Alozie uses both feet's effectively unlike Esther Okoronkwo who's Left footed with a weak right.

Yea. It depends on how the coach sets up though. Gift Monday played more of a midfield role (on the left wing) than she did attack. Didn't like it quite frankly, but understand that's the coach's strategy.

They seem to be doing some recruiting so they may just setup differently next season.

I just hope whatever tactics the Coach going to employs next season is going to favor our players..

How will the Coach set up his attacking line up to accommodate all this players, Monday and Babajide plays mostly from the Left though the 3 of them can play any of the positions upfront though..!

Anyway UDG Tenerife attack will be filled with Pace, Skills and a lot Power, couple with that Ivorian Skillful and smallish winger Koko Ange N'Guessan

I will go with Fransisca Ordega, Asisat Oshoala and Esther Okoronkwo upfront as starters though, bring in Oparanozie and Kanu for both of them in the wing and move Oshoala to the flank for Oparanozie.. Monday Gift and Onumonu can as play a part if need be…

Fransisca Ordega isn’t as bad as we’ve been seeing it, She’s hasn’t sharp as before for the SuperFalcons but right now she looks inform with 5goals and 3 Assists in 11league games in Russia 🇷🇺. Randy will definitely fall back to her in the Absence of Rash on the Left Flank. I will bring in Kanu 2nd half as her fresh pace can cause a lots of havoc for our opponents, draw a foul in front of goal then Oparanozie comes in with her Powerful Strikes.

If you see Yewande and Onyi name in that List just know that they finally agreed to Randy's List, if not Tochukwu Oluehi was literally the one whose spot have been used for their Parol, Since she don do the needful after much intervention, Yewande have to Pay the Price as they have seen it that If for Example Nnadozie injure, Tochukwu Oluehi is a Capable hand.

Being a part of a team is beyond what happens in the pitch. What goes on off the pitch is off same importance. Though Nnadozie is no 1 goal keeper and nothing will change that, Yewande is dialed in to the team's vision and chemistry. She's been more present with the team than Oluehi the last one year. Disrupting that to make room for an NPFL goalkeeper will go more harm than good.

Jesse Lingard was a part of Nottingham Forest's team, but rarely played. He however played a key role in their surviving relegation in the dressing room. Anyone you ask will tell you he was the life of the dressing room. These simple things matter. This is asides the fact that Yewande has obviously earned it more than whoever they want to introduce.

You guys just want me to spill, and if care isn’t taken I will have to call the Man behind Tochukwu Oluehi absence from the team, if not Randy always put her name no matter what, Tochukwu Oluehi have been left out of the team for some time now because of one single person that Called himself Demigod in that NFF, that’s one of the reasons you kept seeing an U20 goalkeeper who isn’t even among the top5 best goalie in her spot..

Predicting the Nigeria SuperFalcons Squad for the 2023 Women's World Cup: Who will make the cut?

The Women's World Cup is now a little more than a month away, and the Squad for the Nigeria women's national team should be announced within the next three weeks.

Those of us trying to forecast the Squad knows this is one of the most unpredictable Squad for the NWNT ahead of a major tournament in some time. As head coach Randy Waldrum said in February after the Revelation Cup in Mexico "We have about 5 to 6 players that are fighting for 2 to 3 spots.’’ Which was one of the reasons he was trying them out in other positions.





There might be some surprises when Randy Waldrum announces his Squad later this month, but here is our Squad prediction for who will represent the NWNT when the Women's World Cup starts in Australia and New Zealand on July 20.

Goalkeepers (3)

•••Chiamaka Nnadozie 22yrs, (Paris FC, FRANCE 🇫🇷)

She is the starter, and nothing will change that unless she's physically unable to play. Despite there being goalkeepers who have arguably performed well too in recent years, Nnadozie combination of youthfulness and her recent reps with the NWNT make it clear she is the No.1. Nnadozie has proved she can deliver in big moments.

•••Tochukwu Oluehi 36yrs (Hakkarigücü Spor, TURKEY 🇹🇷):

During the Summer Series and Last year it seemed like the veteran got a passing look as someone who could push for the starting spot again, but she never could quite state her case and is now solidified as the No. 2 behind Nnadozie.

•••Yewande Balogun 34yrs (AS Saint Etienne, FRANCE 🇫🇷):

Coach Randy seems to have this consistency and reliability in Yewande as one of his Back up goalkeeper. but her familiarity and experience with the SuperFalcons keeps her in the mix as the No.3


Center backs (4)
•••Onome Ebi 40yrs (Free Agent, NIGERIA 🇳🇬)

She's the captain and a confidante of Randy Waldrum and the NFF. Her veteran leadership, experience and temperament mean she will be at this World Cup playing an important role on and mostly off the field. This will be the 40year-old's Sixth World Cup, and she has hinted it would be her last.

•••Osinachi Ohale 31yrs (Deportivo Alavés Gloriosas, SPAIN 🇪🇸)

Ohale's experience as a starter in the SuperFalcons since 2010 WAFCON will be handful for the SuperFalcons. Often described as a "tough tackler" and having a "commanding presence in the air.’’ In addition to her strong physical attributes and aggressive playing style, she is also known for her leadership qualities and passing ability. Ohale’s speed and athleticism, coupled with her understanding of the game, allow her to excel in 1-v-1 situations. we think this will actually be one of the tougher choices for Randy as to who to pair with Ohale as CB.

•••Ashleigh Megan Plumptre 25yrs (Leicester City Women, ENGLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿):

Plumptre has always been solid in the WSL for Leicester City Women, arguably the best ball playing CB in the SuperFalcons, and the 25 year-old seems like a lock already in her position.
Plumptre is physically strong, not the quickest Center Back but has good pace and technique, and she is capable of scoring powerful headers.. Plumptre is a Left-footed centre back, who usually features on the left-hand side of central defence, although she can also play as a Left back. She is gifted with good technique, and an eye for goal, and is an effective set-piece taker.

•••Blessing Demehin 21yrs (Stade de Reims FC, FRANCE 🇫🇷)

In a position that tends to value experience and maturity, 21 year-old Demehin has established herself as a player who should feature prominently in the SuperFalcons future.


Full-backs (3)

•••Michelle Alozie 26yrs (Houston Dash, USA 🇺🇸):

Alozie Speed and versatility remains far too valuable to keep her off this Squad. Alozie can play either full-back position, and she can play pretty much any position other than goalkeeper at this point. Alozie have been Randy first choice at right Back till date and it might make the most sense to keep her there in this go-round, but she can start as a right winger if needed.

•••Rofiat Imuran 18yrs (Stade de Reim, FRANCE 🇫🇷)

With Ogbonna and Nicole, two players who normally play left back ensuring the left is well covered, But now the SuperFalcons have some coverage with a natural and Speedy Left back, and this is where Imuran earns her spot, after double header friendly game against USA, Imuran cemented her spot in the Starting Lineup ahead of Nicole and Glory.

Imuran better at attacking and defending but less experience, including never featuring in a major Senior tournament.

•••Nicole Payne 22yrs (USC Trojans, USA 🇺🇸)
Nicole who can play on the right or left but hasn't had enough time with the SuperFalcons recently after the WAFCON, Nicole has emerged as one of the SuperFalcons regulars at Full Back. She has been compared to the likes of England and Barcelana Lucy Bronze because of their Similar style of play and Physique.She could play on the Left, and indeed Randy has started her there on several occasion’s, even if she plays on the Right side for her club.

How Randy structures his squad is also a question that could dictate some of these toss-up positions, but it doesn't make sense for him to bring both Glory Ogbonna and Nicole Payne to occupy the second-choice spot for the Full Back position as the likes of Tony Payne can slot in when the occasion arises.

Midfielders (6)

•••Ngozi Okobi 29yrs ( Levante Las Planas, Spain 🇪🇸)

She is known for her resilience and prefers playing the coveted "10" role; just behind the striker though she can play in a number of positions including as a Central midfielder winger and right wing-back.

If Okobi is healthy and in form, she's not only on this roster but is a starter. Worryingly, Okobi hasn't started for club or country in recent games.

We have to assume that even if Okobi isn't 100% she will be on that roster given her quality.

•••Halimatu Ayinde 28yrs (FC Rosengard, SWEDEN 🇸🇪)

Ayinde was well known for her Box-2-Box abilities under Edwin Okon and Florence Omagbemi but in recent years she seems to have settled in as a Defensive Midfielder due to her energetic and Her ball-winning, crunch-tackling, attack-stopping ability as a defensive midfielder has been irreplaceable.

•••Christy Ucheibe 22yrs (SL Benfica, PORTUGAL 🇵🇹):

She can do a bit of everything in the midfield, on and off the ball, and she can impact the game in a variety of ways. With Ayinde likely the defensive midfielder and Tony Payne or Echegini the playmaker, Ucheibe will play a more all-around box-to-box role.

Ucheibe is known for her relentless energy and excellent ball-winning abilities as a box-to-box midfielder in the centre of the pitch. This is attributed to her strong positional sense, off the ball movement, and ability to read the game. Predominantly known for her tactical awareness, intelligence, anticipation, and the defensive aspect of her game her ability to tackle and regain possession, intercept passes, and block shots. Former Banyana Banyana striker Amanda Dlamini once said during the WAFCON that Ucheibe is one of those midfielders that gets on the ball so hard especially when ankles and set pieces are concerned.

•••Regina Otu 26yrs (AS Saint Etienne, FRANCE 🇫🇷):

If Ayinde or Ucheibe didn't make the roster due to any form of injuries, Regina would've been the SuperFalcons's starting defensive midfielder as she’s such a Combative Midfielder. But with Ayinde available, it seems Regina will instead be relegated to a backup role.

•••Jennifer Onyi Echegini 22yrs (FSU, USA 🇺🇸):

Given the question marks around Okobi form for some time now, A versatile and highly talented player she plays mainly as an attacking midfielder but can also operate in several other positions and has been used as a winger or second striker at FSU. She has even been deployed in a deeper creative midfield position and on occasion, as a false 9. She is often described by fans as one of the best and most complete modern day advanced playmakers due to her technique, skill, athleticism, work-rate off the ball, vision, crossing accuracy, wide range of passing, and powerful long-range shooting ability with either foot. She can take advantage of spaces in the opposition's defence and subsequently create chances and goalscoring opportunities for herself or her teammates, making her a dangerous offensive threat on counter-attacks… She can play that creative No.10 attacking midfield role with perhaps the finesse of Okobi, as she can certainly be aggressive and dangerous, which is what the SuperFalcons will want.

•••Tony Payne 27yre (Sevilla FC, SPAIN 🇪🇸):

Now this exercise is getting difficult. Tony Payne is a diminutive, elegant, and creative right footed playmaker, with a slender build, who is capable of playing in several attacking, defensive and midfield positions. Throughout her career, she has been fielded in a variety of roles, including as a winger on either flank (although she favours the right side of the pitch), as a central midfielder, as a deep-lying playmaker, as an attacking midfielder, or even as a second striker; she has also been deployed in a false 9 role, or even as wing-back or fullback on occasion. She is mainly known for her technique, acceleration, agility, passing, ball control, vision, creativity, and dribbling skills, as well as her energy and defensive work-rate, which enables her to cover ground, press opponents, and start attacks after winning back possession. Although she is known for her ability to carry the ball forward, run at defences, and retain possession.

Tony gains the edge because of her versatility, making her the most coveted utility player in the SuperFalcons right now. Such players who can offer depth at multiple positions can be vital for a tournament like the World Cup, where sometimes it seems to be less about which team has the best starting 11 and more about which team has the best depth.

Wingers (4)

•••Rasheedat Ajibade 22yrs (Atletico de Madrid Femenino, SPAIN 🇪🇸):

Rash is going to have to carry a big load as a Play maker and a goal scorer. Fortunately, she took a big step forward in the last edition of the WAFCON and Laliga last season, even though she’s not really in good form right now and looks poised to have a breakout tournament.

•••Esther Okoronkwo 26yrs (UDG Tenerife, SPAIN 🇪🇸):

She wouldn't have been a starter for the SuperFalcons if Asisat was to be played from the Flank, but now there's a spot on the wing for her to grab. She's a solid goal scorer and an excellent presser, and her recent form with the National team makes her a choice that Randy might feel more confident in. After returning of ACL injury early February Her good form in the French League 2 right now also bolsters her case.

•••Francisca Ordega 29yrs (CSKA Moscow, RUSSIA 🇷🇺):

She's not going to offer the goal scoring that the other wingers on this roster will but at least not at the international level, where she hasn't had as much goal scoring success compared to her Club exploits. But her passing and ability to set up her teammates offers something different. Randy didn’t play her much in the last edition of the WAFCON and few of the Friendly games.

•••Uchenna Kanu 25yrs (Racing Louisville, USA 🇺🇸):

Uchenitaa as she’s called by her Mexican fans will likely come off the bench. she has come through in the clutch and delivered in enough moments for the SuperFalcons that there's no question she's the substitute you want if you're trying to close out games. Her ability to slice through defenses with her dribbling and her speed makes her an appealing substitute option.

Driving at defenders face-up to goal, holding up the ball back to goal, attacking centrally or from wide areas. Oshoala is a handful for any defenses. And while that means she is sometimes tightly marked out of getting on the scoresheet, she’s positionaly very good, her off-the-ball work opens up scoring opportunities for her teammates but her major problem is she tends to miss a lot of Chances..

What do you do with a player who has been excellent for her club for the past season but comparatively unremarkable for her national team? That's the dilemma Randy finds himself in with Onumonu.

But with Onumonu Starting all most all the games and coming off the bench on few occasions, it seems like Randy would've moved on already if he wasn't convinced.
Onumonu is a well-rounded forward who can as well play any of the positions upfront, she is said to possess almost all the necessary qualities of a traditional number nine height, balance, pace, intelligent movement and proficiency with both feet, SuperFalcons fans are still demanding more and more from her as she hasn’t convinced them yet.

Even if she's not a 90-minute player anymore for the SuperFalcons due to available Options, Oparanozie is a typical centre forward, and can operate as an out-and-out striker. In addition to her goalscoring, Oparanozie is known for her willingness and ability to drop into deeper or wider positions, and either link-up play with midfielders, or use her strength and technical ability to hold up the ball with her back to goal to provide assists for teammates, She’s good in taking Free Kicks and penalty. Her playing style led Nigerian fans to describe her as the BULL.









As pundits and fans argue over starting spots, coaches are the first to say a World Cup Squad isn't about a starting 11 but a full Squad. Playing potentially more than 3games in a four-week period means rotation is necessary, and teams need depth in case of injuries or suspensions. For Randy, he needs to squeeze the maximum amount of depth from 23 spots on the Squad for his preferred 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formations.

I wish FIFA would have postponed making this announcement till, say, 9-7 days to the World Cup. By then, it would be impossible for the FA to manipulate the final squad list in order to benefit from any corrupt shenanigans

Randy was supposed to draw his Squad for the World Cup from the players he used during last games against Haiti and New Zealand..
