It was produced by 2 American companies (Paramount pictures & Mandalay Pictures) and a French company (Reperage Films).

The movie was also based on a book (Enemy at the Gates: The Battle For Stalingrad) by an American Author - William Craig.

It was directed by a Frenchie and featured cast from several countries (England, Germany, American, Russian, French, Romania e.t.c)
