YES fleps: I am not here to answer questions about Bulk SMS business. I have questions myself. I don't have a bulk SMS business running but soon, I'll launch mine and some questions have been bugling my mind since yesterday.
I respect the big professional SMS guns out of there. They're seriously making money. I know how much the firm I work for spend on SMS quarterly.
There are many things big firms look out for when they want to choose a bulk SMS platform and sadly only about 2% of the total number of Bulk SMS websites have it.
I'm looking for a gateway and this question popped... What if the credits my user wants to buy is way larger than the number I have with my gateway? What happens? I'll quickly go to purchase or my gateway will charge me later?
I'll be asking more... |

According to Oluyede, “the orchestrated tirade against the Supreme Court of Nigeria in respect of daring to do the unthinkable by scuttling the politically motivated stampede to remove Bukola Saraki from his position as Senate President through a wholly unconstitutional trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal is understandable. “Both eminent lawyers are intolerably wrong and thus give the impression that their per incuriam opinions could only have been motivated by prejudice and not by their well known life long struggle for the public good.” While noting that those raising the issue against the ruling of the apex court in respect of an issue which is still sub-judice, smacks criminal contempt, he added that it is erroneous for anyone to state that it is illegal to grant a stay of proceedings in criminal proceedings. “If the Supreme Court perceives that the criminal proceedings against Senator Saraki might have been improperly instigated for any reason it is obliged to join in the fight against corruption by stopping it completely and to this end may properly stay proceedings until it is satisfied that its perception is wrong.” Lauding the fight against corruption in the country, Oluyede, however, noted that the idea to limit the power of the courts to grant stay of proceedings in criminal trials is not the appropriate way to root out the corruption in the judiciary, adding that the method must not be at the expense of the integrity of the institutions of democracy. “Care must be taken by the Buhari Government and his and his advisers not to end up reducing the judiciary to irrelevance under the cover of this "war against corruption" https://www.nairaland.com/2744915/supreme-court-ruling-saraki-appropriate |

PLS ENLIGHTEN US OOOOOOOO bilulu: I want to ask my fellow engineers (COREN and NSE) recognized in the house; wat exactly is the function of these bodies? Is it just to collect their dues and organize conferences that will be attended by non engineers from different sectors? How on earth can a barrister be heading engineering sectors (power, works and housing)? You may say let's give them the benefit of doubt but can we try this in health, justice and finance? We need to get things straight for things to move in the right direction. A conference is being organized by NSE next week. The conference is suppose to be for engineers but you will see some ministries that will send other profession to that conference just because of the allowance attach not because they have any meaningful contributions. How will things work in this country if we don't put things in place? The various profession should head their relevant field for the benefit of it and not for the personal gain. |

Politics › Re: TSA: AGF Disowns Remita by Sanuzi(m): 8:12am On Nov 18, 2015 |
IS OKAY WAITING FOR SEASON 2 ziccoit: The Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Alhaji Ahmed Idris, has distanced his office from the use of Remita software, owned by SystemSpecs, for the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy. This is even as the Senate on Tuesday said it would not bow to any form of intimidation on its resolve to probe the alleged fraud of N25 billion in the management of the Treasury Single Account (TSA). The Senate had last week accused SystemSpec/Remita of ripping off the Federal Government to the tune of a whopping N25 billion just by using its software to transfer Federal Government’s funds from financial institutions into a single treasury account (TSA).
The Senate further alleged that the said sum of N25 billion accrued to Remita after it charged 1 per cent of all the monies that passed through it which amounted to N2.5 trillion. In an interview with the Daily Times in his office in Abuja, the AGF said he never signed any contract with Remita, adding “officially, I don’t know Remita. Who engaged them?” He stated that if actually his office was aware of the deal, ‘’why is it that the National Assembly did not invite me but CBN?”
Also reacting to the TSA commission scandal on Tuesday, the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed insisted that the funds that have accrued to the Treasury Single Account remain intact and challenged anyone who has any fact and figure to the contrary to make such information public. In a statement issued in Abuja, Mohammed reiterated the fact that less than N2 trillion has accrued to the TSA, hence the one per cent charges on the amount could not have been N25 billion.
He said “For the sake of Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora who have been following the TSA debate, we hereby restate the facts: The TSA deal was initiated by the immediate past administration but only enjoyed a new lease of life under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari because of his sterling leadership qualities of accountability, transparency, uprightness and respect for the rule of law. “Any agreement on the TSA charges was reached long before the present administration assumed office. “Even if the agreement on the charges is one per cent, it could not have amounted to N25 billion because the total amount of money that has accrued to the TSA is less than 2 trillion Naira. “Even if one per cent was agreed as charges, whatever accrues therefrom was meant to be shared among the CBN, Systemspecs (the owner of the Remita software) and the commercial banks, hence no single company could have collected 25 billion Naira as charges. “As at the time the controversy over the TSA broke, the total amount of money in the TSA was less than 800 billion Naira. “The TSA has neither been enveloped in any fraud nor has any money from the account been diverted.”
Meanwhile, the Senate on Tuesday while insisting that it would not be intimidated on its resolve to probe alleged N25 billion fraud in the management of the TSA said it has a constitutional duty to institute probe into activities of government considered suspicious most especially on issues bothering on financial impropriety. The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, said this when reacting to a motion moved by Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West) who called the attention of the plenary to a newspaper article, which he said, was published to blackmail the Senate on TSA. Saraki said: “No amount of either blackmail or intimidation will stop us from doing the work we have to do”. “We have a responsibility here to ensure that there are no leakages in government funds and if there are, we will call the attention of the public and do whatever it takes to salvage the situation; it is our responsibility. “The fact about the TSA will come out and everybody will have opportunity before the committee to state the fact, the facts will speak for themselves.’’
Melaye while moving his motion said the article written by a Managing Director of a national daily (not Daily Times) was intended to rubbish the Senate’s attempt to probe the allegation of a rip-off by an agent appointed to manage the transfer of monies from Commercial Banks into the coffer of the Central Bank on the TSA initiative.

At some point i stopped and opened my pigeon hole and there it was, a ball of weed purposely implanted. as you would expect i flung it far away into the bush. shortly after i took off i met another check point. this time too they cleared me. one of them asked me to stand aside while he searched like a mad man n found nothing.ijusdeylaf |
Business › Re: 5 Social Media Marketing Strategies For Small Businesses by Sanuzi(m): 7:59am On Nov 18, 2015 |
NOTED vicbon14: Just as the day goes by, the whole world is moving closer to the era when if you are not online you are out of business. Social media marketing plays an important role in making sure your marketing strategy is achieved especially at this time when we are in the social networking era. Today we are going to look at 5 tips to increase your social media marketing success, they are as follows: Number1: Align your social media message with your brand image As we know that in social media, we are equally dealing with human beings, therefore they too want to deal with real person and not robot. To make this happen, you must ensure that the tone of your social media messages are aligned with your company’s brand. For instance, if your firm is dealing with casual wears that caters for the university student, you can as well be casual in your manner of approach, make use of relaxed tone on your social media page while as an investment firm you have no option than to be professional with your information and approach. In essence, understanding your audience matters a lot. Number2: Respond to client as soon as possible Whenever a customer ask a question and there is no response for a very long time, the customer feels neglected, therefore the faster you reply to their questions the better. The reason for this is that we are in a ‘jet’ world era where everything is done in a jiffy more especially when they have a complaint. There is need for you to be at the top of it in order to build your customer trust and loyalty. Number3: Don’t fail to take advantage of the Group Feature Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin are the three outstanding social media network; therefore take advantage of the features therein to easily create prospects, loyal customers, positive feedback etc. Create distinct campaign for each group for it will be a helpful tool for your company. Number4: Be real – add name and face to your marketing strategy Like I said earlier on, people on social media want to deal with ‘genuine people’ not faceless entities, that is why you must build your relationship personally that is use your personal name with your valid picture when communicating with them. Number5: Track more of your customers Make use of all the available tracking system in the social media networks to track your clients by getting to know what they are interested in for it is an opportunity to be closer to them and it will be beneficial for you in building marketing campaigns that are more targeted. |

Crime › Re: Larmorde On The Run!!! by Sanuzi(m): 7:53am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Prosecutor now been prosecuted Naija Politricks NoRetreat: Alleged N1tr diversion: Lamorde ‘ill, flown abroad.
Immediate past Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, may have been flown abroad for the treatment of undisclosed ailment, The Nation learnt yesterday.
Lamorde, who was scheduled to appear before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions yesterday, failed to honour the invitation provoking wild insinuation that he had fled the country to evade Senate probe of the alleged diversion of N1 trillion leveled against him.
An activist, Dr. George Ubah, wrote a petition to that Senate claiming the Lamorde in his capacity as the EFCC Chairman diverted over N1 trillion recovered by the commission.
Lagos lawyer Festus Keyamo, who stood in for Lamorde, defended him.
Keyamo said, “He (Lamorde) is still a policeman, he has no reason to go on exile. Lamorde has served this country very well and let me tell you this if you don’t know. The only way to succeed as the chairman of EFCC is for you not to succeed at all.
“Lamorde is not here today, not out of disrespect to the committee. It is a matter of complete misunderstanding of issues at stake. When Lamorde was invited to this committee, he was invited as chairman of EFCC and between then and now circumstances had changed.
“He is no longer the chairman of EFCC. So, because of that, he thought that would be the end of his invitation because he was invited in that capacity.
“He then handed over the case and traveled for medicals. It was in his absence that the second letter came and addressed as the immediate past EFCC chairman. The fact that he is no longer the chairman, he can no longer be invited except as a witness.”
The Chairman of the committee, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, noted that Senate does not accept representation when it invites anybody to appear before it.
A member of the committee, Senator Obinna Ogba, wondered why Lamorde failed to live by example being a man who was a former boss of the anti-graft agency that usually invited people to appear before it.
He said the non appearance of Lamorde at the probe was an insult, and disrespect to the Senate.
Senator Tayo Alasoadura, who is also a member of the committee, said: “We are in a situation whereby people are showing their shamelessness.”
Alasoadura queried the capacity in which Keyamo was in the Senate being a lawyer to the EFCC “and the man he claimed to represent is no longer in office as chairman.”
The Chairman of the committee stopped Keyamo half way insisting that anybody could be invited by the Senate panel to come and give evidence.
What followed was hot exchange of words between Keyamo and members of the committee.
At end Anyanwu insisted that Lamorde should make himself available on November 24 notwithstanding the plea by Keyamo that his client would not be available until December 15.
Keyamo later told reporters that the committee was wrong to have insisted that Lamorde must appear before it.
He said: “The constitution is very clear as to those who can be subject to investigation by section 88, 89 of the constitution. By section 88, 89 of the constitution the Senate has powers over two categories of persons.
“The first are those who are subject of investigation. They can be summoned before the committee and the second are witnesses to appear in respect of that investigation.” |

Fields told investigators that the two were engaged in sexual activity when he put his gun to her head in a role-play scenario that she requested.
He said he removed the magazine from the 9-mm pistol, but forgot to take the bullet out of the chamber. Fields pulled the trigger and shot her in the head. He immediately called 911. He told police that he had only known Meagher for a couple of days before the incident. The hotel surveillance video shows Meagher walking into the room consensually.
Fields said had not yet began having sex, but he was lying on top of her when the gun was fired. He is being held in jail and his bond is set at $30,000. He faces one count of manslaughter with a weapon and a felony one charge.
Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Department says Meagher didn’t have any injuries consistent with sexual battery. Her family is devastated and shocked by the manner in which she died.

Crime › Re: What Is Wrong With Our Policemen? by Sanuzi(m): 7:51am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Hmmmmmm watching in 3D ooooooooooooooo Ozize: So I was gisting with a friend this evening around 7pm and was told about an incident that occured while I was away involving some psych centric police men. This incident according to my friend occured on a sunday afternoon At Ijegun road, bank busstop. A man with his family were returning from church service and as they went via a police checkpoint he was asked to stop, but due to the already loud volume of a christian song playing from his tricycle(known as KEKE NAPEP) he was not able to hear the policeman telling him to stop obviously for no tangible reason(N20 things). The coward took out his AK47 and shot at the tricycle. The bullet went via the man's wife and to the man's head instantly killing both of them. The policeman realising what he had done attempted to escape with the rest but they were quickly apprehended by people around. I am yet to be told what the final judgement was but then a lot of questions have been popping up in my head; WTF is wrong with our policemen? I still do not understand why a policeman should be in possession of a gun? Not to talk of pointing it at an innocent civilian. I see no reason why the people who are meant to protect us be with a deadly weapon. Do we look like animals? are we in a war zone? There are ways to bring about peace and security and its not by using weapon as deadly as gun. How are these policemen even recruited? Is there usually a check on their mental state before they get employed? is there usually a check on their past criminal record? Its hightime the Govt did something about this. I mean it is getting too much. my advice is that the govt should revisit the steps and approached used in recruiting policemen. Criminal and mental record of these men shoud be checked. secondly, no policeman should be allowed to be in possession of any gun of any kind until when the need arise. lastly our policemen lack discipline, they should be seriously disciplined if these rules are slightly broken. Nigerians deserve to feel truely protected and secured. We have the right to live without fear of being wrongfully treated.

Blackberrybabes: A female sergeant, Obotie Adesuwa, is currently in the cell of the X-Squad Section of the Lagos State Police Command, after she allegedly sold a week-old baby boy who had been brought with his mother to a police station. PUNCH Metro learnt that Adesuwa, who hails from Edo State, is attached to the Akinpelu Police Division, where the baby boy and her mother, Toyin, who is said to be mentally unstable, had also been brought to by a Good Samaritan.
It was gathered that the Good Samaritan, who was taking care of the baby’s mother, had brought Toyin and her child to the station after Toyin was delivered of the baby in a psychiatric hospital. They were reportedly brought to the police in the last week of September. It was learnt that Adesuwa, who was on duty, had received the baby.
PUNCH Metro gathered that there was, however, trouble at the Akinpelu division on Monday, November 9, when Toyin showed up at the station to ask for her baby, but the sergeant allegedly denied knowing the woman. It was learnt that the matter had caused an altercation during which the Divisional Police Officer invited the mother and the sergeant and interrogated them. The sergeant was said to have confessed to the DPO that she collected the baby but had sold him.
A police source told our correspondents that Adesuwa allegedly took the baby to her village in Edo State, and later sold him to a family in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Our correspondents learnt that Adesuwa, who allegedly failed to record the incident in the crime diary of the police station on the fateful evening, was then arrested and taken to the Area F command, Ikeja, from where she was later transferred to the X-Squad Section.
The source said, “The incident happened at the Akinpelu Police Division. The sergeant received the report of a mentally deranged woman and her newborn baby. But on the same evening, she was said to have arranged for the woman and the baby to be put inside a car and driven away by unknown persons. “At a junction, the baby’s mother was given N500 and asked to alight. The car drove away with the baby. It was on Monday, November 9, that the mother unbelievably showed up at the station to ask for her baby. The sergeant initially denied ever meeting her. “The DPO was later informed, and took all of them to the Area Commander, and then the female sergeant was arrested. The baby has now been recovered.”
Another source, who claimed to have spoken with Adesuwa after her arrest, added that the sergeant gave the baby to one of her relatives in Edo State to sell to a couple in Port Harcourt at an undisclosed amount. She explained that the baby was later rescued through the help of policemen while the buyer was also arrested.
She said, “The mother of the baby came to ask after him about two months after and that was when the bubble burst. When Adesuwa denied ever knowing her, the baby’s mother was enraged and went to report to the DPO. “The DPO then ordered that Adesuwa be detained. That was when she confessed to the DPO that the baby had been taken to her village, and later sold in Port Harcourt. The suspect, was however, able to help in recovering the baby. “The woman, who helped her to carry the baby to Port Harcourt, has also been arrested. She (Adesuwa) told us, her police friends, that it was the devil that pushed her to commit the crime.” The Lagos State Police Public Relatisons Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed Adesuwa’s arrest, adding that investigation was ongoing. He said, “The sergeant was arrested in connection with a stolen baby boy. Investigation is ongoing.

Heyah pls call 911. sorry abt ur loss bamac: Good morning fellow Nairaladers!
This issue i am bringing to your doorstep this morning is that of the continuous robbery of some police officers in Ijebu-ode.
I call it robbery because i am very sure most of us knows the meaning because the last time i checked, road block is illegal according to the IG of Police.
This police officers stays in front of a filling station(fentop filling station) located at Oke-owa road with their AK47. I think the major reason they are there is for the security of that filling station over night which i am sure they are paid for by the owner of the filling station, but they have been using that as a yardstick to extort motorists, motorcyclists and tricyclists.
Every morning before 6:00am you will find them stopping any mobile object and it is a must each stopped vehicle pays #50. The annoying thing is that they don't listen to people's plea of delaying them when they don't have money being very early in the morning when those that are using those vehicles for business have not collected anything from their passengers, yet they will delay the driver and the passengers not minding the urgency attached to leaving home for work as early as that in ijebu-ode where a bank staffer can even leave his house 5 minutes before official opening time.
There are these Chinese people that passes through that route on their way to their office with police escort, once those police robbers smells that they are coming they will pretend to be passing vehicles so as to reduce the hold-up they caused.
One funny thing about this people is that they put on cardigans to cover their names because they know the implications tied to exposing their name. They have turned this robbery to daily job and they think the people of Ijebu-ode are daft that they cannot do anything, some of them are even at other busy roads very early in the morning doing the same robbery.
Top officers in the police can see this, and the power of Nairaland can even make the IG of police to see this, lalasticlala, seun, farano, Ishilove... You can help the people of Ijebu-ode to make these people to be brought to book because what they are doing is illegal and they are embarrassing police profession which some people are working really hard to change people's bad conception of it, those ones involved in the act in ijebu-ode are pure disgrace to the profession and must be used as scape goat. |

Man Allegedly Murdered by Fulani Herdsmen Dumped in a Bus in Igbere, Bend L.G.A,Abia State
What Igbere people had woke up today to think as an incidence of Road Traffic Accident might have metamorphosed as a Mafia style Assassination by unknown Killers. The scene of this bizarre tragedy is along the Igbere axis of the Umuahia OHAFIA federal Road.
There is a wire to the neck of the Corpse indicating that he might have been hanged and there is no impact on the bus also indicating it is was not likely an accident.
The police from Bende are on top of the matter.
Many of the eye witnesses are suspecting that the murder may have been carried out by Fulani Herdsmen who have been terrorizing Igbere and other neighboring communities.
A hand set was said to have been found in the scene.
