TheWolfen: So why the sudden high inflation rate almost in every part of the world? Take me back to the 90s or better still 80s please! Government pumped money into the economies after the Covid lockdowns to prevent a global depression. Apparently, they over did it. Now a recession is here in a bid to curb inflation. Africa has a majorly import based economy. Hence they import the inflation too. |

But the reality is that the world is facing the bites of inflation....
You can't pump money into the economy after covid and not face it....
Plenty money chasing few goods This happened in developed countries but did same happen in Africa. Maybe the money got pumped into pockets of politicians. Africa's inflation is likely imported since we import almost everything. |

tctrills: So clearly Trump's presidency was great for blacks as unemployment fell even much further than in the Obama times. You did not need blacks in the white house to make this happen. Now let's look at another stat. A more important stat called real household income.
In Trump's 4 years, real household income rose by 6.8% despite the pandemic and the lockdowns. It rose from $66,657 to $71,186.
Under Biden, despite the vaccines, the ending of lockdowns, so many blacks in his government, and trillions added to the economy, families have gotten poorer. Real household income has fallen to $70,784.
To put this into perspective, the 16 years of Bush and Obama combined. Real household income rose from $66,248 to $66,657. Families saw much bigger gains under Trump. So my question is, do you need blacks in the Whitehouse or more money in your pocket? For me, I would take money in my pocket.
I would be happy to compare the economy under any of the so-called black-loving presidents to that of Trump. Still economics. My last post on this thread. There is quantitative tightening under Biden while there was quantitative easing under Trump. When you keep reducing interest rate (to enforce cheap credit) as we saw in the case of trump, the economy will continue to heat up and it becomes an employees market. Employers would offer higher wages to keep or hire people in a tight market, and this will eventually bring about Inflation. Inflation would bite much harder into those increased wages. People will feel poorer even with high wages than they were before the increase in wages. A correction is now taking place. Enjoy the ride if you are American. Picture 1 and 2: sept 2019 before Covid Picture 3: Flushing the economy with more money Picture 4: Enormous amount of money pumped into the economy to create a "mirage" prosperity.

Also, REMAX will layoff 17% of its workforce by Christmas There was a 2nd round of 300 in June of this year for Netflix.. I would have expected ReMax to lay off more than 17% since RE is very sensitive to rates.

This is not the first time it will happen in the USA. Aslong as the State laws allows it, then no big issue. By the time of his death it was too late to change the ballot or put forth another candidate for his seat. DeLuca’s victory has triggered a special election that will be held on a later date. slivertongue: funny! like democrats like APC In 2018, brothel owner Dennis Hof won a seat in the Nevada senate as a Republican despite dying the month before. Unlike in Pennsylvania, however, his victory did not trigger a special election: under Nevada state law, county officials could appoint a Republican to take Hof’s place for the entire term. |

tctrills: You guys always see race in everything. Under Trump, America had the lowest black unemployment in 50 years. Which is more important, a white house with blacks or jobs for blacks? Make your choice. If only economics was that easy. Trump can only fool people that are unintelligent. The unemployment rate had been falling for long before Trump took office, and their declines don't appear to have picked up speed. This implies that there's nothing specific that Trump did to change this rate. These rates (all races inclusive) have been falling relatively steadily since around 2010, early in President Obama's tenure in the White House. The country was just coming out of a recession plus low interest rate environment - quantitative easing - fall in unemployment rate.

I have always followed this thread and we have been hearing from Republicans about how the party will dump Trump if he loses the last presidential election. A particular poster here was very vocal about how he would be dumped.
Well Trump is now obviously a big problem to the majority non-extreme GOP. He is now stuck like a leach on the party. Due to Trump's love for the spotlight and his big ego, I would be shocked if he doesn't announce his intention to run. LMAO. Funny but can't dispute this statement. A good example is Ted Cruz. He has already started with DeSanctimonious. He would drag DeSantis family into it when the time is right just like he did for Ted. |

adamusuleiman1: They all have one thing in common. Who can guess:
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated eight Nigerian Americans on their victory in the United States midterm elections.
In Georgia State, Segun Adeyina (D-House District 110), Gabe Okoye(D-House District 102), Solomon Adesanya (D-House District 43), Tish Naghise (D-House District 68), and Phil Olaleye (D-House District 59) won their legislative seats as State Representatives in their Districts.
Similarly, Carol Kazeem (D) won the Pennsylvania State Representative in District 159 while Esther Agbaje (D-F-L) was re-elected as Minnesota State Representative in District 59B.
Dr Adeoye Owolewa (D) was also re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives (Shadow Representative) in Washington D.C.
Buhari, who prayed for their successful tenure in office, thanked them for their invaluable support and partnerships, over the years, with groups affiliated with the ideals and objectives of Nigerians in Diaspora associations in the United States.
The president also restated his unflinching support for every Nigerian excelling at home and abroad.
According to him, compatriots who succeed in good causes are assets to the nation and the continent, noting that their contributions will always be remembered and celebrated. All Democrats. According to a Nairalander, No great replacement theory on that side.
