mofedamijo: please is it applicable to every age or those born after 1993?? thanks. I think its better you just do it to avoid unnecessary stories. I'm certain you'll need it for your status adjustment when you get into the U.S |

kunlelikeme: It seems that the K1visa is not affected by the ban but its a visa for immigrant intent. I have asked this before but I just hope that we can be able to change our status when we enter. MI fiance called uscis and they said that we cafn still change our status when we come in with K1 visa. If not I and my fiance have agreed to get married in there, then we file for spousal visa while I return to Europe to work and tidy up things. We can also apply for non-immigrant k3 visa which will allow me have multiple entry until the spousal petition I130 is approved instead of waiting for adjustment of status. I hope I am not making a wrong decision though You have called and was told you can adjust status. Why complicate issues with those other options? |

NTUk1: Yh. The problem is when you lie on a previous application that you’re married and can’t provide a divorce certificate for the previous marriage obviously because it was a lie. Exactly! |

NTUk1: Those of us on VJ pls have you noticed it’s the people from other countries that are more interested in the travel ban, saying there’s no way we are not affected and now are wondering why it doesn’t affect K1 applicants. Like they really want it to affect us. I’ve never seen such in my life! The comments are just negative but God will prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies! My dear...so annoying negative vibes from them. Something wey no be their business o, them carry matter put for head. God pass them jare! |

NTUk1: I’ve actually heard of people getting denied because their interview date was after the expiry of their petition and the consular officer didn’t extend their petition. I think you should fix a date to avoid any complications. Really? Not heard of such Thanks for the info Will surely fix a date... |

Laboutique: Well hurry up so that when you are ready there would still be dates available before your case expiration date, because that in itself is an issue Thanks much. Ive learnt from here that all you need to ensure is to book the interview before the expiration date. It doesn't matter if you get a date afterwards. |

BENSU: I just called customer service agent, the lady said she can't say if K1 visa is affected by the visa ban because K1 is not an immigrant visa neither is it a full non-immigrant visa, but what she called "Special Non- Immigrant Visa", she said that i should visit the US Embassy in Lagos for clarification Whatever that means....we need a real scenario from anyone going for the interview soon |

paosca20: I called the US embassy today! The agent was willing to tell me about the visa ban in regards to k-1 visa but he asked if I have an active case and required my name, passport number and date of birth. My case is closed since my visa has already been issued so I couldn’t proceed! At this point, I suggest that someone with an active case make the call. Here is the number; +234 1 227 8955. Thanks
Update: I and a friend I met here picked our passports and accompanying package today! We give thanks to God, and to everyone in this great house! You guys are all good people! LOL! Congratulations again....Wish you all the best & thanks for this information |

codemaster2much: My us k1 visa was denied under Section 212(a)(5)(A), when I asked the consular officer for the specific reason for the denial he didn't tell me, however he told me to get an immigration lawyer, what can I do, can I reapply for a new interview ? Does this mean they think you're married OR Did you ever fill a US application form in the past and indicated Married on the previous application before this K1? |

dicsnemma: I am sorry to hear that bro. But from what I’ve read here taking the spousal route is your best option. However, make sure to do your research on that section 212(a) (5) (A) of immigration law I think, so understand why exactly you were denied so as not to face another denial. Sorry about the denial bro. |

Iampeterpyper: Good evening, my financee is coming to Nigeria to meet me and we are planning to file K1 visa for me as soon as she gets back to the States, please I want to know if Trump’s new visa policy does not affect K1 visa since it’s under non-immigrants visa category? The earlier you start the process, the better for you cus its a long journey ahead. The ban must have been lifted before you get to the stage of interview( i.e if the ban is gonna affect K1 for Nigerians as we're hoping to get news from them asap). All the best! |

davido05: Hello house please I need help and advice. My passport will expire by July and currently I am waiting interview date. My passport renewal process is so stressful due to my date of birth issue on my NIN synchronized from my bvn. please how can I go about a fast track renewer so it won't affect my immigrant visa interview date.
Note. I have paid 15k for change of DOB at NIN office alausa on Friday . What's your interview date? The new rule is you MUST have your NIN number to renew your passport. My advice for you is to find anyone who works with NIMC Abuja as that's where the DOB correction is being done from their back end server. Pls don't take this with levity as it takes almost 6 months to get them fix it. You'll have to send the person in Abuja your DOB in process slip you were given at Alausa to help you fast track it(You'll definitely pay for it to be done asap). Good luck. |

LegitBachelor: I have gotten my greencard guys. I give God all the praise. It took 8 months to get my greencard. I had thought it'll take more than a year going by the history of approvals for Dallas, Texas.
The documents I submitted for greencard application were: filled i485 form, certified marriage certificate, birth certificate, NPC Attestation of Birth, NOAs received for i129F, Fiancee Visa, Data Page of International Passport, i94, Marriage Pictures, Joint Bank Account, Life Insurance, Copy of DS3025, copy of immunization card, Evidence of Residence, my wife's evidence of US citizenship, my wife's tax returns, my wife's paystubs, my wife's W2s, my wife's employment letter, etc. I didn't get any RFEs.
Got the interview notice after 7 months. The interview notice is usually given a month before the scheduled date.. and my wife went for the interview. We went with a copy of all the documents we had submitted earlier. We also went with new pictures and new tax documents. The interview was very fast. We were even called in before the time. Was asked questions on dates. Was also asked on how we met. Was a very informal interview...lots of jokes and chats. He told us he will approve our petition. I got my greencard 6 days after. Big congratulations to you bro. Thanks be to God & thanks for all your input on this forum. We sincerely appreciate you. All the best |

peeroyy: Good morning. I also got approved yesterday, thank God.
Transcript: Who petitioned for you? How did we meet? What does she do for a living? I was told to be a little explicit about the job function. When did we start talking? When did we meet? How many times has she visited? What's her personality like? What's her favourite food.( This came up as a result of my answer to the above question). Why are we not getting married in Nigeria? What are our wedding plans? And she asked for pictures to see.
It was a nice experience. Be prayerful, confident, honest and know your partner. Congratulations to you too |

UhnNah: Im not against your other opinions on here, but the accent part, who or what makes the American accent the official and acceptable accent of the world? You have yours,we have ours! Before i got used to foreign accents,i could barely hear what people in Asia or North America were saying, but i never complain or think im better because i understand we’re just ‘different’ The amount of people that speaks fluent English in Asia on all of my visits to the continent are countable! All of their English is broken!
And since we’re all profiling strangers on here! Lol,if im to profile you! You’re not Nigerian,i picked that up from your previous comments/thought process and definitely not White-American! Probably mexican,European in the United States! Who dash him monkey banana The guy's just one JJC forming ITK everywhere on the travel forum. The guy's probably from Iran or Iraq |
