Science/Technology › Re: SpaceX Launch: NASA Astronauts Make History by SarkinYarki: 2:27pm On May 31, 2020 |
MasterRahl:

SpaceX in collaboration with NASA and the United States have sent a 2-man crew to the International Space Station.
Here's my take:
1. The United States has recorded a ground-breaking achievement in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. US recorded one of the highest deaths but this did not deter them from reaching this height.
2. Nigerian politicians have messed up our country. That's a fact! I can't emphasize more on this.
3. Nigerian youths will crowd this forum to bash and castigate the government for not making us great. 50-60% of youths blame the government for joblessness but the same youths refuse to study relevant courses in the tertiary institution that will earn them a chance to Excel in life or contribute to the advancement of the nation. The scientists at NASA are engineers, physicists, mathematicians, economist's, chemists, aerospace scientists, etc. Even Elon Musk himself is a renowned physicist. NIGERIAN youths will earn degrees in religious and cultural studies, social studies, theatre arts, pre-primary education, etc. and still come to Nairaland to blame the government.
My argument is not one-sided in case anyone wants to bash me. I admit that we have a silly government, but the citizens, especially youths are equally silly.
Some folks here claim that the US is a sane clime and wish to fly there at the slightest opportunity. Days ago, the same folks bashed the sane clime for the extrajudicial killing of Floyd.
The United States and other advanced nations welcome people who have something to offer. For now, a great percentage of Naija youths really have nothing to offer.
Let's try to build ourselves. They will not like this comment . Trust me .. Nigeria is the only place I have seen parent tell kids to chose govt work over private work because there is no hard work to be done in govt and you will have time for yourself and free salary later those same parents will come back and say nothing is working in govt |

Mulatta: All present aircraft are noisy, the only reason F-16 and co will appear quiet is because they fly at high attitude unlike the tucano whose role is too provide close air support so it needs to fly closer to the ground resulting in it noise then heard. Am sure insurgents will be too busy battling with ground forces for them to hear it coming I was talking about support for special forces not regular units before the fire fight erupts ..Drones and stealth Helicopters are more suited for supporting special forces these days . |

uzoexcel: so what would u have done? and as @ now,how can the situation be retrieved? I wouldnt have opted for the Economic lockdown . So here is what I would have rather done for a virus that had 2 percent mortality 1 : Containment instead of lockdown : restrict human traffic to and from areas which have significant cases let's say of upto 100. 2 . Selective lockdown for the Vulnerable , those above 60 and those with any underlying co morbidities and put them on palliatives. 3. Make the wearing of Mask and gloves mandatory, ban handshakes and physical contacts . 4. I would have approved the use of Chloroquine as prophylaxy for younger people and first line of treatment of sick people who can handle it . We made a bad mistake with the kind of approach we took , it made matters worse and only similar to a man with dandruff setting his entire head on fire . To retrieve the situation the sooner we open the Economy the better as it's clear this virus will never be a pandemic in Nigeria from what I have seen so far , we will not see people falling on the road , infact Lassa Fever has killed over 1000 people in Nigeria this year alone .. Open up the Economy and enforce the use of mask and gloves till most people develop herd immunity . |

Politics › Re: Sanwo-Olu Flags Off Construction Of Regional Road In Lekki by SarkinYarki: 8:10am On May 31, 2020 |
Another poorly thought out stuff just like the traffic lights on that road ...Instead of building a road that takes traffic of from VGC and dumping it on freedom way which is already suffering congestion and exit issues why not Build a 20 KM Coastal road from Abraham Adesanya Coast all the Way to Oniru , this will take alot of pressure of Lekki Epe as those coming from Ajah and don't have any plans to stop in Lekki can just move all the way to VI... We need better brains in this country |
