“A brief situation report, until this post is written:

At 21:45 enemy jets fired several long range Stand-Off missiles from Northern Palestinian airspace toward Damascus and Damascus outskirt. This was one of the largest attacks yet.

The missiles were hit over Southern Syria by Syrian Air Defenses and failed to reach the airspace over the Syrian Capital.

A second patch of missiles were fired shortly after which was also foiled by SyAAD over Southern Syria. An enemy UAV was sent with the second patch and was reportedly shot down over al-Kiswa area.

Local sources told SouthFront that the SyAAD is still launching surface-to-air missiles at flying objects over Damascus and al-Quneitra. Several loud explosions were also heard between the two governorates.

The available information indicate that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) attempt to strike positions of Iranian forces south of Damascus. However, the Syrian and Israeli media are yet to provide more details.

If confirmed, this would be the first Israeli airstrike on Syria since the downing of the Russian Il-20 intelligence plane on September 17. Following the incident, Russia supplied Syria with the S-300 air defense system and an advanced command and control system.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have continued attacks on targets in Syria even after the downing of the Russian Il-20 military plane on September 17, Reuters reported on October 29 citing “a senior Israeli official”.

It is interesting to note that the comment of the “anonymous source” to Reuters came less than an hour after the Russian news agency Sputnik had released a short interview with former Israeli deputy chief of staff and ex-head of the National Security Council Gen. Uzi Dayan. The general said that the Israeli Air Force would feel no difference even if Syria employs Russia-supplied S-300 systems and claimed Israeli warplanes would eliminate the air-defense systems stating “these weapons do not have any immunity”. This is another sign of the pre-planned PR trick.

It’s clear that the Israeli military is not going to cease its strikes on targets in the war-torn country and is likely fiercely preparing to continue them despite the S-300 delivery to the Syrian Air Defense Forces. However, pro-Israeli media as well as Israeli political and military officials probably consider every delay of such actions a major media and diplomatic setback revealing the decrease of Israeli influence on the conflict.

Russian deputy envoy to the UN Vladimir Safronkov stated during a meeting of the UN Security Council on October 29 that the White Helmets and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) are still capable of carrying out provocations involving chemical weapons in the Idlib de-escalation zone. He recalled “suspicious” movements of chemical weapons across the area and stated that Idlib de-escalation agreements have always been a temporary measure and nobody has dropped the goal of eliminating terrorists from this part of Syria. In the Euphrates Valley, clashes between ISIS and the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have continued with reports that some ISIS units have even reached the area near the Iraqi border. OCTOBER 12, 2018: ‘S-300 ELIMINATION’ DELAYED – ISRAEL GROUNDS F-35 FLEET



On October 11, the Israeli military announced that it had halted flights of F-35I stealth fighter jets following the crash of the US Marine Corps F-35B jet in South Carolina on September 28. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) stated that the F-35B crash was caused by a technical malfunction in the engine’s fuel pipe. So, the IAF decided to make additional precautions and conduct tests on all F-35I aircraft before continuing to employ them.

Earlier, multiple Israeli experts and even top officials claimed that the IAF may soon employ F-35I jets to challenge S-300 air defense systems, which were recently received by the Syrian military. However, it seems any kind of these actions is now delayed.

Heavy clashes erupted between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and ISIS in the villages of al-Shaafah, al-Susah and al-Baghuz al-Fawqani in the Hajin pocket in the province of Deir Ezzor. According to the SDF, ISIS members used a sandstorm to carry out a series of attacks. The US-backed group also claimed that 35 ISIS members were killed during the 24 hours of the clashes.

In turn, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS attacked 9 SDF positions, killed several US-backed members and destroyed 3 of their vehicles.

The US-led coalition announced in a statement that it and Iraqi security forces had neutralized a key ISIS financial facilitation network during in the Iraqi cities of Baghdad and Erbil in the period from October 7 and October 9.

According to the statement, security forces arrested ten members of the financial network, which is known as the “al-Ray network.” No further details about the detained persons were provided.

“The arrests deal a major blow to ISIS’s capacity to threaten and terrorize civilians … This demonstrates that those who assist in, sponsor, or provide financial, material or technological support to ISIS will face severe consequences,” Major General Patrick B. Roberson, commander of the US-led coalition Special Operation Joint Task Force said in the statement.

The Iraqi government announced defeat of ISIS in the country in 2017. However, multiple ISIS cells and ISIS-linked networks have remained in many desert region sand big cities. These cells still pose a significant security threat.

ISRAEL WON'T STOP OPS IN SYRIA DESPITE S-300 DELIVERY - DEFENSE MINISTER


On Tuesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that Moscow had delivered 49 units of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems to Syria in order to enhance the security of Russian servicemen in the country.


Speaking on Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that Tel Aviv wasn't "happy" about the S-300sdeliveries to Syria, but it could not give up on its military operations in the war-ravaged country.

"I cannot say that we are happy about the deployment of the S-300s. At the same tome, we have no choice here. We have no opportunity to make decisions [on military operations in Syria]," he said.


The minister further stated that it was important for Russia and Israel to restore normal ties despite their disagreements over the downing of the Il-20 reconnaissance plane.

“I think the most important thing for us today is…to return the working relationship to normal. It is today the most important task — to return to normal operation, coordination, to more actively use the 'hot line' to prevent conflict situations. We need to work,” said Lieberman.

Lieberman once again reiterated that Israel blamed Syria for the Il-20 crash, thus dismissing Moscow's version that Israeli F-16 jets had used the Russian aircarft as a shield against Syrian air defenses.

“I repeat, the entire responsibility lies with Assad's army… Over the past two years Israel has conducted more than 200 strikes against Iranian facilities and Hezbollah targets in Syria. Two hundred times, and not a single Russian soldier received a single scratch. Suddenly, here we allegedly arranged such a 'setup'. It is illogical. In addition, you need to understand that the speed of the F-16 is two and a half times the speed of the Il-20… and at the time when the Syrian air defenses opened fire, Israeli planes were already in our airspace," the minister said.

Russia will establish an unofficial no-fly zone over Syria

Today Defense Minster Shoigu announced measures which went far beyond what I had hoped for. Specifically, Shoigu has announced that Russia will

Supply S-300 air defense systems (with a 250km range) to the Syrians in the next two weeks.
Russia will deliver advanced automated air defense management systems which will *dramatically* increase the Syrian air defense capabilities and prevent future “friendly fire” incidents.
Russia will use her electronic warfare capabilities to suppress satellite navigation, onboard radar systems and communications of warplanes attacking targets on Syrian territory in the regions over the waters of the Mediterranean Sea bordering with Syria.
This is a very flexible and elegant solution for the following reasons:

It establishes a de facto air exclusion zone over Syria, but not a de jure one. Thus, the Russians will have the flexibility to decide on a nation by nation and aircraft by aircraft basis which aircraft should be suppressed/engaged and which ones to only track and monitor. This will give Russia a very powerful negotiating position with all the actors of this war.
It goes without saying that while these new capabilities will be deployed in Syria in response to the Israeli actions, they will also dramatically boost the Syrian capabilities against any potential aggressors including the USA and US client states. The S-300s will make it possible for the Syrian to detect and even track the Israeli aircraft right after their take-off and while still in Israeli air space.
While the Russians have not indicated which automated air defense management system they plan to deliver to Syria, it is likely that this is one which is typically used to control the engagement of S-300 and Buk air defense systems, the Poliana D-4. The delivery of this system will dramatically increase the air defense capabilities of the Russian task force in Syria making it much harder for Neocon à la Bolton to target Russian forces.
I have to admit that I am surprised by the magnitude and quality of this response. Clearly, the arrogance of the Israelis did not pay off and this time their usual chutzpah was met with a great deal of Russian anger (albeit carefully controlled anger). For Bibi Netanyahu, the Russian reaction is an absolute disaster because it undermines his entire policy towards Syria (and Lebanon and Iran). The Israeli strikes (over 200, of which they bothered to notify Russia in only about 10% of the cases) did not yield any tangible benefit for Israel, but has now fundamentally undermined Israel’s relationship with Russia. As I have said it many times, for all their self-serving propaganda about being so smart, the Israelis are actually pretty incompetent being blinded, as they are, by their quasi infinite arrogance.

However, please keep in mind that in warfare there is no such thing as a magical silver bullet. For one thing, the Israelis will still have the option of attacking targets in Syria (be it by using aircraft, or missiles, including sea based), but the difficulty of successfully executing such an attack will increase by an order of magnitude. The same also goes for the US/NATO/CENTOM/etc. One option would be to go for a saturation attack by using very large number of missiles since the Syrian and Russian capabilities are still limited by numbers: even in an ideal situation (excluding EW capabilities), that is even if the kill ratio of Russian missiles is 1:1, the Russians will only be able to shoot down as many enemy missiles as their supplies allow. The US+Israeli missiles supplies in the region are far bigger.

Second, both the US and Israelis have very sophisticated EW warfare capabilities and rest assured that they will use them if needed. Yes, the Russians are qualitatively ahead of other countries in this field, but one should never under-estimate the capabilities of the bad guys.

Third, the AngloZionists will now do one of three things: either pretend that they don’t care and basically accept the situation on the ground like they did in South Ossetia and Crimea, or try to negotiate some kind of deal with the Russians, or react with hysterical threats and provocation in the hope that the Russians will blink. While we can hope for option #1, we also have to realize that options #2 and #3 are far more likely. In other words, this is far from over.

Finally, this latest news conclusively debunks the notion that Putin is a doormat or sellout and that the Russians are either unable or unwilling to oppose the AngloZionists. All those who have accused Putin of being Israel’s shabboy goy are going to be busy removing eggs from their collective face. The fact that the Russians took their time to analyze what happened and prepare a response was not a symptom of their weakness, but of their responsible behavior in a most dangerous situation. Within two weeks Russia will complete the delivery to Damascus of an S-300 air defense system previously suspended on a request by Israel as part of response to the downing of a Russian plane amid an Israeli air raid on Syria.
Russia will supply the weapons to the Syrian side as part of response to the downing of a Russian Il-20 aircraft amid an Israeli air raid on Syrian territory, the Russian defense ministry announced.

Moscow accused Israel of failing to inform Russia about its impending attack on targets in Syria, which resulted in a downing of the Russian electronic warfare aircraft by Syrian’s return fire. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the defense ministry to take several measures in response to the incident, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Arguably, the most concerning thing for Israel will be the delivery to Syria of an S-300 anti-aircraft system, which will boost Syria’s capabilities to deny Israel access to its airspace. The system was purchased by Damascus several years ago, but never delivered.

“In 2013 on a request from the Israeli side we suspended the delivery to Syria of the S-300 system, which was ready to be sent with its Syrian crews trained to use it,” the statement said.

“The situation has changed, and not due to our fault.”

The S-300 is a relatively modern system capable of engaging targets at the range of up to 250 km. Syria’s current anti-aircraft systems are older models that didn’t stop Israel from attacking targets on Syrian territory.

The Russian military will also supply better control systems to Syrian Air Defense Troops, “which are only supplied to the Russian Armed Forces,” defense chief Sergei Shoigu elaborated. This will allow integration of Syrian and Russian military assets, allowing the Syrian to have better targeting information. “The most important thing is that it will ensure identification of Russian aircraft by the Syrian air defense forces.” Potentially it would also expose Israeli aircraft tracked by Russian radar stations to Syrian fire.

The third measure announced by the Russian defense ministry is a blanket of electronic countermeasures over Syrian coastline, which would “suppress satellite navigation, onboard radar systems and communications of warplanes attacking targets on Syrian territory.”

Shoigu said the measures are meant to “cool down ‘hotheads’ and prevent misjudged actions posing a risk to our service members.” He added that if such a development fails to materialize, the Russian military “would act in accordance to the situation.”

Last week, a Russian Il-20 plane with 15 people on board was shot down by a Syrian anti-aircraft missile over the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Latakia governorate. The Syrians fired in response to an Israeli air raid on its soil.

Russia laid the blame for the downing on Israel, saying that the Israeli military failed to inform their Russian counterpart in time for the Il-20 to be moved to a safe area. They also said the Israelis may have deliberately used the Russian plane as a cover, expecting that the Syrians would not dare to fire at their F-16 fighter jets with the Russian plane nearby.

The Israelis denied the allegations and said they took all proper precautions and didn’t use the Il-20 as a cover. The explanations, however, failed to convince Moscow.

The economic rise of China is perhaps the best example that challenges the basic foundations of the “science” of economics and demonstrates the invalidity of many of its theories.

In the previous article (http://ooduarere.com/news-from-nigeria/world-news/fallacy-western-economics/), I expressed my views about how the West used the principles of economics as a means to impose on the rest of the world a new era of slavery. In this sequel article (which was not planned at all), I will be using the example of China to express my views about how China managed to operate and succeed outside those alleged laws and how those same Western “laws” are turning back to bite the very hand that not only fed them, but also created them.

Manufacturing is not new to China, neither is industrial innovation, and despite the many barriers that stood in the way of trading with China prior to America’s formal recognition of the Maoist Government in 1979, following Nixon’s historical visit in 1972, the Peoples Republic of China was already exporting to the international market a hoard of products. They were cheap, extremely cheap, but generally of very poor quality, especially if advanced technological skills were needed in their manufacture.

But when the retail price of an English-made wrench was $20 compared to $2 for a Chinese-made one, many Western consumers began to look the other way, knowing beforehand that the quality of the Chinese product was not going to be anything comparable to that of what is in the category of the “best of British”.

The Chinese insatiable desire to industrialize was flagged by some shrewd Western industrialists. They were totally aware that manufacturing was part-and-parcel of the Chinese psyche, and they decided to capitalize on the phenomenon.

In reality therefore, the first steps for China to ramp up its technological and industrial prowess was fueled by Western investors; and this is not a secret. The rise of China as a successful economic giant has been fed and orchestrated by Western corporate greed seeking cheap labour.

Those corporations brought home “good news”; they achieved profit, generated growth, made happy shareholders and were delighted with their performance on Wall St.

In doing so, those corporations were applying the “rules” and “laws” of economics, and they “succeeded”. What they did not foresee was that this success was going to lead to national disasters at home. Their “laws” of economics do not warn about such sequential developments, and even if they did, the CEO’s would still be blinded by their personal performances, corporate profit and not worrying about domestic unemployment and degradation of their own local and national industrial base. As a matter of fact, those CEO’s cannot still be in denial now after they have seen the demise of Western industries, but they continue to be indifferent, and they will only relocate their manufacturing base back home if and when they are given tax incentives.

And China is not like any other nation. Its high population gives it a demographic clout that no other nation possesses, and there are no “laws” and “rules” of economics that warn about this, are there?

And even though India’s population is not far behind, the psyches of the two nations, China and India, are quite different when it comes to industrialization. This statement is not to undermine India at all, because India had other avenues and challenges to contend with, and while China was focusing on developing industry, India’s educated English-speaking youth were keen on developing IT skills and became world leaders; both in quality and quantity. As a matter of fact, many key IT positions in the USA itself cannot now be filled by qualified Americans when the jobs are advertised, and employers end up recruiting Indian professionals to fill those positions.

India certainly developed a diverse range of industrial sectors throughout the nation, but let us not digress. But, when it comes to actual manufacturing and the way a nation can mass mobilize for this, nothing equals China. Many nations possess enormous potential labour power, perhaps not as much as China and India, but if we look at Egypt for example, Egypt has a very poor economy and is in a desperate situation to create employment and higher standards of living. And even though many Egyptians are highly qualified artisans, a Pharaonic heritage perhaps, the mass-production factory concept is not something that the current Egyptian culture and psyche are familiar with, not to that kind of scale.

So when China decided to capitalize on the knowledge and experience it learned from Western investors, it did not only have the human resources, but also the preparedness and determination to develop its own technology and industries at all levels; human, economic and practical. From personal experience, I recollect from a visit to Shenzhen back in 2002, how my tour guide was bragging about the rate of new factories emerging in his city; something that Westerners would be cringing about.

Add to this China’s military might. But even when Chairman Mao sent a million troops into Korea seven decades ago, armed only with rifles and a handful of rice, the whole UN so-called “Police Action” had to take notice.

So who would want to mess with a more advanced and military capable China over half a century later?

But as Chinese-made products became of better quality, and continued to be much cheaper than Western-made products, Western manufacturers were no longer able to compete.

In effect therefore, China was not only unstoppable by the West because of its demographic might, military might, cheap products of ever improving quality, but also because the West grew extremely dependent on and addicted to cheap Chinese imports.

During that same visit to China, I inadvertently met a British businessman in his fifties, someone who had lived in Hong Kong for virtually all of his life and continued to live there after the 1997 handover to China. He had a prediction; he said that China has a master plan to become the ONLY industrial nation of the world; it will compete with all other industrial nations on price, bring them to bankruptcy, factory by factory, nation by nation, and then when it becomes the sole provider of virtually all global consumable goods, it will dictate prices and bring the world down to its knees.

I did not agree with the second component of his vision back then and I don’t now, and the reason is simple. If China endeavours to be the world’s prime exporter of consumables, it will need to make sure that its clients remain affluent enough to be able to buy its products.

But the first component of his prediction is coming home. China is now already the biggest exporter of almost all manufactured commodities, and many competitors have already closed down.

It is ironic therefore, that America is imposing tariffs and sanctions on China when in fact all that China has to do is to ban exports to America for a month and America will run out of consumer goods; all the way from T-shirts to iPhones. China even manufactures some high-tech hardware used by the military, again because lazy and profit-driven giants like Lockheed have subcontracted Chinese manufacturers to produce them in order to increase profitability.

Where in the “rules” of economics do we find any rhetoric that alludes to such contingencies that are not merely profit-driven and based?

And whilst the West normally keeps its own currency high and the currencies of poorer nations low in a deliberate attempt to profiteer from cheap imports, in the case of China, this approach is backfiring. To begin with, there is no rational or economic “law” that could explain why China, the world’s second largest economy, a nation with no debt, with huge savings and exports, would have a Renminbi (Yuan) worth quarter of a USD or so. DPR HEAD IS ASSASINATED. PRO-KIEV FORCES PREPARE FOR ADVANCE IN EASTERN UKRAINE

On August 31, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko died from wounds received in a bomb attack in the DPR capital of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. The explosion, which took place in a restaurant, “Separatist”, also injured at least 3 persons, including the DPR Finance Minister.

The Russian Foreign Ministry described the incident as a terrorist attack designed “to derail the process of peaceful political settlement in Donbass and the implementation of the Minsk Agreements”. The ministry called on the Kiev government “to stop relying on terrorism to resolve Ukraine’s domestic issues”.

The DPR authorities accused the Kiev government of being behind the attack. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed that it is aware of the incident but claimed that the death of Zakharchenko was a result of some internal tensions within the DPR.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Trapeznikov became Interim Head of the DPR.

Meanwhile, DPR military spokesman Eduard Basurin said that the Ukrainian military is re-grouping its forces along the contact line with the DPR.

“We think this is the eventual goal in terms of destabilizing the situation in the areas near the Line of Contact – something the Ukrainian and US secret services have hoped to gain,” he said. “We don’t rule out an offensive at one of the sections of the line.” Separately, he pointed out “the deployment of a Ukrainian security forces’ combat group in the direction of Mariupol under the guise of Storm-2018 drills”. According to Basuring citing intelligence data, the UAF may carry out a new attack on the DPR on September 14.

Over the past few years, the DPR and its neighbor, the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), have been hit by a series of terrorist attacks and assassinations. According to DPR and LPR sources, all of them has been reportedly carried out by Ukrainian intelligence and its agents. However, some sources say that at least a part of these incidents has been a result of the internal tensions within the DPR and the LPR. Local sources describe the work of the republic’s security forces as only “sub-optimal” to what is needed.

It is also important to note that Zakharchenko was one of the persons signing the Minsk II agreements in 2015, which declared a ceasefire between Ukraine and the DPR-LPR forces. Now, when Zakharchenko is dead, Kiev may use this as a justification to ignore further its responsibilities in the framework of the agreements.

The chances for any kind of successful peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine continue to decrease.

PUSHILIN BECOMES ACTING HEAD OF DPR AS MILITARY TENSIONS GROW IN EASTERN UKRAINE


Speaker of the Parliament of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin was appounted an acting head of the republic under decision of the DPR Parliament on September 7. A majority of the members of parliament supported the decision. Additionally, the DPR Parliament designated November 11 as the date for the election of a head of the DPR to replace Pushilin.

From the assasination of DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko on August 31 to September 6, Dmitry Trapeznikov served as DPR Acting Head.

The appointment of Pushilin comes amid the growing military tensions in eastern Ukraine. After Zakharchenko’s killing, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the attack was “a Ukrainian provocation…obviously aimed at derailing the implementation of the Minsk agreements.”

Meanwhile, according to the DPR military, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are actively concentrating troops and military equipment along the contact line with the DPR and the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). One of the main areas of the UAF deployment is the countryside of Mariupol. The DPR military says that chances that the UAF will carry out an attack on the republics in the near future [in middle September] are growing.

Another factor contributing to the possible escalation is the ucpoming presidential election in Ukraine [scheduled on March 31, 2019]. The current Ukrainian president, Petr Poroshenko, and his government have suffered multiple political and economic setbacks since the previous election, which took place on May 25, 2014. According to exprts, the only thing allowing Poroshenko to remain in the power is smoldering conflict in the eastern part of the country and the Western financial support to Ukraine received under this pretext. So, it can be expected that the Poroshenko regime will make an attempt to escalate situation to remain in the power.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – SEPTEMBER 6, 2018: RUSSIAN WARPLANES WIPE OUT ARMED UAV WORKSHOP IN IDLIB



Su-34 and Su-35S warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed a warehouse of portable anti-aircraft missiles and a workshop where Idlib militants were making armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and kept explosives in store, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced on September 5. According to him, the strikes were delivered on September 4, away from populated areas. Konashenkov noted that over the past month 47 UAVs launched by militants have been eliminated near Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base.

Earlier, pro-militant sources once again accused the Russian Aerospace Forces of striking civilian targets in the province of Idlib. While some civilian casualties as a result of any kind of fully-fledged operations against well-armed terrorist groups can hardly be avoided, pro-militant sources and mainstream media outlets are often exploiting this narrative in their propaganda campaigns against the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance. Most of reports appearing from pro-militant “media activists” in Idlib describe any destroyed militant position, HQ or warehouse as a bakery, a medical point or a civilian house.

Fearing a full-scale ground advance by the Syrian Army against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allies in the Idlib de-escalation zone, militants are destroying bridges in the al-Ghab Plains area. According to available data, at least four bridges were blown up during the past 10 days.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-led forces have also built additional fortifications and deployed reinforcements at the contact line with pro-government forces as well as have carried out a series of arrests of public persons and political activists supporting a reconciliation with the Damascus government.

On September 5, the Syrian military deployed another batch of troops and heavy equipment near the province of Idlib. This force belongs to the 1st Division, which is set to participate in the upcoming offensive alongside with the Tiger Forces, the 5th Assault Corps, the 4th Armoured Division and other pro-government factions.

In the area of al-Safa, the Syrian Army continued its operation against ISIS cells. According to pro-government sources, artillery units and warplanes are actively striking the remaining ISIS positions. However, no final offensive has been launched yet because Damascus still hopes to save multiple civilian hostages kept by the terrorist group in the area.

On September 4, the White House once again threatened the Syrian government with a military action.

“The United States is closely monitoring the situation in Idlib province, Syria, where millions of innocent civilians are under threat of an imminent Assad regime attack, backed by Russia and Iran,” the statement said. “Let us be clear, it remains our firm stance that if President Bashar al-Assad chooses to again use chemical weapons, the United States and its Allies will respond swiftly and appropriately.”

Considering multiple US threats to use military force against Damascus in case of new reports on chemical attack in Syria, it will be strange if no such reports appear when the battle of Idlib finally starts.

In response, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the TIP have shelled Syrian Army positions in northern Hama. The situation is developing.

US THREATS TO STRIKE SYRIA WILL NOT HALT LIBERATION OF IDLIB: SYRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER



Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem says that US threats to strike the war-torn country will not halt the liberation of Idlib from militants.

“The intended aggression won’t affect our people’s morale nor will it sway our military plans to liberate Idlib,” Muallem told the Russian state media. “This is not the first time that the United States, Great Britain and France have cooked up a scheme for a chemical weapons incident. It happened earlier in the Damascus suburb of Douma, when these countries decided not to wait for the results of an international investigation and conducted a trilateral strike on Syria. However, the Syrian people manned up to and scoffed off that aggression. They celebrated as they watched Syrian rockets down missiles launched by the aggressors.”

The diplomat said that the US-led bloc is going to justify its attack by a staged chemical weapons use incident in the province.

“They [the US and its allies] are providing the White Helmets with tools to stage a false flag chemical weapons incident and shoot it in a village in the Idlib province,” he said noting that “this video footage is planned to be used as an excuse for a future aggression.”

In general, I think it is outrageous that those who must be responsible for the security of Zakharchenko blinked when this terror act happened. As a minimum, yes. If, of course, all this information is indeed confirmed. Because it was absolutely obvious.. it’s not for the first time that the tactic of Ukrainian terrorists – let’s call it like this, it is exactly like that – is tracing travel routes, planting explosive devices, most likely work with informants, and blowing things up by committing terrorist acts. I.e., the handwriting is obvious. This has been happening for already a very long time. So, those who must be responsible for this security should’ve been engaged in these things. Time after time very large lapses take place concerning those who are responsible for security in the DPR. In my opinion it is just a failure by the Donetsk special services and all those who organise and who are responsible for the security of Mr Zakharchenko.

If at least something good can come from this tragic murder, I hope that it will be a substantial reform of the DNR security services and a serious, sustained and determined effort by the Kremlin to provide the needed technical assistance to the DNR/LNR.
