The total square meter is 220sqm. All floor, no wall.
Aside tiles, what are the breakdown of other materials quantity?

220m2 wld require.

Sand = 15 tonnes (1 double Tipper is about 15 tonnes)
Cement = 77 bags

When you eventually do the work, let me know what quantity you used.

Smile4mee01:
I'm a single 39yr old Nigeria guy in diaspora trying to settle down and going to Nigeria to marry is not an option.

I'm an introvert who has been through some childhood trauma in my family and really fear marriage because of what I have seen and how bad it can be sometimes.

However, an old female friend and colleague of mine who we worked together in Nigeria and now in canada recently contacted me and she is also single and not had children. She is doing well for herself and now a citizen there while I'm not. A part of me is concerned about

1. Fertility : I desire children. However, can she have me healthy children @ 39. How many can she have? I discussed us trying for a child , she appears to want a.marriage first. But what gurantees do I have to have children.

Should I be concerned? I dont want to enter one chance.

Please I use God beg you, no insults just advice. Abeg. God bless you.

Truth is;
The fact you're asking these questions shows there is no love between you two.

You're in it for something (whatever it is) and she's also probably in it for the change of name.

I personally won't advice it but I'm also not God to know tomorrow.

Lastly: If you go ahead; child or no child; healthy kids or sick kids - you wld be a bad man to turn your back on her and an ingrate.

Please I need your sincere and honest inputs in regards to blogging

Do people actually make easy money on blogging?

Is it something you can advise me to go for?

And what are the challenges faced on blogging?

What are the basic tools needed to hit the ground running?

Thanks

You actually won't JUST make money in blogging because you have great write-ups BUT there is a way people go about it (backdoor but legal) to make money. even if you don't post regularly.

I cant post it here thou.....

Not challenging your knowledge, but Abeokuta is sub divided into basement and sedimentary formations, so it was quite early for you conclude for Abeokuta generally.

Places like ; laderin, woke soyinka forest, oke mosan, lukosi, some selected areas of obada, etc. are not recommendable for air compressed rig drill. But it's possible to execute only that the it would be shallow; less than 60meters in most cases and its prone to collapsing of hole except you opt in for case down, which would still result in limited water supply quantity and quality (mud sediment are very likely to be seen time to time, and you would barely get clear water.(and you would expend more in terms of cost), and also the well & storage tanks would need frequent maintenance.

Thanks for the correction; well appreciated....
My comment might have been because of the areas i'm familiar with.

In Ikorodu, we don't have them, because we hardly experience rock (I guess)

* Install doors sub-frame (sub-frame is not same as frame)
* IF its sliding windows, install the window frames but If casement, don't yet
* Plastering (towards the end, install casement window and buglary)
* External doors and Tiling (make sure all Electrical pipes are not blocked b4 tiling)
* Door frame, ceiling/POP, wiring
* Internal doors
* Painting

Morning everyone. I need your kind inputs.

For wall areas we intend to tile (bathrooms and kitchen), is there a need for those areas to be screeded?

screeding not needed
Plastering is needed (very important) - reason is, shd there be need for a re-work, without plastering, the wall behind wld pull out with the tiles...

screeding refers to POP I believe?

I'll advice that for such delicate work, don't rely on a generic advice, get a structural design/specifications.

Experts in the house...

I need your help. This project is currently ongoing on my behalf. I'm not available physically to see for myself, and the aim is fast completion.

The welder said I will need 3 tons 12mm and 1 ton 16mm alongside some other smaller sizes from foundation to roof stage.

I prefer to have my own idea of prices for these things also. I need a professional who can always help me checkmate prices of any of this. I will pay per contact if that's how it works.

Btw... Who sells iron here. Kindly give me quote per ton for these. Project is in Abeokuta.

I also need a well digger quote (I prefer deep well to borehole), but I'm open to advice on that.

I also need a welder

If we have carpenter for frameworks and roofing carpenter too.

Note: I will compare quotes across 2 or 3 people, and also bring it to elders in the house here.

The plan is to contract these people, even if work never reach them, yet. Make I dey contribute their money for one side.

Sorry for the long post

Afternooon -
Knowing Abeokuta, I'll say go for borehole dug by the heavy machine drillers..... deep well and shallow borehole might fail.

If its Okay, contact me via whatsapp for cost estimate, advice.

Hello all,

Please I drilled a new borehole for my village house.

According to the geologist who did the survey, we'd get water at 65 meters. So I paid him to bring drillers to drill 65m well.

After the whole drilling and installation, and flushing of the well, I noticed that each time I pump the water, the well brings out dirty brown water for like 20 minutes before it starts bringing out clean water.

And the next time I pump the water, it repeats the same way. I have contacted the drilling company and they are not saying anything useful.

Please I will appreciate contributions from experienced people on how to navigate this challenge.

Please @mods, or the mod in charge of this section, kindly help me push this to the front page. I really need opinions.

Thanks.

How long did you flush it for?

You'll need continuous flushing for at least 2 weeks before you can get clean water..... Not just pumping for usage.....

The other problem is if the casing wasn't done properly, it cld also cause this problem

The 3rd problem is if the pump is too close to the bottom of the well.

Solutions
1. Pump and flush for a week or two with little break at interval for the pumping machine to rest.

2. Ask the company if they can add more cases or not (I don't know if that's possible but ask them)

3. Reduce the depth of the pumping machine by removing one length of pipe and see if there's any difference.

This may be or sound out of order but it is good we are aware and careful of sone doors we buy and use in our houses.

Good we watch this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoQgeoja5K0&ab_channel=Chamanskills

Some are not even made as strong as the one shown in this video.

There's actually nothing wrong with these doors...

These are flush doors and it follows the principles of flush doors.

The real issue is when people buy flush doors and use them in place of security or panel doors.

Good day all.

Please when it comes to Nigerian tiles, how do we rate these Nigerian tiles in terms of current quality: Goodwill, CDK or Virony?

Opinions from home owners, building contractors and tile suppliers are welcome.

CDK above others.

Goodwill and Virony depends on choice or quality you pick in the market.

Hello friends,

Happy New year to all.

I have completed roofing of my duplex in Nteje (Anambra State) and now proceeding to both internal and external plastering. Its a seven room duplex (six rooms ensuite) with two lounge rooms (45sqm and 34sqm respectively.)

It also has a kitchen, dining, laundry and ante room). The rooms are mostly around 23 sqm with the master being 32sqm. I have been quoted 1.9million for the plastering workmanship alone. They will also plaster the parapet.

Pls Is this in line with the market rate or not?

Thanks

What's your advice on the best way to pay for project supervisions?

1. In stages/per milestone(eg foundation to DPC, block works to Decking, etc)?
2. As a whole(ie from foundation to end of entire project)?
3. Monthly till project ends?

The best option is NO3, monthly with an agreement of how many days he or she must be on site (or his or her representative)

The second best is Milestone eg Foundation to German Floor, Blockwork

The other option you didn't mention is PER VISIT - this is also necessary if you have experience but need specialist occasionally.. Et you need an electrical expert or a structural expert but they're not needed daily on site.

No2 is not good except its a Big Company and there's a lot of legal documents to spell out everything

People have different fees...
I'm not sure it's the right question to ask.... Discuss with him and reach an agreement...

Won't be the cheapest and definitely won't be the highest any1 has paid.
