I can see one or two monikers have already done today's sanitation. grin
Let me observe this particular episode.

eby001:
You just add another twist, I'm done with this argument.
Did you understand what I stated? There is an avenue to counter it so others can learn if you think my statement is wrong.

A lot of the midrange to lower end phones fitted with type C ports are limited to the 2.0 speed and functions. What does this imply? It implies that it is just the physical part of the port that is different but the speed and functions are similar to micro USB 2.0 speed.

A check on sites like Gsmarena will show you things like: "2.0, type c 1.0 reversible connector"

The "2.0" means similar speed and functions to Micro USB 2.0.

Note: the 18W feature or any fast charge feature at all is not a universal feature on all phones with type C. Some have type C but lack fast charge feature.

I won't be dropping replies on this episode after this, but be ready to be called out when you make another ridiculous statement.
I go dey wait you cool
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 8:34pm On Dec 14, 2019
If calling you out for making a ridiculous statement is rude then you are on a long thing on this thread.

Most of your replies have been curses and It begs the question of how old you truly are.

I can't imagine how an adult will come online and start cursing and making threats on a faceless forum all in the name of I own a device and nobody can correct me when I make a wrong statement on such device.

I don't expect you to reply in a Civil manner but I hope you fix up real fast.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 8:17pm On Dec 14, 2019
eby001:
That's the point, you don't get it, you can't compare type b to c.
And when you factor cable and connector, what did you get?
I am only quoting you to correct the misconception here. The type C port on the redmi 8 and redmi 8a are limited to the 2.0 speed and functions.
Even with the 18W quick charge feature it doesn't magically make the charging speed faster than a micro USB 2.0 port when the charger head plugged to the device in question is still 10W rated.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 2:45pm On Dec 14, 2019
Some of you are holding timebombs. You know the capacity of your newly bought device and it is getting charged fully in ridiculous record time and you think it is a good thing. Continue oo! Na here we go dey when Samsung Note 7 fiasco go visit una grin
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 2:35pm On Dec 14, 2019
@eby001 so If I made a claim that my Redmi Note 4 charges from 0 - 100% in less than 1 hr with my follow come 10W charger, you will just accept it's a unique experience thing and I shouldn't be questioned? undecided

I don't know what you're driving at, but kindly provide an evidence that shows a 5000mAh battery getting charged from 0-100% in less than 2hrs with a 10W Charger and I will hold my peace.

Unique experience ko unified experience ni.
Shebi all of us for here na dunce wey no sabi anything.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 2:28pm On Dec 14, 2019
eby001:
Your statement is however contradictory. Init, someone made a personal claims in which users experience are unique, but you totally refute it. Haaa!
So you are okay with a person making a personal statement that is a balant lie? undecided
You are actually telling me a 5000mAh battery can charge from 0-100% in less than 2 hrs with a 10W charger?

Am I the only one seeing the lie in that?

This ain't about unique experience, this is about making statements that can be proved.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 2:11pm On Dec 14, 2019
eby001:
Not absolutely right, I used redmi7 with follow-come 10w charge, and it charged my phone to from 0-100 with it switched on in less than 2hrs for a 4kmah battery. Also, it select charger, my Samsung charge cannot power it but I have an infinix charger that also pretty good with my phone.
If you check my statement, you will see I gave caveats. I didn't make an absolute statement. There are different reasons charge time might vary at times.
However, it doesn't mean a 5000mAh battery will charge from 0-100% in less than 2 hrs with a 10W charger. This is just not possible.

There is a large difference between charging from 10-100% and 0-100%. Additionally, the charging speed will reduce considerably when it reaches 90%. Might get as low as 300mA at this stage.

And a 5000mAh battery is different from a 4000mAh battery.

Take a screenshot when you start charging, another screenshot @ 50% then finally another screenshot when you hit 100%. See its quite easy to provide evidence.

Come to think of it, I didn't intitially know it was "Bode thomas" the lady was repeating on that song. I was now forced to ask how it related to the song? undecided

My brother it is time for you to rest, we've had enough nonsense on the thread for the day.
Bode Thomas? undecided Seriously? grin grin

You are just behaving like a rabid dog that will be put down in the twinkle of an eye.

Why are you so worked up? Is everything fine at home? Kindly take care of yourself cos we need you to make more fallacious statements that we can tackle and use to educate others willing to learn.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 10:51am On Dec 14, 2019
If owning a device suddenly transform you to an authority over all the issues pertaining to such device, why then are you on the net seeking and asking for solutions to issues pertaining to such device? :-
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 10:47am On Dec 14, 2019
There is no need quoting a character that have sort to ridicule himself.
Bring an evidence of your claim or forever hold your peace.
You own a phone doesn't mean you know how it works.
Like I stated earlier, drop your pride and learn.

Nna eeh, some people sef, someone said this is how my phone works and you want to kill him for what he has practically done and confirm?
abeg make una comot for road make see better comments.
So we should let every tom, dick and harry make fallacious claims about specific devices because they own the devices in question.

We have an adage in Yourbaland which goes thus: Àgbà kín wà lọ́jà kórí omotuntun wọ́

Direct translation: Elders can't be in the market and the head of a new born baby will bend.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 10:37am On Dec 14, 2019
If you own a Redmi 8 and it takes considerably way less than 2 hrs 50 mins or thereabout to charge your phone from 0 - 100% using the follow come 10W charger in the box, then your phone's battery might be faulty.

Even an 18W quick charge will not charge your Redmi 8 less than 2 hrs from 0 - 100%.

If you find anything contrary to what I stated engage me and state your case and we might both learn something new in process.

A quick search on Youtube will bring up several video reviews of Charging test of Redmi 8. Don't let anybody mislead you.

bro we are going to end up damaging this thread on ur stupiid attitude.. How do u want factual evidence on charging.. Are u dumb or playing dumb? U are rude and I don't care abt ur age but there's respect in presentation.. U can can't defend ur point with respect them u are truly dumb..

Am using redmi.. My claims are my claims u don't need to be happy with it
No need to pretend you care about the thread after you were so fast to rubbish it and recommend Google. Do you even know how Google works? Is the same Google not going to end up bringing up some Nairaland pages?

Coming to your factual evidence on Charging, I am forced to question your knowledge on Google once again here. A person that understands how it works should know all it takes is to type in specific keywords to get related web articles, youtube videos, Images and a lot more.
Well, your limited knowledge on Tech won't let you know that.

When you are ready to learn you will drop your elevated shoulder pads and learn from people more knowledgeable than you.

I know u will be cursed soon continue..
I expected you to show factual evidences of your claims. But No! Like your usual self you go all out defensive on a device you ain't the only one that owns. To crown it all, you go about it in a distasteful manner.

If any newbie should be weary of monikers on here, it should start with yours. Why? You state a lot of statements that lacks technical facts.

How curse take enter the discussion? undecided
With all due respect, I don't know how old you are but you need to fix up real fast.

I accept you are so good that u own a tech company.. Nairalanders with stupid ideology.. Because u own a xiaomi phone means u have the knowledge of the world..ogbeni wake ur brain up
I don't have to own a tech company before I put people with stinky mentality like yours in their rightful place.
Even Seun that owns Nairaland will cringe at your self entitled ignorant mindset.

some of u are have this cray self entitlement about everything.. As long as I don't beg anyone of you money to buy my device then u need to shut up when u ain't happy with my view

If u like own Xiaomi company Ko ka mi
Na small pikin dey reason like this. If people helping others with their issues on here have to own the device before they can be taken seriously, do you think this thread will be this popular?

Must a phone technician own your Redmi 8 before he can help you repair it? undecided

ogbeni let others who use same phone talk not you... Because u read it somewhere doesn't mean u know the device... As long as u don't use redmi 8 ur knowledge is limited
Your knowledge in tech will remain limited with this kind of mindset if you don't change it.

I no dey put mouth for redmi 8 matter again.
He has started to sound like a broken radio. Ever since he got that his Redmi 8, na like some of us never use Xiaomi phone before.

He makes a lot of ridiculous statements all in the name of "Na me sha dey use my device."

ogbeni am using a Redmi 8.. Pls say what u know dude...

Don't analyse what u don't own
And here we go again with the "don't talk about what you don't own" Sir, I don't need to own a redmi 8 before I understand how it works.
I don't need to own a Mi9 before I know it is faster than a Mi9T. Why? Because a lot of technical written and video reviews from seasoned tech reviewers are out there on the net.

Kindly refrain from making fallacious statements like this all in the name of I use a device and others don't use it.
Na only you dey use Redmi 8? undecided

well you may be right tho... My battery is 5k and I get full battery less than 2hrs with 10w charger.. That's why I said slow... Concept of quick charge is paper talks.. Am talking of firsthand review
Even an 18W charger will struggle to fill up a 5000mAh battery in 2hrs and you are claiming "your" Redmi 8 with 5000mAh battery gets filled up less than 2hrs with a 10W charger.
That ain't possible here on earth and any other planet sir.
