I said being rich is an undeserved favor from Him for a purpose. Its not the ultimate factor for your salvation.

Provision of wealth for the poor is good news, provision of health is equally good news just as salvation from divine wrath and sin is good news.
2 Corinthians 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

No matter how much these passages are 'spiritualized', they do leave the idea that Jesus wants His own to prosper, and financially too.

Iam not a proponent of that perversed brand of christianity.

Iam not encouraging atheism. Talking about destiny, who decides and controls it? While he was on earth nothing potrayed him as a rich man. My previous posts have addressed your question. Rejoice greatly, o daughter of zion; shout, o daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvatio; lowly, and riding upon an ass,and upon a colt the foal of an ass. Zech9:9 The emphasis was what he came for and the humility he showed and not to enrich poor people as you'd have us believe. Ain't Kings supposed to ride on well adorned horses?

Image123: You're apparently the one limiting riches to money, not me. Jesus SPECIFICALLY says He has good news FOR the poor, not just for the sinner or unsaved. Another verse says clearly that He Jesus became poor that we may be rich. You yourself stated earlier that being rich is a favour from God. i'm not here to discuss or support the abuse of the gospel, it would however be incomplete to forget or ignore the fact that there is good news for the poor.

The OP made a challenge to preachers of properity teachings in christendom. You should go through his first post. Iam neither a preacher of prosperity nor have i enriched myself with money from seeds and tithes. So when he said 'good news' was he refering to the sharing of money to the poor. And if good news is making the poor rich, kindly back it up with scriptural proof. If he died for us to be rich physically and not spiritually, why was Paul not rich and even thanked patrons for donations made towards the cause. He need only pull out gold coins from his pocket if he had the money. Thanks

If he did, we should all be rich, going by your logic, and many of the early apostles were not known for being rich. Perhaps, they may have violated some of the so called kingdom principles being touted by preachers of prosperity gospel.

From the postings I made earlier on, the good news was not to make the poor rich but to save mankind. It is not meant to be a money making venture for the leader and those being led. The gospel of prosperity, for believers has made it look like a `kalo kalo' business. It is an attempt to cheapens what Christ died for on the cross. The question of selling my goods and giving to the poor doesn't arise here cos its deviating from the topic. Mind you the good news should not be seen from the prism of sharing money. We are meant to take care of the poor at all time as christians and not to make merchandise of them.

My point is God never created everone to be rich. Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Two things have i required of thee,deny me them not before i die: remove far from vanity and lies:give me neither poverty nor riches;feed me with food convenient for me: Lest i be full, and deny thee, and say, who is the LORD? or lest i be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. Prov 30:5-9. If all christians were to become extremely wealthy as the prosperity teachers would have us belive,the question is how economically viable and sustainable is it?

The verses are signs that his gospel does not fit what you've been advocating all along. Its all about humility and does not potray greed and avarice. And mind you its never been `about the benjamins'.

Let's not argue about events and incidents in the bible. Kindly give us instances in the bible where christ made a poor person rich. He never collected 'monetary tithes.' from his followers and never asked them to sow seeds. He even fed the flock after teaching them. Whoever does that in today's church?

The op is very very confused. He though jesus is poor, he though that haven excess money is what God called riches,just check the life style of jesus and adam when he was still in the garden of eden, that is how God want us to live our life, though the both of them did not have money but they never lack anytin.

The most distinct features about his ministry while on earth was salvation. The Gospel of christ as a means to acquiring wealth is decietful to say the least cos he asked his followers not to worry about their needs that God will provide. I don't think you will find where he made anybody rich in the scripture. Lastly, we used to sing and pray for the blessings of abraham, the father of our faith. God made him very rich while on earth but he had greater blessings(riches) than that cos we are part of his heritage. Can you point out any of his worldly asset still standing today be it houses, servants etc.?

True, God promised to take care of our needs but not our greed. What you are, before Him is not a function of how rich you are. Being rich or wealthy must be seen by christians as an underseved favor from God and must be a means to lift and help the poor and needy. It shouldn't take anything away from the humility of christ. He said 'man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

The church I attend is military church, eat tithe money, you will know what will happen to you, nothin like first fruit or sow seed offering.

Nobody is disputing the fact that he had everything he wanted in heaven and could have chosen a lifestyle of opulence while on earth. But nothing about him potrayed wealth while on earth. He lived on charity all through. Rode on borrowed colt, was buried in a donated tomb. If the purse was overflowing, judas would have no motive for an extra income 'cause what they had in collections was really small. And this is from Isaiah. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant,and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness: and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. Isa 53:2. It is a perversion of the gospel to promise people earthly and material things to believe in Christ.

I have just read with shock, some of the unthinkable activities being carried out against the Kurds by ISIS in Iraq - women and children buried alive, women sexually abused and turned to slaves, children beheaded. I think of the merciless beheadings and bombings carried out by the cursed boko sect, and really all the shockingly violent evil things that Islamic "terrorists" are doing the world over.

When I think of these things, one question comes to mind: how does a human mind become so depraved? Why are so many young muslim men (across diverse countries, cultures and levels of exposure) so readily available to commit horrific violence? Where does such violence come from?

What is it about Islam that turns young men into violent monsters?

You need to do a little research to find answers to ur questions. Radical islam as it is known today has its root in d al wahabi movement of saudi arabia over 100 years ago(if not more). The cia has been able to manipulate and pervert the religion to further its own agenda using d alwahabi groups,actively supported by the royal family in s. Arabia. U wonder why b.haram is fighting a jihad in d midst of moslems and killing them? Muhammed asked moslems to protect people of other faiths in their midst.
