Somehow I doubt the call or message was from MTN. I believe it was one of their workers planning to scam you at the time. Some of their workers have friends who are scammers. The workers occasionally pass client phone numbers to these low lives in the hope that they get a share from a successful scam.

It depends on what you smoke. Cigarettes have no psychotic effect and are socially acceptable.
