Accept or reject it, no any correlation between tp and APL. We had a meeting with nnpc today in our office (located in the south south). Authoratively, nothing relates tp and apl. I am currently in ss4 an due for promotion to ss3 by Dec 2019. As Jarus said, CBA has been on President Buhari's table for approval. To tell u more, three states have not met the required number of the slots and most if not all the candidates from those states were paid tp.

What if I lose my job between March 2019 when NNPC advert came out and (say) October 2019 when the recruitment ends?

I have had friends that that happened to. He was affected by an unexpected layoff when oil price crashed in 2015/2016, thank God he was already undergoing recruitment of another company. He resumed 2 weeks after. That experience has taught me to always have one company you are talking to no matter how secure you think your job is. And yes, it's not only NNPC I'm talking to.

By the way, I never said I was sure of rejecting the offer if given. I have always used "likely".

And there are other benefits to me, including polishing my interview taking skills (which will be used for teaching) as someone that co-owns an interview coaching firm.

However, if you have not been alerted with T.P, there is 80% possibility that you are among the successful applicants.

Successful candidates will not be alerted with T.P as same will be paid together with training allowance and mobilization fee at the end of the recruitment training for successful candidates.

for someone that is following the likes of klassd, cliftwood, onunu, c12112 et al... I mean these people are "sauces", so if he/she is following them before now, he may as well have no " sauce"....

I have 11 years oil and gas industry experience myself.

Except those that did it to avoid or escape serious career issue (like bad company practice/culture, unfulfilling career, impending collapse of company etc), most people I know that took pay cut to take a new job did so at very high stage in life. They had already achieved a lot in life, especially financial wise, and their motivation is no longer money. For example, I know someone that resigned as an ED in Stanbic to become DG of NIPC, a government agency. The pay of an ED of a top bank is way higher than that of the DG of a tier-2 government agency. But at that point in her life, she had made enough money, or money had become secondary, she is probably looking for power, preparing for political position or consolidating her network. She can afford pay cut.

But it is more difficult at mid-level stage of career. Some expenses have to go, or be revised downward.

You have school fees to pay, you likely have a project you are working on, you have an annual or bi-annual holiday budget, etc. At such stage in career, most people only live comfortable, not that that they are already well established with deep financial reserves or high yield investments. So it could be a tough choice.

I remember having this discussion with my colleagues - my peers - at work during the NNPC application stage. Most agreed they could take N2m (gross annual) pay cut to join NNPC. From further info I got from friends in NNPC, the gap is even wider than we thought, but I understand they are reviewing their pay (upfront) and it will become effective very soon.

There is no big deal in people rejecting job offers.

this doesn't justify rejecting job offer, when 70% of the job information has been established already before applying. I mean, why apply for a job you've got at least 70% conviction that you'll reject? it's unfair to the recruiter as well as other candidate that'll take the job. Anyway, life itself is unfair.

They don't want it o.... They spent days uploading passport for job post they might likely not take and nnpc no won collect their faces sef, but Las Las nnpc pitied dem manage d small passport. Then most of dem spent money going to the exam hall from different villages and towns to nearest city. Some wake up for 1am to dey prepare for their 10am tests. After tests, they were peeping on nairaland to hear updates for what they don't want o... and finally nnpc says... Come to Abuja o, coman show ur real face.....most borrow money or spend their last cash traveling to Abuja to fight for local men competitive spaces while praying vigorously for their village people to fail so that they can enter.

bn long I made a comment here. had to login in again cus I wanna debunk some wild rumours abt d correlation btwn apl and tfare allowance. just bcus u haven't gotn ur tfare alert doesn't mean u have a higher chance of gettin apl Dan dos dat have already gotten alert. wanna know why? .ok, I went for d interview buh I cldnt do d interview due to some reasons, I was allowed to fill d form for d tfare allowance cus as I was told, everybody that came for d interview is automatically eligible for some forms of refunds on dia tfare. I've not gotn a damn yet and I'm also not expectin any apl as I was not even interview so my chance of gettin apl is on d minus side.

What if it's because there's no score to evaluate before knowing whether to pay you or not, and since you've got no interview score, they decided not to pay you at all... Or, you're one of those "alertees" and you decided to use one of your old alternate monikers to write this.... Or perhaps you're right, who knows...

Like i said, All thing's being equal, this week, APL/SMS Notification should go out to the successfuls.

The recruitment process is fairly transparent, at least 15-30% was finally designated for the common man's ward. lolsss

Should you not receive tfare alert before APL/SMS notification starts falling on people, irrespective of you yourself got APL/SMS notification or not, you're most likely not gonna see that Tfare Alert again (It's common sense, don't ask of my source).

and how many time's will i say, that, i actually coin the farouk/king saga? huh!!! i wonder why people still take it serious and also the AB theory too....

Let's even analyze the thing, about 9k were interviewed,

they've paid applicants within 3weeks now, about 2 days in a week each (1st week was Tues and Wed, 2nd week was Wed and Thurs, and last week was on Wed and Thurs as well)

Assuming they're paying about 1300 applicants in each day, that's 1300 X 6 = 7800

9000- 7800 = 1200...

Who knows, about 1300 might just be the remaining applicants that are yet to be paid.
