Amanda Mbadi. Very natural replacement.

Talking about Rita Chikwelu, She’s the only Midfielder in the Superfalcons that can literally play everywhere in the Field except as a Goalkeeper!.. Forward, Midfield and as a Defender..

Remember back in her early days with the Superfalcons, She was an attacking Midfielder before moving to the Central Midfield position then as a Defensive Midfielder.

From 2011 till date her major role for the Superfalcons was the DM…

Christy Ucheibe and Regina Otu are natural DM/Box-to-Box.. The Amanda Mbadi you mentioned is still far behind Ucheibe and Otu in the pecking order… Any day Rita Chikwelu chooses to retire there’s no problem because we already have two aggressive defensive midfielder battling for one spot and Amanda Mbadi who i would pick as their back up for now… then again Abiodun who is coming from the U20…

We really need a Central Midfielder cause Halimatu Ayinde can’t do the job alone, she need a stiff competition…

Ngozi Okobi now has a tough battle facing Ajibade and Payne for one Spot.. This is a Competition i so much love, As it stands Ajibade wouldn’t want to seat on the bench, Okobi would want to reclaim her starting spot and as for Payne Coach Randy would always want to fix her somewhere.!

If Asisat is going to start (and I believe she will), I'll prefer a 4-3-3 formation. It may be difficult switching her to a supporting role offensively especially since she's functions a little differently as the top striker in Barcelona. A third person with them should balance this out.

Asisat Oshoala is the team Star and Ultimate Striker, She's definitely starting alongside Ifeoma Onumonu and Ordega or Kanu...

At top 9 Onumonu and Oshoala will be rotating it as game progress...

I thought Solgado is injured and not going to Morocco.
I like this Nigerian team very much for the nice blend of youth and experience.
Will you go with 442 or 352 considering that SA will target our full backs or try to draw Onome or Ohale out? I'll like to have Ayinde start as the holding DM.

I will prefer they continue with 4-3-3 or the 3-5-2 Considering the Caliber of Center Backs we have, playing Onome in-between Ohale and Plumptre..

Again There's no need playing Ayinde as DM when you already have the Combative duo of Ucheibe and Otu, either of them can do the job very well... Ayinde will have to remain in Central Midfield position where she can easily operate as a double pivotal Midfielder playing Box-to-Box allowing whosoever that is playing the AM have more freedom to do her job..
With the 3-5-2, Tony Payne and Alozie will also benefit well as Wing Backs...
Upfront should have Oshoala and Onumonu with the rest coming in as Substitutes...But this might reduce our attacking threat upfront...

South Africa hasn't greatly improved. They aren't going to surprise anyone anymore. Their gameplay is same. Quick, counter attack to play to Kgatlana. Rafilo Jane as an outlet and Mothlalo as the midfield vision.

Dennerby tactically shut them down in the last Awcon final. Kgatlana didn't see any ball after the first 20 minutes.
In the Aisha Buhari cup, they had Solgado as a 9 to assist Kgatlana and that worked by stretching Onome Ebi. With Ohale coming in, we should tame Kgatlana since there's no Solgado in the team this time.
Our strength will be a solid, balanced team. Our weakness is the right and left back positions. Oshoala finding her scoring book is also key.
If we play a solid 442 or even 352, we will best them very well.
Game changer will be the link between midfield and attack for us. We can use Ajibade there and deploy Toni Payne on the flank.

There's Solgado in the SA team. She's currently their rising star ...

The depth we have no team have it in the AWCON..

Talking about having Fullbacks, We have them
Michelle Alozie isn't a natural Right Back but she gets better with every game she plays..

Again Nicole Payne is an excellent and the fastest full back in the team going forward and back, her only problem right now is her final deliveries( Decision Making) after overlapping. Use the first game against Canada as a case study, she had the chance from her flank down to the Canadian box18 but her final pass was off, if she can work on this I bet she would be a superb full back as she's good playing Left/Right. Her mentor is Alexander Alnord and Lucy Bronze and she plays similarly like them..

As for Glory Ogbonna, I will say she's the weakest link among the full backs..

South Africa can easily be beaten, Cut out all Supplies to Thembi kgatlana you have already reduced them to 60%...

Take over the Midfield from Linda Maserami Mothalo and Rafilo Jane it's done..

This game doesn't need Rita Chikwelu in Midfield, Play Ucheibe, Ayinde and Ajibade or Okobi cause I'm pretty sure Randy will fix Tony Payne elsewhere..

Then bring in Otu for Ucheibe or Ayinde if any of them tire out...

I feel it's going to be a repeat of that last edition were we lose or draw against them in the group stages and then we beat them in the final (that's if they get to the final). Coz for sure falcons will be in the finals.

I don't see the South Africa side beating the Superfalcons.... They have improved yes, but the Superfalcons at the Aisha Buhari Cup last year isn't thesame...

Now we have Osinachi Ohale and Ashleigh Plumptre in defense

Ajibade, Ucheibe, Ayinde, Tony Payne didn't feature in that tournament but the SA team had 100% of their squad at the Aisha Buhari Cup

Upfront they still have Ifeoma Onumonu and a better Oshoala to face, Let's keep our hope high...

Franny Ordega was injured during the Aisha Buhari Cup, we all know how excellent she's if she is in top form...

No need to Panic, it's an open game!

Left center back or right center doesn't really matter a center back is a center back

Even though it's still the Center Back Why fix her on the Right side when you know too well that she's left footed and Ohale Plays the Left Center Back occasionally (2/10 occasions)...

If you looked at the totality and quality of our preparations over the past 12 or so months, it by far exceeds that of ANY other team on the continent.

The pre-tournament preps now should be low impact, which is what Randy is doing now.

No need for friendlies - they are not going to prove anything that he doesn’t already know.

Certainly there's no Friendly game for the Superfalcons prior to the AWCON..

Except there's a late Changes...

All teams are expected to name a minimum of 23 players and maximum of 28players thats with the additional 5 standby players..

Why Okobi-Okeoghene & Imo replaced Oparanozie & Ihezuo in Nigeria’s WAFCON squad

Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and Anam Imo have replaced China based duo of Desire Oparanozie and Chiwendu Ihezuo in Nigeria’s provisional squad for Women’s Africa Cup of Nations next month in Morocco, according to the Nigeria Football Federation on Sunday.

Sweden based duo of Okobi-Okeoghene and Imo were surprise exclusions in Randy Waldrum’s 32-woman provisional squad for the upcoming continent’s showpiece encounters as the Super Falcons eye their record-extending 10th African title.

The Nigeria Football Federation, on Sunday, confirmed it via its official Twitter account saying: “Just In: Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene has been called up to replace Chinwendu Ihezuo and Anam Imo will replace Desire Oparanozie.”

Okobi-Okeoghene’s inclusion calm the nerves of livid Nigerian fans following her impressive form for Eskilstuna, providing two assists and four goals, including consecutive strikes against Orebro and Brommapojkarna wins.

Imo, on her part, makes a return to the squad after earlier dropped for Gift Monday despite her fine form for Pitea, whom she has netted four times in the current Damallsvenskan campaign.

As it stands, Okobi-Okeoghene will be eyeing her sixth consecutive appearance at the African showpiece, while Imo will be hoping to make the final 24-woman squad to realise back-to-back outing following her debut in 2018.

Althrough the Nigeria’s football body and head coach Waldrum are yet to offer the reason behind the latest changes, SavidNews understands the current lockdown to contain the latest Covid-19 outbreak in China barred Wuhan’s Oparanozie and Guangdong Meizhou Hakka’s Ihezuo from making the Morocco trip and will have their spots taken by the Eskilstuna midfielder and the Pitea forward.

Oparanozie’s omission also means she will miss earning her fifth appearance and fourth consecutive outing at the Women’s Afcon, while Ihezuo will not achieve her second stint after 2018 debut.

As for Chinwendu Ihezuo I haven't seen any of her game this season so I can't really say much...

By the way Okobi and Anam ain't bad replacement either..

Two Nigerian Women Referees Listed for Women Nation’s Cup

Again, the ranking of international referees from Nigeria has continued to improve with the Confederation of African Football finding two of the FIFA badged referees in the women category worthy to be among the officiating crew of the Women Nation’s Cup, known as WAFCON.

Latest release from CAF shows that Enugu based Ndidi Amaka Patience Madu and Mimisen Verite Iyorhe of the Benue council are among the women referees in Africa picked for the soccer fiesta.

While Madu who was in Tokyo for last year’s Olympic Games as a referee for the Women’s football has been on FIFA and CAF list for major soccer events of women, Mimisen Iyorhe before now was shortlisted for the coming FIFA U-20 world cup after exploits in other women and men tournaments in Africa.

The Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, wishes the two ambassadors best of luck and journey mercies..

Sorry, I disagree.

That was what some people said when Cameroonian Njoye Adjara Nchout moved to Atletico Madrid Femenino some time ago, Same was said about Thembi kgatlana moving to Atletico, these people tends to hype this players too much thinking it's easy to fit into a Coach pattern.

Rating her 3rd Africa best goal Scorer ahead of some names is an insult... It's your Choice though..

Since you mentioned two Ex-players let me also name the likes of Cynthia Uwak, Genoveva Anonman did you watch them at all?..

She's so skillful. I like skillful players.

Not just about her being Skillful, she's also very quick and Physical. Her kind of striker will be receiving a lot of Kick from here and there from opponents as she play like someone who's robust but she's Lanky...

Her Club Asse Saints Etienne FC were relegated, she still have a contract with them till next season, let's wait and see if she will be moving to another Club..
