Just PMd you, very important.
Plismoll:
I arrived in Munich two days ago and it has been a wonderful experience right from departure in Nigeria till date.

- No embarrassment of any kind so far

- Was the only black on-board while connecting Munich from Abu Dhabi. Most Africans I have seen (though few) smile when you meet and some natives have been so friendly.

- Cost of accommodation here is expensive (heard there are very few&cheap student dorms within the city but hardly available) and difficult to get but God dey.

-Transportation system is superb. My best so far is U-bahn.

- Time runs fast in Germany (my personal observation).

... and many more

In all, thanks to every member of this thread. I pray all prospective students will enjoy immense favour.

P.S: This is not my last post here. As much as I can, I will try to help others here. Danke schoen!

If you interviewed in Abuja I don't think you need bother with health insurance, they don't care.
Chiznonso:

How about this health insurance thing? I had bought one thinking I would travel in August though it will expire November 14th, do U think it will be accepted by the embassy?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 5:25pm On Oct 08, 2016
Lol you're right
nevilbot:

U can't? So u will come to a. Country u maybe know no one yet without extra cash in ur pocket cus u av money in a bank acct u cant access immediately? Guy I'm sorry to break it down to u but if u come without extra cash, u won't like ur experience.

One of the ist place u will start feeling it is buying a train ticket from d airport. Dia are no db banks in d airport so just know u will need train tickets. Next is a temporary place u will stay if no one is coming to pick u at d airport to stay with him or her. If u don't av that kinda arrangement then u will av to pay to stay in one of those short term hostels. Will u pay them with d mony in db u can't av access to? My guy don't just try coming without extra cash in euros in ur pocket. Lest u forget its getting cold, make u no go sleep for under bridge.

Wish u d best

Lmfao. They make you go through all that trouble funding the account, and unblocking it is another headache? I can't.
nevilbot:

Impossicant , impossibleee. Residential address is wat u need and it must be duly registered in d rathaus before u can present ur reg form at ur bank. Unblocking takes around a week so go with extra cash or else u go suffer.

I've enrolled, but I won't be able to sort out accommodation till I get there. Is it possible to use your school's address to unblock it? How exactly do they expect you to move around and get accommodation if you can't access your money first thing. With this exchange rate, buying more euros is just....
Keji74:

You cannot unblock your account without your school enrolment certificate and a valid German address. So I guess unblocking your account as you land is not possible
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 12:54am On Oct 07, 2016
@ritze yes I have, and someone else who interviewed on the same day as me. No go fund mail, no AM mail, your passport will just be sent back to you via courier. Everyone who interviewed in Abuja, holdtight cause it's not the conventional way like in Lagos.
echemeiyke:

Can someone please answer this question?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 8:41pm On Oct 06, 2016
Important question for those who have left, are there DB branches in or around the airports for one to quickly unblock their blocked account as they land? If yes, how long is the process? Can it be done on weekends?

Can someone please explain what A.M mail is? Is it an email you get letting you know your visa has been approved?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 8:36pm On Sep 07, 2016
I think it's 8800 with the new form, not sure. But that's what mine is.
otomisinT:

O Boy!.... Excuse my Ignorance pls... Are we to Fund DB for 8800Euros or 8040
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 1:29pm On Sep 07, 2016
8800 @ 462, you do the math (Smh forex is just ridiculous). It was transferred from a domiciliary acc, so no need for any documents like admission letter. I'm just waiting for DB to give me my statement because tomorrow will be a week since my interview and they said to send my proof of funding.
praiseovie:

How much in naira did they charge you in total for the 8790 euros, to be able to calculate the exchange rate, what and what documents did you also use (admission letter and what else). thanks
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 10:35am On Sep 07, 2016
I think a new account was opened. I didn't make the payment so I'm not sure, but I think it went same day
un48table:
How long did it take keystone bank to fund you. Do you bank with them or you opened a new account with them.
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 10:33am On Sep 07, 2016
Keystone says that once they send a telex, it means the money should be there. I'm confused. Is there any way to contact DB apart from Facebook?
UncleJudax:

All things being equal, it takes about 3 days. Expect it from today. Congrati.
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 10:02pm On Sep 06, 2016
Last week friday was when the last payment left. So I definitely have to wait for DB statement? Any idea how long it takes? 1week? less?
chinok97:
it hasn't gotten to db yet i guess, na yesterday night i receive debit alert.
Its DB statement compulsorily!!!.

how long have you been debited?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 9:23pm On Sep 06, 2016
How long did it take to get to DB? I've funded mine (Keystone) and I'm currently waiting for the notification from DB, because that's the last thing I need to send to the embassy people. Do you know if they will accept a telex copy or do they need to see the DB statement?
chinok97:
i was debited yesterday, Ecobank. within 7days.Adeola odeku branch, Current account (Was advised to use dis, since i no get savings) if u have existing account with them den u can go on with the savings. 3.2m in total tho undecided, including charges. d rates na die. But it's done already smiley.

Also, a heads-up for those who were born after 1992, they did not accept my NPC birth certificate for whatever reason. So I would advise getting a declaration of age as well, just in case.
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 12:46pm On Sep 05, 2016
Question for those who has funded their blocked acc, exactly how long does the transfer process take? After your bank has sent the money... Also how long does it take DB to email you your statement?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 11:10pm On Sep 04, 2016
Yeah, depends on exchange rate. Mine was N19,000.
iyke24all:

I was at Abuja embassy on the Ist of Sept for DB opening. The fee been 20euros and they took 6400 from me, which is #320 to one euro. so, 60euros in Abuja should be about #19200. but I have seen peeps say they took 21500 naira. so u can budget within this range, or better still @sd39 should enlighten us better. Bottom line, it depends on the exchange rate. Danke.

No test, but I had to write a motivational letter in front of them. "Why do you want to study in German"
noordyn:

Is it crucial that I sign it? What if it's done on my behalf?
teeybros:

DEPOSE by your mum or dad implies that either of them should be the one to establish the declaration of age. i.e any of them have to sign the declaration with their names written. note that you also need to sign it.

Question for those who have funded their blocked acc, when the money gets to DB, do they send you an email to confirm or do you have to contact them yourself to find out?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 11:35am On Sep 03, 2016
http://www.internationalstudentinsurance.com/student-health-insurance/ I got the cheapest option, a 1 month plan for $30. Need to see how I can cancel the thing sef.
Dankeschon:

Thanks a lot for the prompt response.
Please what is the cost, and how did you go about getting it?

Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 9:42pm On Sep 02, 2016
No. And I bought health insurance online, literally a few hours before the interview, gave it back to me. At the end I had to ask the lady why she didn't take most of the stuff, so much effort and time put into gathering all these documents and they just took the bare minimum from me. Idk, maybe cause it's Abuja and they usually don't handle student visa.
Dankeschon:

pls did they ask for any Insurance documents? Is health or travel Insurance still mandatory or necessary for the interview?
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 9:37pm On Sep 02, 2016
Oh. Yes my mother's doing it. Thanks.

I don't understand
noordyn:
Please need some clearification as regard DEPOSE to your mum or dad because i just went to magistrate court at Onike,Yaba and an age declaration(afidavit) was done for me
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 2:26pm On Sep 02, 2016
Yeah they're now conducting student visa interviews because of the the pressure from Lagos. Probably why mine was messy, the lady had to have a supervisor standing over her, a million things were happening at the same time. I spoke to 4 people during the entire process.
Eke40seven:

Does that mean students visa interviews are now conducted in Abuja? It's wasn't possible before now.
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by sd39: 2:21pm On Sep 02, 2016
No I was born after 92, was absolutely careful with this entire process. Which is why I'm still confused, but yeah I'm still going to do the declaration of age.
Joysmart:
you were probably born before 1992 that's why they didn't accept NPC birth certificate
Just get age declaration of age deposed to by your Mum or Dad and send both the original and photocopy to them
As for the other things there's no problem at all
It's a good thing you've funded so just email them your funding confirmation
Then relax and wait
By the grace of God it shall end in praise
