George Michael provided the real cover for gays in the 1990s. He was an inspiration to the first set of gays of my generation. A culture which this generation has embraced with rapacious intensity.
Now that he is gone, his brilliant singing career will always be colored by his sexual preferences, sadly.

I know this guy will make Nigeria proud one day. I was with him in 2004 when we represented Ogun State in National sports Festival. I played in the open category and he played in the master category and teamOgun won bronze medal that year. His brother too(Tayo Saidu) is also a guru in the game. Ayo in case you are reading, this is Soggier (Femi). congrats.
Spot on.

He did this in some gut wrenching manner .
Playing some terrific words along
BiLINGUAl was a beautiful find through double Ls.
Ayo had to wait for Nderitu Kitonga, Kenyan, to hand him the win.
He played a nonword GUTCHES which Ayo challenged off the board.
Nigerians on social media went berserk when the favour was done to us.
Memes and wisecracks followed the episode and a huge relieve to everyone .
TERAGLIN, x9, was the icing on a beautiful weekend of pure Scrabble genius.

Ayo came 3rd earlier in the month in Causeway Challenge in Malaysia. This is the toughest competition on earth.

Nigeria was the over best performing Nation in the same competition.
Stand up for SCRABBLE.

Thank Comshot.

I bought SONY because I thought they had a solid repuation for quality.
I wanted a ohone I could trust to serve me.
This Xperia is actually an hysteria.

I want to walk away.
All I am begging SONY to do is just to free me.
Seeing the phone pack and receipt irritate me.
The attitude of their sales rep is utterly disgusting.

I want out. SONY free me please. 72k in this recession will not have equal value, but hey, it is still my dough.
Henceforth, I have learnt my lesson. HTC and Samsung only. no more jumping about product lines
PhonesSave Me From Sony by SCRABBLEBOARD(op): 9:46am On Oct 18, 2016
It seems if I didn't speak out I will never get redress on this issue of my misplaced trust in buying a Sony product .
Having exhausted all avenues for a kinder resolution and not making any significant headway, I'm forced to take my case to the public of consumers who may be suffering in silence and who may only hope and pray that solutions will drop from the sky on their case.
None will drop. Speak up please.
I bought a Sony Xperia C4 Dual from a Sony dealer agent, Dallas Communication Ltd, Computer Village, Ikeja on 20th May, 2016.
I used the phone for a week plus when I noticed that the cursor kept skirting about.
I could type the smallest of all things. The keypad was a jumble of mess.
Where I got the patience not to have smashed the phone could only be from heaven. It was that annoying.
After following Sony's instructions in such matters and receiving no succor, I took the phone back to the same Sony agent that sold me the phone.
Soon as I handed the phone over, she immediately confirmed that I was the 3 person reporting the same issue about the same phone all within days of purchase of the phone.
She collected the phone and submitted it at Sony's repair center in the same Ikeja. This happened in July, 2016.
I got no replacement phone, I got nothing. I was told to come back in 2 weeks time to collect my phone.
2 weeks has crawled into October, I do not have my phone.
I do not have my 72,000 money back.
I have nothing but empty promises from one Iffeanyi, Sony's sales representative.
I have called and called and have gotten tired of misses calls, unreplied messages, user busys, empty promises, that's when he ever gets to answer.
On one single occasion he called, I offered to but buy a higher version of Sony phone . He should work the cost out and let me move on.
Even that wouldn't move him.
As I welcome November, please, Sony, save me.
Nigerians , deliver me. Nigeria Communication Commission please intervene, Customers Protection Agency get involved.
I have waited long enough.

Look out for a Scrabble club to join. Almost all states have at least one. There are a couple in and around Lagos. Ogun and Delta states have a few too, as well as the FCT. But largely depending on your location.

Better luck next time.

...o, and next time, my advice to the team is open your eyes. Since you guys have won once, and such a big deal has been made about it, Oyibos will find all sorts of means of ensuring you don't win again. So when next you go to these venues, be paranoid, make sure you look out for hidden, whatever means are known to facilitate the unfair winning of scrabble games. Don't forget under the table, the ceiling etc wining is is serious business especially wherever there is a whiff of racial or ethnic superiority at stake grin
Thanks but no thanks.

It is not a total loss.

Nigeria won the World Scrabble Championship at the same competition.

Mr. Jack Mpakaboari clinched the Section B category by beating Sandy of the USA 3 nil at the same MSI competition.

Mr. Kekeregor placed 11 in the Masters category which was Nigeria's best standing .

Paul ETA was 47th.

UK's Brett Smitheran was the prestigious MSI WORLDS SCRABBLE CHAMPIONSHIP beating Mark Nyman , a past World Champion, 3 nil in the epic final.

His word BRACONID gave bum the championship.

GYNAECIA, PERIAGUA, ZORINOS are other lovelies Brett played En route this famous victory .

It was a pity Nigeria was not fully represented in this year's WSC.
We have what it takes to win again.

Anyway, Kenya is up next year and I see us winning big-time.

Well if they want us to criticize the France embassy, they should be honest enough to tell us the ground on which the refusal was given. I know how different bodies use their capacity to 'sell' visa by adding unqualified participants from which they have collected huge sum of money as part of the selected representative of our nation. Being into travel agency business, such offers are very common. If they have good application, they should reapply and address whatever the embassy found wanting in the first application....

Please refer to the post where the Scrabble Federation President stated the reasons for the visa denial.

The Minister may be a misfit, but please, take nothing away from Nigeria Scrabble Federation. We are the most organised of all these federations.
The processes for visa application were done in an orderly and airtight manner. France is just bleeding from too many wounds.

You mean competition starts tomorrow and only today you found out your visa was refused?

What happened to applying earlier?
Smh
Sulaiman Garba Gora, The Nigeria Scrabble FEderation President wrote:
Elie the unfortunate part of all this is the reason adduced for the Visa refusal, which is that the applicant did not show enough reason to be in France for the Championship. I had as far back as May when we applied spoke with officials of the French Embassy who assured me. Only one senior player had his visa approved with the same documents.
Visa normally takes 10 days but this took six weeks only to be denied when it is impossible to appeal.
