budaatum: I have specifically selected this because.....
Are you saying USA is not already part of the current world order that accepts the US dollar as global currency, and they now want to be part of it?
Or do are you seeing dump's USA drowning out of the new world order that is excluding it, and are now fighting for survival in the new world order that seems to be reducing USA's influence? Everyone knows the world order since 1945 is coming to an end. Things are very fluid and power is dynamic. Every indication has shown that there are new power blocs outside Europe and Europe is losing influence both culturally, political and economic hence need for... |

budaatum: Scholes007, I am Nigerian, and I don't really care if the entire world is destroyed if Nigeria develops like China has developed, because no Gods wrote sufferhead on my Nigerian head! Imagine, minimum wage is £36.82 (₦70k) a month! Am I a slave?
But seriously, China is not destroying others. China needs those others to not be destroyed so they can buy what China manufactures or China will destroy China.
And yes, other countries have to protect their country from questionable trade practices. I do however have no sympathy for countries that did not question their own trade practices when they were practicing them on others but are now questioning when their trade practices are practiced on them. No sympathy at all for such hypocrisy! China has destroyed many industries all over the world. Unless you just intend to put a blind eye it or play ostrich. Example if Nigeria intends to produce, she must protect her industry from Chinese trade dumping. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: For Those Hating On US. Would You Prefer China As World Power? by Scholes007(m): 3:39pm On Feb 03 |
budaatum: On this! I don't understand how you can "understand your defunct dislike to anything USA".
Defunct itself means, "no longer existing or functioning". So are you saying you understand my no longer existing or functioning dislike to anything USA because you now assume I like everything about USA?
Please know and understand that there are things that I do still dislike about USA that are not defunct at all, and top of that list is dump, whom I so still dislike you'd note I don't even write his name. And there are many many things I do still like about USA like their elections every 4 years and my darling Denzel W.
I'm explaining this to you because it bothers me a little that you would understand a dislike that is defunct according to you, and that never even existed in the first place, because it's like a lense through which you would read what I say that will distort your understanding. I'm not anti China but anti communism. When we look closely to history, we will be glad with the current rule based order as lead by the USA. Europe peace is maintained by influence. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: For Those Hating On US. Would You Prefer China As World Power? by Scholes007(m): 3:18pm On Feb 03 |
budaatum: China do not need to be top superpower to influence your leadership neither. Canada's Carney and UK's Starmer just traveled there to be influenced. And I hear even USA's dump will be going there soon too. Those who elected those leaders however, did not go with their leadership to China, and they might not be so easily influenced, is what you are failing to consider.
Think of it this way. Imagine Nigeria has a leader who is influenced by China but most Nigerians reason anti-China like you do than like I do, and then Nigeria has an election. Would my Chinese influenced leader be the leader of Nigeria, or your non-Chinese influenced leader? Geo politics is a very complex discussion and it will be very unwise to over simplify these things. China is a very huge market hence every nation will want a deal. Canada can make deals with China but she will be very careful not make deals that will after it's relationship with the USA. Most of these current deals are just posturing by some western nations to challenge some of Donald Trump's policies. But in the grand scheme of things, there is a new world order that the US wants to be part of. I would be glad if we discussed more on geo politics |
Foreign Affairs › Re: For Those Hating On US. Would You Prefer China As World Power? by Scholes007(m): 2:44pm On Feb 03 |
budaatum: You see that your "maybe"? You can't imagine how much it makes me respect you, because maybe not.
China is growing. They currently manufacture more than about the next six top manufacturing countries combined. So, we may be about to find out if they will enforce their will or not. But personally, I want Nigeria to be the top world superpower, because I don't we will impose our will on any country. China's Industrial prowess is without doubt unquestionably. But their trade practices has been questionable. Countries has to protect its market because of these practices. Without the western rules based order as lead by the USA, china wouldn't achieve those success. Remember there has been dispute within the WTO because of these practices like dumping and subsidization which in turn affects other countries industrial capacity. I understand your appreciation for the quick development of china but her development should not be used to destroy others. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: For Those Hating On US. Would You Prefer China As World Power? by Scholes007(m): 10:05am On Feb 02 |
budaatum: Really? Ordinary make Nigeria a Muslim country and Nigerians are checking and balancing, so why wouldn't we check and balance China if they try to make you Chinese?
I have full faith and trust in you checking and balancing China because this is not 1851 and because you are no mumu. These things are beyond sentiments. China do not need to make you Chinese to influence your leadership. I understand your defunct dislike to anything USA , but the reality is what we are talking about. The truth is,if China achieve hegemony to the current status of USA, then they will need to enforce their will which maybe worse than the current USA influence. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: For Those Hating On US. Would You Prefer China As World Power? by Scholes007(m): 10:15pm On Feb 01 |
budaatum: Actually, yes, I would prefer China as new world power over USA for the simple fact that China is not insisting that other nations adopt the Chinese political philosophy or religion like USA is doing.
Wouldn't you? And if not, why? That will never happen. Immediately china gets to that point, then they will need hard and soft power to maintain that status. Unfortunately China has little to no checks and balances with their leadership |

The west must re-strategize theirselves. They have been too comfortable that they have become soo soo weak. Canada and Europe have been the architect of the controlled decline of the Western civilization. Thank the stars that the USA still exist else there will be no west in next 2 decades. No matter how unorthodox Trump might be, he will be the foundation of the west in the new world order. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump's "Board Of Peace" Signing Ceremony Holds Today At Davos by Scholes007(m): 4:57am On Jan 23 |
People really underestimate this man trump, but this is a seismic shift at global scale. Certainly she will challenge UN on conflict resolution hence eroding the importance of EU on global scale if the board survives Trump era and possibly another GOP era. It's a very intensional move out of globalism and more to regionalism and great powers resolution. Trump masks his intention with his personal statements and attacks but his strategy is very consistent which is a new world order where US importance is seen not contained and controlled. |

You want Nobel prize for attacking a sovereign nation.
What is happening now shows white people are manipulators.
If this was China Europe would have sent war ships and bomber jets since.
Fifa would have banned China from their satanic worship
And a host of other sanctions.
But now Europe is caught in their Web of deceit. So they are looking for soft landing
Their God the United States of America have gone rogue and they have forgotten how to place sanctions. On dictators.
But time will tell. Pray next president doesn't follow his plans. If not good bye UN. |

Putindbutt: All these less than 2km roads with 2billion per km. You want me to show you long roads built by Gov Mbah or Gov Nwifuru?. Long roads built by Soludo or Uzodima?.
Not these shorter roads he's using to steal state's money. Roads that normally should be built by Local government chairmen. This is a very stupid and unnecessary attack on a person because of party politics. Otti has done very well to my state. I'm privileged to witness all 4 leaders, I wouldn't say Dr.Orji Uzo kalu didn't try, at least he was above average considering the issue he had with the then president Obasanjo. T.A orji was the beginning of failure with his clannish shortsighted politics. Ikpeazu was just Governor missed road and Alex has made Abia return to at least above average leadership. This kind of politics will eroded the sentiments APC has in Abia state especially for the president. Keep it up and see how it turns out. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: UN Secretary-General Regrets US Decision To Quit International Organisations by Scholes007(m): 1:45pm On Jan 09 |
Flets: I pity whoever takes over from Trump as US president, a lot of these moves have lasting implications.
Trump is keen on taking away all the leverages the US built over her allies for decades.
To the folks who don’t understand what’s at stake, do you truly believe that the US presidents that have sustained these alliances for decades were all stupid?
America has lost all her soft power under Trump, the remaining military might will be vulnerable without trusted allies This particular move is a very strategic move. No American leader democrat and Republicans alike will return to old normal. For many years now UN has increasingly been anti American and west. |

Even if weak Maduro is responsible for all this, is it right to capture another countries leader that way. Its just comical, find stupid charges, then attack. Its always with the weaker countries. We all know its because of the oil and asset nationalisation of oil asset. This is a bad precedent. Venezuela is not weak . But every country compared to the US is weak. |

aswani: Whilst I agree the very erudite DomPerignon is not doing right to target the thread at SE and didn't really didn't need to do it, all of this is IMHO pushback against Obidients targeting Ala Yoruba with nonsense because Peter Obi lost to President Tinubu.
Be part of those stopping the problem at source, when you see Obidients typing blatant lies against ala Yoruba, call it out. That way we wouldn't need to have threads like this. It's understandable but I thought Obidient movement was a national political movement. Besides I'm not in any political movement unless a case that is directly affecting SE or Igbo group. I must commend Nairaland moderators for their efforts in containing Igbophobia which almost eroded the value of the forum in recent years. With that said, I don't see any reason why a national discuss should target a specific group of people just because it's convenient. If you feel Obidient movement targets Yoruba as a group, and you made your case, every reasonable person will Identify with you. I believe the moderators of the forum will as well identify that and take actions. |

Direct your anger and jealous towards them and stop crying here Correct I'm not from from Delta state, neither am I from Delta north or Igbo community in Edo state. Secondly I'm not jealous of anyone or group. I doubt there is anything to be jealous of, unless you can remind me of what to be jealous of. Just one good thing. You would find that there is none.

And it will remain anioma-owned till the end of time.
The real question is, what exactly do you have to contribute to anioma, apart from clannishness and insecurity? Despite outnumbering the anioma nation atleast 10:1, you can't even boast of a world class multinational organization.
What do you want to give anioma that we don't already have, or are not capable of creating on our own? What your point exactly? You think Anioma people are superior to say Ngwa people or wawa people. I don't understand? |

oyichi: thanks, time shall tell, continue wasting your opportunity Hello, State creation is not an emotional service, state will be created for south east because the leadership is serious about it. This is one of president Tinubu Legacy. Anioma State will be created but if it fails then we have Adada or Anim state. My personal sentiment have been to ignore any south south Igbo group because of identity crisis but logic will always prevail. Anioma State is more profitable to Igbo people in Delta state and South East at large but a state inside current South East will bring more developments to our people. |
