TV/MoviesMTN Project Fame Day 26 Nomination Show: A Night Of African Classics! by SATMAN(op): 12:21am On Sep 03, 2012
It was a night of high expectations where the contestants pleased everyone with hits from African legends. The night was a dance dance and more dance fiesta. TY Mix who was absent sure missed so much, and Cobhams Asuquo and OnomeOyaide (OAP-Rhythm) had a swell day with the thrills from the contestants. The band-Adrenalin were in top spirit and on top of their game coupled with the fact that almost everyone was clad in beautiful African attires, it was indeed a colourful and African show.

TV/MoviesDstv New Channel Changes: Faqs by SATMAN(op): 2:29pm On Sep 02, 2012
DStv is giving you more channels and revised numbers for some of your favourite channels. Find out what’s new, what will change and what will stay the same below.

Why are the channels numbers changing?
This is in order to create capacity for new channels and future expansion and to make channel navigation more user-friendly. They need to reorganise the DStv platform by moving some channels around to make space for these future channels and services. Whilst it may take some getting used to, they trust that the new channel numbering will make for an overall better navigation and viewing experience on DStv.

When is the change happening?
Early the morning of Monday, 1 October 2012 – most of the new channels will come into effect at 5am WAT. The new M-Net Movie channels will launch from 9:30am WAT on Monday, 1 October 2012.

Will I miss any of my shows when you change the channel numbers?
The changes will happen automatically and shouldn’t interrupt your viewing.

Do DStv customers need to do anything to get the new channel numbers and the new channels?
The changes will happen automatically in the early morning hours of Monday, 1 October. DStv customers are advised to access the information about their specific decoder on DStv.com or press OK on their DStv remote to see if any action is required on their part.
Customers who live in a complex or flat where they don’t have their own dish, will have to request their body corporate to upgrade their system before 1 October 2012.

When will the TV Guides be updated?
The online and mobile TV Guides will update within hours of the change on 1 October.
The TV Guides on the decoders will be updated within hours of the change on 1 October.

Now that the SD and HD channels sit on the same channel number (except for SuperSport channels), what’s the difference between the SD version of a channel and the HD version of the same channel?
The SD and HD channels which sit on the same channel number have exactly the same content. The only difference is the broadcast quality of the channel. The content including the soundtrack, the programme schedules and aspect ratio of the broadcasts will be identical.

In East Africa, do I have access to M Net in HD?
Yes you do. The HD version of M Net (West) moving to channel 101 is available to HD PVR subscribers in East, West and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands

Where do subscribers find more information on the new channels and renumbering?
An extensive communication and marketing plan kicks off from 29 August leading up to the change on 1 October 2012.

Subscribers can find more information at a number of different places: press OK on your remote to access Easy Info, go to www.dstv.com, send us a message on facebook or follow us on twitter (if available in your country), and visit our MultiChoice outlets for a printed copy of the old/new channel listings or access the video on channel 198 for more information.

We will also be issuing letters, decoder messages and smses – ensure subscriber details are up to date so they can receive these. Also watch out for weekly articles in the media, as well as on air promos and adverts.

If you are only making the changes on the 1st October, can we give input into where we would like our channels to sit?
We have spent much time researching the changes and taking our customer feedback into account. This process has been underway for quite some time and the channel numbers are now final.

Music/RadioEldee's Facial Bumps Cause Fight In Hakym The Dream’s Scoobi Doo Remix Video by SATMAN(op): 5:51pm On Oct 27, 2011
THE video shoot of Hakym The Dream’s new video Scoobi Doo that featured rap sensation Eldee and Karen Igho, winner of the last edition of the Big Brother Afcrica show in a cameo appearance may have started gathering ontroversy even before its planned release on November 1. The video is being released on Serengeti Music.

What went down on location of the shoot has pitched music video director, Clarence Peters and Eldee against each other. They reportedly do not see eye to eye anymore after the incident. Everything was fine on that fateful day as revealed by a source present at the location. Karen came very early to set. She arrived at 10am, Eldee was billed to show up by 3pm and when he did, Clarence shot his part quickly because he had said earlier that he was busy with the Hennessy Artistry Show.

Eldee finished his part in two hours and left. Karen who had only done her first few scenes by then began to act up, saying she's has to go because she came early and she “is a star too”, and Clarence was not treating her like one. She consequently took off her costumes and walked off the set but was later persuaded to come back by her friends to finish the shoot.

The Tsunami later came when Clarence was editing the video after the successful shoot. Hakym and his team were pleased with Clarence's work, but Eldee saw the first cut and said he didn't like some part of his verse because according to him, the bumps on his face were too conspicuous. He said he was trying hard to protect his (fine boy) image, so to him, its better Clarence uses only one shot than allow his bumpy jaw to show. He blew his tops saying Clarence should know better as he is a director. “You are supposed to cover it (bumps) with make up or take a less tight shot,” he fumed.

Clarence took him up too accusing the rap star of always picking holes in almost everything and, that he is not supposed to complain because it is not his video. “If the owners of the video are satisfied, then I have no business with Eldee,” he retorted. The director was over heard by a source telling whoever cares to listen that Eldee has other videos where his bumps showed yet he didn't complain. He said he has no power to change Eldee’s skin texture and the rapper should make do with the job as it is, as he cannot use computer to change Eldee's skin and “besides I have just a few shots of Eldee that doesn't have the bumps, he is not going to make my video boring and jeopardize my work because Eldee has bumps,” he fumed.

The source fingered ego as the root cause of this tussle between the two talented young men. He revealed that the duo may have had a run in before the Hakym The Dream’s video as they were exuding so much negative vibes against each other because Clarence vowed never to do any alteration on the video. He was however prevailed upon by friends and he turned the shot that showed Eldee’s bumps into multiple shots to reduce the focus on artiste’s face.

So watch out for Eldee’s bumps in Hakym The Dream’s Scoobi Doo video.

CelebritiesVideo Alert: ‘world’s Sexiest Woman’, Rihanna Premiere’s ‘we Found Love’ by SATMAN(op): 12:14pm On Oct 20, 2011
Recently named the world’s sexiest woman by Esquire magazine, Rihanna shows no sign of tuning down on that sexiness that she’s known for. Her video for ‘We Found Love’, has been interpreted by so many in different ways, from the seeming tribute to drugs, binge drinking, domestic violence and sex, to her wardrobe choice and of course the Chris Brown look- alike who plays the role of ‘troubled lover’ in the video. Last month, it was reported that during the shoot, an Irish farmer enforced a dress code on his wheat field when she undressed into a stars-and-stripes bikini, a red bra, a mesh black top, and finally went topless. Watch the video here on talkmedianigeria.com and let us know what you think.

Celebrities“me, Gay? This Is A Bad Joke”, Says Celebrity Designer Mudi by SATMAN(op): 5:30pm On Oct 13, 2011
FOR accusing Nigeria’s foremost designer, Clement Enajemo, owner of pan African clothing line, Mudi, of homosexuality, the Lagos based designer who designs clothes for artistes, celebrities and powerful people in the society, has concluded plans to take a Lagos based soft sell magazine, Hints, to court.

Mudi’s media company, Media Image Managers, in a statement released in Lagos disclosed of plans by the Delta state born designer to make the magazine pay dearly for what he described as “a gross defamation of a straight, hardworking Nigerian.” The designer’s publicist statement condemned in strong terms the publication by Hints magazine describing it as “not only malicious but the highest attempt at mischief. Mudi is pained about this report which is obvious, an attempt to tarnish his good name and reputation. The puzzle for Mudi and his entire family, friends, clients and associates, is what may be the motive behind this hate campaign.

“Consequently, Mudi has contacted his lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo and the magazine will be taken to court in the next couple of days. This kind of killer journalism should be discouraged by any well meaning person and that is why as a law abiding citizen, Mudi is exploring the legal means to seek redress for this damage done to his person.”

The statement accused the magazine and writer of the false and malicious story of trying to bring down the designer. “African society frowns at homosexuality, and so to accuse a real Urhobo man, a successful and happily married man for that matter, of that social stigma is an attempt to bring him to serious disrepute before the Nigerian society and the world at large. And that is why, Mudi is resolved to see this matter to a logical conclusion to serve as a deterrent to anybody that takes delight in maligning his fellow individual. The magazine has been given seven working days to retract the story, publish full page apologies in national dailies or risk going to court. That is the situation.”

For records purposes, the statement said, “Mudi is not gay, Mudi is happily married, he has never in his life contemplated on being a gay even though he is one who believes every man has the choice to be what he wants to be, but being a gay has never crossed his mind. He has had no relationship with anybody accused of homosexuality either in the past or at the moment, so it beats him that someone just woke up from his sleep and decided to concoct such a wicked lie that could only come from an evil mind, against an innocent man.”
