Career › Re: Thinking Of Working In The Bank? My 25 Years Of Experience Will Help You by Sashafm(f): 9:49am On Jan 16, 2017 |
africansunite: Oga olufunso50, 25 years experience in banking? you must be at least on a grade of AGM designate. That's far higher than PS in civil service. And you are on nairalandforum arguing with secondary school pupils, where you get the time sir? A fresh graduate earning 250k and 350k. On what grade will he start? Oga you must talking about CBN cos that salary is for (with the good paying banks) Executive Assistants And Assistant Banking Officer respectfully. BTW as said above, banking is not advisable for a future entrepreneurs. The more you look, the less you see... Yes fresh graduates do earn above 250k in some banks. I joined a new generation bank last year as a fresh graduate through the graduate trainee program. I had no work experience prior to my employment and I earn 260k. |

Car Talk › Re: How Hard Is It To Drive A Manual Car In Lagos by Sashafm(op): 8:50pm On Sep 04, 2016 |
Octaves: Manual takes time and practice to get to a level where it's as easy as driving an automatic. But if you drive consistently, you'll get there. For me, when i'm driving manual, i dont worry about clutch or changing gears, those things happen subconsciously for me. My mind is always else where when i'm driving until an annoying road user or incident brings me back though my eyes are always on the road. That's how easy it is for me. Those talking about car stalling in the middle of the road or rolling back into cars behind you or burning clutch are just poor at driving manual. They are still learning. But if you have extra N2m, you can get the auto. But think of what that money can do for you at these Buhariferous times Thanks a lot, that's what I thought about also. |

ironheart: Buy a manual, its fun to drive and keeps u awake. Its not as bad as it looks. I drive a company truck and its manual. Most of the time you do not have to keep the clutch depressed, learn engine braking and stuffs like that. As a matter of fact this is my 8th month in lagos and i want to tell you that i love it. I am looking to pickup a manual car for myself soon. What a man can do, a woman can do as well. It will only make you smarter on the road compared to lazying ar ;Dound applying makeup in traffic like most ladies with automatic car do. that's quite funny |

GAZZUZZ: I sold my kia rio manual and bought same type and colour automatic because of lagos traffic.
Do not buy a manual car in lagos, you will regret it in the short run. |

nurey: If you buying for pleasure it's worth it, if you buying for price you will regret it. Driving a manual in Lagos traffic isn't easy, you are not only concentrating you are also calculating Clutch, change gear to move quickly depress gear to quickly brake, notice that most traffic hits of bumper to bumper it's mostly manual slamming into others.
Manual breaking record back to back Thanks for the advice. |

peterjero: This is my opinion 1. Manual cars are cheap to maintain 2. Manual cars are interesting to drive 3. You are always in control 4. Fuel economy is always better 5. When battery weak you push to start 6. Same when the kickstarter is bad 7. YOU MAKE YOUR FINAL BUYING DECISION What about the stress of changing gears do you think, it's wise for a lady in Lagos traffic? |
Car Talk › How Hard Is It To Drive A Manual Car In Lagos by Sashafm(op): 12:10pm On Sep 03, 2016 |
I am about to get a car, and the option available to me is to get a manual car which is 2 million lesser or I go for the same car but the automatic version. I am quite concerned because of the price of the car but my colleagues are advising me not to even think about the manual car because of traffic. I am of the opinion that I can learn how to drive the manual car and not get too stressed while driving. Please I need advice from experienced drivers, is driving a manual car that terrible in Lagos? |

Career › Re: Is Working For Access Bank That Bad? by Sashafm(f): 8:57pm On Jan 03, 2016 |
AdeMoss: The mistake most people make is they strive to get a job an not have a career. If a job experience in a bank suit your career path then go for it. I will advice to start a career in a established organisation like Access Bank because you will learn so much a challenge yourself. Max entry level age for entry level in the bank is 24. I don't know many organisations that will employ graduates in their early twenties a pay them that much with responsibilities to make to mature faster. Nice one! This is a wonderful and unbiased reply. Most people just don't want to do anything or perform responsibilities that will make them more knowledgeable . Most people after they leave Access bank become entrepreneurs in the financial services sector, because they have gone through a lot and has payed off at the end. The ball is in your court, if you want to work during your youth and enjoy later in life after extablishing yourself or take on a 50 thousand naira job that gives you too much free time without any career prospects or even savings . |

Fredoh: Sorry for replying your message this late! First of all, I want you to know that what I will share with you is strictly my experience at ACCESS BANK SCHOOL OF BANKING EXCELLENCE and you are at liberty wether or not to use this information for any decision making. To start with, Accessbank training school ruined my life! I have decided to keep quiet about it on Nairaland till somebody talks about it. Let Me Summarize! After they made us look for #2M customers for them. We went to Lagos and did our Medicals on Friday, we were to resume TS on Monday. When we went to TS on Monday we met a woman called Neka, and she was the Almighty in the school- she was the program director! She welcomed us, and ask if anybody's married, obviously nobody! She asked if anybody's is getting married, no body Then she asked me anybody's gonna be a wedding best man, then a girl said her sister is getting married and she's a friend. The woman said "you have to choose between your sister's wedding and this TS. The bottom line is TS is hectic! Officially it's supposed to start 8am and close at 6pm, but I tell you what! There comes a time you will wish to sleep in the school but they don't allow passing the night any longer! The courses are of two types "soft skills and core course" you are expected to keep your all your scores above 65% to remain in the TS and 64.99 is not equal to 65! If you come late the rule says you'll pay 2k, if you skip a day without concrete reason, the rule says you'll be withdrawn! If you skip a gym class the rule says you will be withdrawn! If you score less than 65 in a soft skill, no problem so long as your moving average is above 65! If you score less than 65 in a core course YOU HAVE FAILED THE COURSE and will be given a ONE MORE GRACE TO RESEAT IT, and reseating costs 3k. . . . fast-forwarding . . . You must take a compulsory car "LEASE" ( pls find out the difference between loan and lease) which is kia car. You will be given 43,750 as allowance. Biggest news is that after graduation, the pay is huge. No accommodations for Nigerian trainees. Only for foreign trainees. (Zambia, Ghana etc) . . . after a successful graduation, class toppers may stay at the head office. Class/course toppers may be given a prize for their hard work! . . . Must trainees will be sent to marketing, however, marketing or no marking, the target thing continues. . . . Unfortunately, I became a victim of circumstances and I was withdrawn! As me why! pls I am. just about to make a commitment to Access Bank, l will really like to discuss with you. I will send you a PM pls reply or send me your WhatsApp no. |
Business › How My Friend Stole My Business Plan by Sashafm(op): 11:02pm On Dec 03, 2015 |
I have always been a person that really trust people and very open in all my dealings. I have known my friend Ade (pseudo name), for quite some time now, but we became very close during our service year. We both have dreams of becoming entrepreneurs and owning our businesses someday. We discussed business ideas together and became partners in business . In one of my deep thoughts I stumbled on an idea that if well planed and developed could turn us into the next big thing.I shared my idea with my friend and we suggested ways in which to put my idea into reality. We got another intellectually savvy colleague of ours into our plan and we drew out a well marked business concept. The agreement was to contribute equally to kick start the idea and along the way we get investors to invest in the business. Unknowing to me my friend had another idea entirely, He got together with his siblings and floated our plans on his own.I got to know about it when I visited the website , everything was based on the template we formed together. I felt really disappointed but above all sorry for the kind of person he has allowed himself to become. |
