"There is no future for Nigeria: northerners are unreasonable and unrealistic"- Ohanaeze Ndigbo. I am amongst the strongest critics of northern hegemony and domination and nothing is happening today that I did not say would happen if Buhari was elected President both in 2015 and 2019. Yet the truth is that we cannot blame everything on the north because southern leaders are their own worse enemies. We are weak, divided, petty, ignorant, gullible, naive, petty and cowardly. Worse of all we behave like crabs in a basket: always pulling one another down and always attempting to eclipse and destroy our own brightest stars. Northern hegemony and northern domination is manifest in every sphere and sector of the Nigerian space only because the ever-grovelling, ever-slavish, ever-quivering, ever-quarreling and ever-snivelling southern leaders, who are so comfortable with betraying and abandoning their own mid-stream, gladly allow it. If we want things to change the first thing that we need to do is to accept the fact that southern unity, southern commanality of purpose, southern fraternity, southern co-operation and southern cohesion and understanding are fundamental pre-requisites to southern emancipation. The secret to the remarkabke success of the north is their wholehearted appreciation of the power of unity and the importance of furthering their collective interest regardless of political party affiliation. This is something that the south appears to be simply incapable of appreciating, achieving or enjoying. We are our own worse enemies. . https://www.facebook.com/62188827209/posts/10157410460992210?s=100000578762760&sfns=mo

Buhari used obj to shine on Abiola Baba obj really missed it He hates Abiola even at death |
former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for honouring MKO Abiola, presumed winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election. The Cable reports that last year, Buhari declared June 12 as Democracy Day and also conferred a post-humous award of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) on Abiola. He also apologised on behalf of the Federal Government to his family for his death in the struggle to reclaim his mandate. The military junta of Ibrahim Babaginda had annulled the 1993 election adjudged as the freest and fairest in the nation’s history. On Wednesday, the President also named the Abuja National Stadium after Abiola. Reacting to this, Fayose, a critic of the President, took to his Twitter account to knock Obasanjo and hail Buhari. “Honouring MKO Abiola by Buhari is to Obasanjo’s shame. It remains a sore-point of his political history that because of ego, Obasanjo, who’s the greatest beneficiary of the June 12, 1993 struggle, failed to honour his kinsman, MKO Abiola. So, I commend President Buhari,” he tweeted. https://punchng.com/abiola-fayose-slams-obasanjo-hails-buhari/ |

NEWSJune 12: How Jonathan reduced MKO Abiola to ‘ethnic champion’ – MomohPublished on June 12, 2019 By Fikayo Olowolagba Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information, on Wednesday accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of reducing the late MKO Abiola to an “ethnic champion.” According to him, Jonathan reduced MKO Abiola by renaming the University of Lagos (UNILAG), which is located in the South-West after him. Momoh said this while commending President Muhammadu Buhari for renaming the National Stadium, Abuja after Abiola He added that former President Olusegun Obasanjo was begged to name the stadium after Abiola when it was built in 2003 but he refused. He told Independent: “I congratulate Nigerians and all of us who have always believed that Abiola was entitled to be remembered and renaming the National Stadium Abuja after him as Moshood Abiola National Stadium is a befitting monument to his memory. The stadium was built during the tenure of Obasanjo in 2003 “There was appeal by Nigerians to Obasanjo to name the stadium after MKO Abiola, but he refused to do it for reasons best known to him “Jonathan on his part had an opportunity to name a monument after Abiola and he did by changing the name of the University of Lagos (UNILAG). “By doing this, he was localising the status of Abiola and in a way, ethnicising it. UNILAG is located in the South-West which is populated by the Yoruba, which is Abiola’s tribe “So, it was inevitable that renaming UNILAG after Abiola will be interpreted as portraying Abiola as an ethnic champion, when as a matter of fact; Abiola won a national or presidential election in which all Nigerians voted. He even defeated Bashir Tofa his opponent in his polling booth.” https://dailypost.ng/2019/06/12/june-12-jonathan-reduced-mko-abiola-ethnic-champion-momoh/ |
