I don't think Russia's military objective was to take Kiev.

The lack of implementation of the MINSK agreement was the primary reason for this military operation in Ukraine.

If the Russians wanted to take Kiev, they would have sent more than 130k troops, this is a fact.

With the intensity of military operations in the last month, it seems pretty obvious that securing eastern Ukraine, degrading the Ukrainian military were the primary objectives.

Ukraine has received a lot of help, this is no Iraq or Afghanistan, all NATO countries including Japan, Australia and a couple countries in Asia have given Ukraine military assistance. Offcourse in such a situation the Russians would expect to meet major resistance.

Today the Russians have entered another city, Slavutych, Kyiv region.

This is what the current military map looks like.

"Russia continues to advance in Ukraine. If you look at the purple circle on the far right side of the map (this is the western border of Donetsk), the Russian forces and their LDNR allies are encircling the largest remnant of Ukraine’s army."

Also more than 60 Ukranian soldiers mostly officers surrendered. Occupied by the Russian military ZKP APU in the Kiev region. More than 60 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in this area.

Ok, big brain play from putin.

I won't say all Russian objectives have been achieved, but it's clear that the ability for the Ukrainian military to wage war has been severely degraded.

The Donbass territories would have to be cleared for full military objectives to be met.
If the Ukrainian ability to wage war has been severely degraded like you claim, the Russians would be flying riot over Kyiv and eastern Ukraine, not lobbing stand off munitions from hundreds of miles away and employing artillery strike and digging in on the ground.
It became clear after the first week that they’ll bleed so much trying to oust zelensky. This new goal they claim to achieve is just an off ramp.

You can’t lose a war if you keep changing your goals.

Russia has already disturbed the water, it would be in their best interest to finish this now, press zelensky and force him to the table to completely demilitarize and agree to neutrality. (IMHO)

But one surprising observations i made from watching Twitter videos is that the Russians move their tracked vehicles mostly on roads making their operations very predictable for Ukrainian ATGM squads. Are they avoiding the dirt because the spring season that makes the ice melt and the ground too muddy? Is it because of they fear their logistics cannot follow? I wonder why they do not advance more often into enemy territory off road to gain more element of surprise.

Early on, the Ukrainians had highly mobile blood riders armed with atgms and rpgs, roaming the backroads hunting Russian rear column especially. So whatever was not blown to pieces got stuck in the mud.

I think after the first 7 days of the war, the Russians changed tactics. Instead of driving in long columns they have switched to smaller BTG sized movements.

I also notice they have reduced the use of Frontline aviation, instead favouring rocket assisted artillery strikes and cruise missiles.
I call it “rocket and insha allah”

many volunteers for the Ukrainian foreign legion are running back home because the fighting is too violent and Ukrainians are preventing them from leaving by cutting their passports and dragging them to the frontlines . It's like they thought the Russians will not shoot back.
Getting pounded by artillery and cruise missiles isn’t fun. They are starting to realize that they are the “Iraqi’s” in this war. Minimal air support and left at the mercy of the vks.

Most powerful non nuclear weapon of Russians is FOAB FAE bomb , one of it will literally wipe out a small town

TOS is a mbrl which fires short range rockets with thermobaric warheads , such systems are common in many countries

Anyway, it is a devastating weapon.

Ukraine joining NATO, is a conspiracy by the USA and Ukrainian gvt.
Ukraine was never going to join NATO, Russia made sure of that by arming and funding separatist, during the 2014 Invasion and annexation of crimea, you can’t join NATO if you have disputed territories.

This stupid invasion just made it easier for Ukraine to join.

The west have no intention of letting this war end, war is expensive and they’ll make sure they drag this war for as long as possible till putin gives up.
They’ll supply weapons to Ukraine for as long as it takes putin to realize this. Foreign mercenaries would also join the fight if necessary. They would sabotage the Russians at every opportunity they get.

Putin says he’ll deal with anyone who intervenes, well they don’t have to intervene directly, they’ll fight him by proxy.

Putin has seriously miscalculated, the only thing this war has achieved is uniting the Ukrainians, EU and NATO.
Even neutral Switzerland wants to sanction Russia.

How did the Russians get so close to Kyiv so quickly?
They airstriked and shelled the fear of God into the Ukrainians last night.
There’s also report that they used Ukrainian army vehicles and uniforms as cover to penetrate deep, Clever.

[s]I am pro-peace neither Russian nor Ukrainian. I'm being objective with the facts. Your sympathy for Ukraine is misguided if it is to help spread propaganda. What I shared is accurate. You may want to continue to live an alive in wonderland story that says a Russian Airborne Assault Team was destroyed with no evidence. I guess Russia was sleeping when it happened. This is classic warfare mind games to whip up nationalistic fervour to defend the country. The people in the Zelensky presidency saying that are already negotiating their escape into exile or surrender to the Russians which are just 20 miles out of Kiev. This is the reality and those Special forces created the air-bridge for that to happen. This is the way things are. Stop spreading western lies and disinformation which got us here in the first place.[/s]

Sry u might be sympathetic to Ukraine or a Ukrainian but u might want to leave Twitter space and check sources elsewhere. War involves lots of disinformation far from reality.

There is no way the Ukrainians stand a chance assuming they retake it, Russia will respond

This is just minutes ago as confirmation

You’ve made no effort to hide the fact that you’re pro-russian, but I’m sympathetic to Ukraine because I corrected a “disinformation that is far from reality” which YOU shared.

I’m not doubting the ability of Russia to respond, but for now let’s say things the way they are.

Fake news and disinformation. The Russians are firmly in control of the airport outside Kiev one of their key objectives on day one.

Apparently elsewhere there was a counter attack in they got lucky but not around Kiev. Much of the bitter fighting by the Ukrainians is happening around Kharkiv which will fall.
The bolded has confirmed you don’t even know what you’re talking about.

Nothing like seeing a Russian soldier move: in this astonishing clip by CNN's Matthew Chance (brave guy) Russian Airborne Assault Special Forces Operators manoeuvre at an airport they captured just outside Kiev. A bridge head is now set up for more Russian Armada to pour in. Expect the fall of Kiev & government in a few.

Its actually sickening for anyone to think otherwise of a certain outcome. Apart from strategic and tactical weapons the Russians are one of the best fighting forces on earth.

Algeria has strong military but it is also vulnerable ( for solace to algerians, same with ind.. actually worse )

Neither can replace attrition loses if war stretches which a enemy will try to stretch knowing fully well the said vulnerability, than both are done for ( cannot comment on other countries , but ind.. will get ass fuked grin )

Taiwan attacked will lead to large scale scramble for nukes bec USA will never risk itself for other countries , it's guarantees r worthless

And this will open Pandora's box which will never shut down again

IMO France will never attack an African country as in with a direct full scale invasion, the cost to benifit is not in favour of such action , you do know how many Africans are french citizens or living there , How can they risk their wrath / internal strife ?

IMO what they might do is intervention or rather piggybacking on internal enemies , preferably indirectly , their interest are mostly economic by hook or by crook , not territorial bec they do not have the capacity or resources to hold the same beyond a short time and bec of domestic risks as i mentioned before

But human stupidity knows no bounds so if by chance France does attack , will be able to damage infra etc but beyond that doubtful except for a busload of new enemies

Threat to African countries will be those in geographic proximity ie neighbours either alone or with external help but if world order changes than can't say anything is possible including foreign invasions from beyond Africa ( same for any continent more or less )

Economic prosperity will always lead to strong military

NATO ( or the individual EU countries ) will now become even stronger , post USSR NATO / EU countries almost became useless except for France

Russian stands to loose more in my opinion with time , well time will tell
Good read

All the Lake Chad basin countries don't have the resources to pull it off. So if those governments don't have the resources it means they are part of BOKo haram baa?
