The signs were there from the last WAFCON final. When the Super Falcons fell behind against Morocco, the girls showed sheer grit, character and determination to fight their way back and win the trophy.

Unfortunately, many people got carried away by the victory and overlooked the warning signs in the team’s performances.

Winning the WAFCON was a fantastic achievement, but one trophy should not make us blind to legitimate questions about tactics, team structure and coaching decisions.

If we genuinely want the Super Falcons to compete at the highest level, the NFF must be willing to critically assess the coaching setup and ask whether the team is getting the technical leadership it deserves.

Results matter, but performances, tactical identity and long-term development matter too.

For Plumptre and Okeke, it is merely a return.

Having analysed the team's age spread, where we need the biggest "beef up" is in attack (across the entire final third) and the fullback positions. CB role is another coz Ohale is gonna go and we cant have Demehin and Oladipo as the only reliables or a makeshift Ucheibe who is naturally a midfielder.

Truthfully Demehin and Oladipo won’t be the Solution that the CB issue….

The team need at least 2 fresh and solid to come in and should be U25! Not your favorite Sikiratu Isah.

NFF should go for a World Class Coach as Cote’d’ivoire 🇨🇮, Morocco 🇲🇦 and Ghana 🇬🇭 have done…

If they can’t, the likes of Florence Omagbemi 🇺🇸, Mercy Akide Udoh 🇺🇸, Nkiru Okosieme 🇺🇸, Ayisat Yusuf 🇫🇮, Perpetua Nkwocha 🇸🇪 are there… They can pick a team of 3 among them to work together and i believe they will do great.

But again all of them are Youth team coaches abroad.. with Omagbemi been the most experienced one after serving as the SuperFalconets assistant Coach were the team finished 4th in Japan 2012 with players like Oshoala, Ordega, Oparanozie, Okobi, Esther Sunday, Orji, Josephine Chukwunonye, Osas Igbinovia etc..

Then heading the SuperFalcons in 2016 before she was let go for Challenging the NFF..

On a serious note, I think at least one of our ex Falcons should catch one of the National teams. Omagbemi did well as coach but was fired unjustly for non footballing reasons. Same way SA brought out Ellis, we should develop ours too.

I don’t see someone like Omagbemi returning or even Mercy Akide, Nkiru Okosieme, Ayisat Yusuf getting the job because these 🇺🇸 based ladies won’t tolerate the NFF Bad habits as the likes of Madugu do..

Now I'm well aware that it's very easy to try draw a straight line between the Super Falcons and Super Eagles given that both team actually do possess immense talent. However, it's also ridiculously easy to completely ignore relative talent density across the continent.

Indeed, when it comes to the girls, the Super Falcons possess hands-down the best players in Africa across every single position, from the frontline down to the defense. Their individual dominance over continental peers is total and absolute. What you guys don't understand though is that when it comes to the boys, the Super Eagles simply do not enjoy that same relative margin. Yes, our frontline of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman can certainly be argued as the best in Africa, but even that little department faces stiff competition from the attacking powerhouses of Egypt and Senegal for instance. You may believe they don't measure up, but no intelligent football analyst writes them off. More critically, across the midfield and defense, Nigeria over the past 3–4 years has been second fiddle to the structural depth and quality of Senegal, Morocco, and Ivory Coast, to name a few. Granted, our defense has gotten particularly strong since Eric Chelle got involved, but that remains a work in progress. You cannot equate the Falcons’ total individual talent monopoly in Africa with the Eagles competing in a far more balanced continental pool.

It is a textbook false equivalence.

Imagine someone bringing in such comparisons, teams like Ivory Coast, Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt do

But we can’t say that for their Women’s side that only have at most 5 good enough players then the rest average at best,,.

The Glory Ogbonna, Sikiratu Isah and Folashade will certainly get good game times with other Africa Countries and Infact be their key players but here in the SuperFalcons we see them as players who ain’t supposed to be there… Why because we know we have more than enough players..

Imagine the SuperFalcons defense that was difficult to break down conceding cheap goals in the WAFCON…

I wonder how some people here compare WAFCON teams with Brazil, Spain and Japan that Randy faced at the Olympics…

Let’s make it make sense, Madugu have ruined the team and they’re blinded by he won the WAFCON.. At the Olympics Ashleigh wasn’t available but the defense and the team in general was still very compact..

After Spain, Japan have the next best Midfield and the Falcons opened up more trying to get goals as well to see if they could get the best loser spot which made them lose 3-1..

Or someone here want to tell me that USA, England or the Netherlands currently have better midfielders than Japanese?

I won’t pick Norah though but she’s a possession-based coach, and Nigeria have the quality and technical profiles to execute her philosophy. Zambia, on the other hand, may be better suited to Madugu’s more direct and dynamic style.

Madugu loyalist won’t see that Nora is clearly a good Coach but doesn’t have the talents.. Banda, RK alone can’t do it for Zambia 🇿🇲. She could have reached the final or won the WAFCON with Ghana easily If she had stayed with them..

Look at Morocco 🇲🇦 and Cote’d’ivoire 🇨🇮 you can clearly see that those two teams are well coached but still doesn’t have the quality of players Nigeria 🇳🇬 have…

Imagine having a player like Rash, Joe who plays for PSG in your team, there’s Uchiebe who recently left Benfica, Abiodun from Washington Spirits and veteran Ayinde who plays for the best team in Sweden.. Babajide & Oladipo plays for AS Roma..
