the strength to govern this country. To make matters worse, he's now settling his corrupt party members with ministerial and other positions. Would the country ever make sense? This is even happening after Buhari's eight years doing nothing.

Look at how the country's economy is dwindling; look at how inflation and hardship is dealing with the people, yet these guys don't care. I bet you the FG can fix all our refineries within three months to stabilize the economy but they won't do it. I bet you they can work closely with states to unbundle power generation and distribution within three years and ensure we have 24/7 light but they won't do it.

Many times I'll keep wondering and becoming very sad about Nigeria. We are just suffering for nothing. I don't see any reason that people from a country blessed with enormous natural resources can be suffering the way we suffer in Nigeria. I'm not even talking about roads. Within the city of Calabar as I speak to you, lots of streets have gone very bad, yet the government doesn't care.

We are just there surviving while 1% of the country's population swallow all the good of the land.

I just so bad. So so bad.

The easy way to stop the naira from falling is to reduce our dependency.
Build refinery (that might take more than 8 years though)
Let’s stop importing wheats (that we can achieve in 18 months, if serious)
Let’s stop fish importation.
Fabrics.
And pretty much every nonsense we keep importing while we have the capacity to grow it or produce it in here.
But our leaders are always lazy and they don’t care about the future of the country….
It’s all about doing yeye project…. Nobody thinks about Wealth creation for the next generation.
Mr Bola Tinubu no try at all.

All those things you are calling on the government to stop people from importing, I hope if they stop importing them today, you'll have enough of them to consume. That's how you guys were asking the government to stop rice importation. Where are we today on that?
