6 years ago Omagbemi was a success but since then she has been coaching u14 girls I'm afraid the game has pass her by already many teams in Africa has invested heavily on female football, we should get a renowned coach in Europe with a good credentials

At least she didn't just sit out like that in the US. She's working..

The Randy that is active what did you produce? Failure..

If NFF can't get us a quality Coach with Good cv like that of Morocco, they should better give it back to Florence and co, this people under the African and Nigerian System very well. Again they have played at the highest level, played Pro abroad....

If you have held Omagbemi speak about football once you wouldn't doubt her capabilities... This Ladies are good.

Randy Waldrum Failed.... He has no Business Continuing as falcon Coach...

Let's give the Ex-internationals same room that was given to Randy they will do very well....

Imagine having the likes of Payne, Plumptre, Alozie, Onumonu coming in still yet nothing to show for..

With this Caliber of players Omagbemi and her crew can't fail..

You guys can go and watch the 2016 AWCON Semi Final against South Africa.. The First half and Second half of that game can easily proved to anybody that Florence was a better game reader than Randy.. Her ways of managing game is top notch.

No wonder she didn't agree to Work as Assistant under Randy... She knows her worth..

Late 2020

Hmmm

Randy Waldrum was appointed October 5th 2020

Florence Omagbemi was appointed in February 18th February 2016 and that same year won the AWCON, she didn't play a single international friendly game, just against NWPL Clubside...

While Randy played series of tournaments, ( Turkish Cup, Summer Series, Aisha Buhari Cup)
Played friendly game against top Country.
Had a training Camp in Austria
Had a training camp in Nigeria
Played against NWPL Clubside

How many of this opportunity did Florence Omagbemi and her Coaching crew get??

If this 3 can work together in unity with NFF giving them the needed Support just as they gave to Randy Waldrum, I bet you there's no way the Falcons won't succeed at the big stage... DEDEVBO took the U20 to the World Cup final in 2014, he knows those Crops of players very well..

Florence OMAGBEMI have been there before on a shottime bases with the needed experience after Coaching the girls as Assistant to Edwin Okon at the 2012 U20 FIFA Women's World Cup in Japan where they finished 4th, before leading the team to Victory in Cameroon in 2016 AWCON..

Mercy Akide Udoh a University Coach like Randy Waldrum who's one of the greatest as far as women football is concern in Africa is also doing well in the US with good experience as an ex international, and playing pro in the US years back...

I wonder if you ever saw this??

By the way was it not a University team Florence Omagbemi was coaching in the US before she won the AWCON with the Falcons in 2016?

So because Randy is white now he's better than her?..

I personally went to check her page on several Occasions when Asisat Oshoala won the Award...

By the way there was a Separate Award for CAF inter player of the Year, which Ghanaian Young star Evelyn Badu won.. That award was for players based in Africa as a whole it goes for both male and Female...

This Award is been voted for by the CAF Technically Committee, National Team Coaches and Captains etc ... So is Oparanozie telling us that those that Voted Asisat Oshoala don't know what they're doing??

This War between them has to stop... The two of them are big name as far as Women Football is concerned in Africa, Oparanozie was here before Oshoala even though Oshoala became bigger on the Spotlight...

Probably our players. Maybe that's why it was not announced.

Andile Dlamini won the Golden Gloves, They didn't announce any winner for the Golden Boot, Maybe the winner isn't among the two team present there, so it's definitely going to be Rasheedat Ajibade.

While the WAFCON finals is on going in Morocco, an integral member of the Super Falcons said if the Super Falcons are to do anything meaningful at the world Cup then Randy must be sacked, she also made it clear that Super Falcons in the next 2 years under Randy Waldrum's leadership will be the worse team in Africa.

"Super Falcons in the next 2 years under Randy leadership will be the worse team in Africa, The NFF are so comfortable with Randy, that man is here to destroy this team, we don’t learn anything from training, what ever show we put up on the field is because we’re good individually and we understand the task "

The Falcon also echoed the thoughts of many Nigerians that the American college coach has added nothing to the most successful team in women's football in Africa.
"We have very good players (individually) but no coach to make us a better team" .
The Falcon told me in an exclusive chat. Una say wahala be like wetin again ?

The problem is finishing and defense.

Oshoala, Ajibade, Onumonu or Kanu would have finished at least 1 of the chances Gift Monday was missing.

In defense, the person playing RB didn't close down the winger and the other person playing RW ( I think it was Ordega) didn't track back to help the RB the way Ajibade was always tracking back and defending that wing.

Against Morocco it was the LW that didn't help the LB and the LB ( Ebi ) was too slow to defend against that player.

Then the GoalKeeper made errors against Morocco and Zambia so I think another young Keeper needs to be tested.

In summary,
SF need fast FullBacks on both wings who close down wingers without tackling them in order to prevent red cards.

SF needs another young keeper to keep Nnadozie on her toes.

SF needs to practice outside shots.

SF needs only Kanu, Oshoala, Onumonu to play as CF. Gift Monday finishing is poor hopefully she improves her finishing as she grows older.

Which other Young Goalkeeper do you think we have currently, only Onyinyechi Okeke comes close to contending with Nnadozie and she's taller than Nnadozie but she's still behind Nnadozie in the Pecking order,

Only Veteran Tochukwu Oluehi can challenge Nnadozie very well but she Fumbles when not expected..

This present U20 can't boost of any goalkeeper as good as Nnadozie..

Maybe we should put hope on this Present U17 goalies if not this U20 goalkeepers are far below Nnadozie, Okeke and Rita Akarekor level..

Certainly, her club performance set her High ahead of the rest. Again wining some number of trophies and individual award last season gives her more edge..

Some People think the 3 weeks WAFCON tournament is supposed to decide the award..

BREAKING: Super Falcons Boycott Training Over Unpaid Appearance Allowance

Reports emanating from Morocco in the early hours of Wednesday states that the Super Falcons players have refused a scheduled training session this morning as players were demanding the immediate payment of their appearance fees.

As revealed by a close source, the NFF is understood to have promised to pay allowances at the ongoing WAFCON tournament, but the Falcons are yet to receive the promises.

It is not the first time the Super Falcons and the NFF have clashed over unpaid bonuses and allowances.

Eighteen years ago, the team remained in their hotel in South Africa for three days after the Nigeria FA, as the NFF was then called, failed to pay their bonuses for winning the 2004 African Women’s Championship.

Nigerian teams have frequently been affected by pay disputes with coaches regularly going unpaid and players boycotting training during qualifiers or at tournaments over unpaid bonuses.

The Falcons are scheduled to take on Zambia on Friday at the Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca on Friday in the bronze medal match.

Can someone pls explain the "going for ten" hashtag

It was first contested in 1991, but was not held biennially until 1998. Nigeria is the most successful nation in the tournament's history, having won a record 11 titles, meaning they have won all but two of the previous tournaments.

The major reason they don't include the first two is because it was contested on Home and Away basis then, until in 1998 when a particular Country hosted it....

They were playing it in rounds then, first and second leg including the final game..

First round
Second round
Final round

I'd like to see Kanu start ahead of Ordega on that LW.. We need her pace and dribbling to trouble their defence...

One change i would love to see upfront but experience wise, Randy Waldrum will definitely start Franny Ordega

Excellent analysis. I don't think a high line will work against us. Infact it might set them up for rapid crumbling. grin
As for Ify, I think she should be more involved in build up rather than running behind. Against Cameroon, her lack of pace was so glaring but the moment she joined the build up, she delivered a pinpoint cross that Ajibade scored from.
And I'm afraid Alozie will have to sit this one out..she looks shaky against Cameroon.. But, Ashleigh may not be able to keep up with their winger due to her lack of pace ... A headache for Walldrum grin

Positioning and good reading of the game will definitely help Ashleigh Plumptre out...

This made me remember veteran defender Faith Ikidi Michael whose game reading and positioning abilities made the job easier for her back then when she was playing as a Full Back....!

Morocco coach may have something he can work against us.

The long balls. A high line may be his best bet for this but e go shock am say our wingers would break it.

Next,

Isolation of Onumonu in the heat of attack.

If he plans for this, then they may win in facing her. Funny thing is there are others that they can't stop, especially that wack Morocco defence. Her pace will work to their advantage. Just that when Ify is not attacking, she is setting up attack.

His wingers..... If he wants to use his normal play, the one-two and short passes behind Ucheibe, I'd love to see what that looks like. It's their own true advantage against us in my opinion.

Their wingers have some great crosses in their legs.

Our advantage is ensuring that Chebbak does not have a breather. Either with shots at our goal or control, just like Mothlalo and Refiloe did in our first match. Take out Cheebak and the midfield is fulllly ours.

Then their overconfident Dribbler, Mouady Abi what's her name... Someone need be detailed to that girl. I know Ebi may have experience, but one on one, i can't say who will get upper hand. Not putting high hopes on any of the two.

Uchenna will easily have a field day.

We need a joker. They may be out to get rid of Ajibade. They can try but we need to avoid that thing that once our star player is out, everywhere becomes tense and disoriented.

The vs Cameroun Formation will work for me. But Alozie returns to lineup.

Then, psychologically, they are scared. Not one team have confidence facing us on a norms. Not yet.

That's a big advantage. Thank God naija fans are increasing in numbers in the stadium too. Ginger is needed.

Verdict: #Going for 10. LaDecima, OdiMewa!!

The Superfalcons will definitely play a double Pivotal Midfield of Halimatu Ayinde and Christy Ucheibe... Mouady should be ready to battle with this two because she will definitely pass through the Midfield and Flank which Ucheibe is there to run her down tirelessly..

Again Ngozi Okobi defensive side of her game have improved a lot so we have got this...

If we can cut out their passing Link from the Midfield then we're good to good... Tony Payne is also quick enough to withstand that pressure...

Onome Ebi is going to have it with Rosane Ayani as Ohale will be the Cleaner behind her as she's quicker...
