Amazing posts! Well done sir ![]() |
Bahamas95:The version of the story I heard in the 80s was even crazier and unbelievable. The story goes that India was already 99 goals up against Nigeria because every attempt on goal would have the ball transform into a lion making a mad dash at the Nigerian goal keeper. Although this occurrence is only visible to the goalkeeper (spectators were oblivious of the Indian magic), he is forced to run away from the goal post just to avoid the rampaging lion. The consolation goal for Nigeria came from Teslim Balogun (Thunder Balogun). After dribbling several Indian defenders the ball transformed into a stone and then three fingers of banana. He was said to have removed and eaten the banana in the middle so as to neutralize the spell on Nigerian footballers. Then the frustrated Indians defenders brought him down in the 18 yard box and Nigeria got a penalty kick. So Thunder Balogun stepped up to take the spot kick. Before the referee sounded his whistle for the kick to be taken, his wife standing close to the touch line admonished him to "remember your left foot" for the strike. Indeed, Thunder is reputed to pack powerful shots in his left foot. So he stepped up and fired the shot. The sting and power in the ball caused it to go through the Indian goalie's abdomen and even made it through the net afterward, and never to be found up till this day My findings showed that this story predates the death of Samuel Okwaraji at the national stadium in Lagos, and India was actually banned by FIFA from playing soccer in the 50s because they always played barefooted which was against the rules of the game. Although not confirmed, Thunder Balogun may actually have killed someone trying to save his shot in Jos, Plateau State during his playing day. |
Svoboda:Too many ignorant folks on this forum. They don't understand how adherents of Shia Islam are eager and willing to embrace martyrdom and that Shia Islam has nothing to do with Wahabbist Islamic terrorism (sponsored by the U.S, E.U, and Gulf States). |
sofeo:For me Fadeyi will come out top for the reasons you stated. Besides, he is a great marksman too and does not miss from a distance. In fact, it took the combined effort of Orisabunmi and some elemental beings to defeat him in Arelu . |
KingAzubuike:Playing football back then was quite difficult because defenders could tackle you from behind and the ref would not make a call for an infringement. I can bet you that Messi and Ronaldo won't survive a season in Italy playing against the likes of Baressi, Maldini and Taribo West under such rules. They would end up in the hospital with no protection from the refs. Yes, football was really that brutal back then. For R9 to score 8 goals (2 in the final against Germany) in the 2002 world cup final, he cemented his place as truly the greatest striker of all time in the game. |
osazsky:Bros I salute oh! You na senior man, I swear. I've seen the highlight of that '78 final and it was truly fascinating. Maradona was left out of that team, but featured in the 82 edition with a lackluster performance before delivering an outstanding performance in '86. |
Couldn't have put it better than you did. Watch the U.S army and navy band's rendition of Fela's "water no get enemy." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx6k7kqK5kA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nzeWgxFDtM zicobaba: |
DatNiggaDaz:The Nigerian Army is a major problem in this country. They are good at performing psychological operations (terrorism, school cultism, banditry) against Nigerians and do not want to leave the street for the barracks, where they won't be relevant. Hence, the need to foster these problems and render the police useless in performing their duties so that they will still be called on to tackle the problems they deliberately created. It is like the U.S govt war on terror and drugs, when they created the terrorists and are the major dealer in drugs globally. Do you know how many young soldiers are on guard duties to hundreds of retired military officers scattered around the country, all in the name of securing their ogas' lives? So they are not understaffed. |
Ebenezer2021:It is really a pity. I go out these days wondering where most of the weird-looking creatures I see around come from. Most of them are not normal and pretend to be quite smart (of course, they have access to ICT more than other generations). So what passes for entertainment for most of them is completely gross and ludicrous to a sane mind. I guess if Jagz had put in a little effort to mime his own songs, it wouldn't have generated such uproar. Most Nigerian artists can't perform live on stage with live band, while free-styling. What they do is to play their original songs to which they then mime. Do you think Davido's father would ask him to play live for him during his birthday when presented with the choice of KSA, KWAM 1, or Ebenezer Obey. Same thing with Chief Wale Adenuga, Baba Adebutu, Obasanjo, etc. The truth is that these guys don't have the talents but only rely on synchronised beats. Lastly, Jagz is on some stuff stronger than hemp. However, Davido lacked respect for claiming to have the power to buy his life. Nobody has that power except God, who decides when it is time for all, whether old, young, rich, poor, black or White. |
Mariangeles:You're absolutely right. Seasonings have absolutely no nutritional value or health benefits and could trigger a lot of health issues in people. Many evidence of this assertion abound in literature. Airaodion, A. I., Ogbuagu, E. O., Osemwowa, E. U., Ogbuagu, U., Esonu, C. E., & Agunbiade, A. P. (2019). Toxicological effect of monosodium glutamate in seasonings on human health. Iris Publishers I prefer iru or ogiri. |
lordm:There should be no shame about that. Men make better chefs than women. World's top chefs are men by the way. |
My thoughts exactly. It sounds like a systematic act of piracy and brazen theft of Venezuelan oil. In a presser, Trump even mentioned that they will "keep the oil." Flangelo12: |

tafabaloo:Wao! How time flies. The Aramotu story was nerve-wracking and frightening, I must confess. Toba Opaleye's Itan Alimi Janganjanhan chronicles the crime-busting adventures of a street urchin named ALimi. Back in the University, the program was a must for me every Sunday. Those guys were legendary and knew their stuff quite well. |
Eating plenty of beans (especially Red kidney beans), exercise, and good restful sleep can really be of help against diabetes. "Obesity, inactive lifestyles, poor eating habits, aging, and genetic predisposition are generally considered as the risk factors of diabetes [3]. Nutritional and dietary interventions can play a greater role in managing hyperglycemia condition among diabetes. Reduction of the intake of carbohydrate foods made with refined wheat flour has been found to be an effective approach in controlling post-prandial hyperglycemia [4]. For this, increase in the consumption of beans of grain legumes is said to be remarkably helpful as they are excellent sources of protein and dietary fibre and provide many essential vitamins and minerals" https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Nazrim-Marikkar-2/publication/359156492_Biochemical_Study_on_the_Anti-Hyperglycemic_Effects_of_Coconut_Testa_Cocos_nucifera_L_and_Red_Kidney_Bean_Phaseolus_vulgaris_Seed_Coat_in_Streptozotocin-_Induced_Diabetic_Rats/links/622abc839f7b324634208e93/Biochemical-Study-on-the-Anti-Hyperglycemic-Effects-of-Coconut-Testa-Cocos-nucifera-L-and-Red-Kidney-Bean-Phaseolus-vulgaris-Seed-Coat-in-Streptozotocin-Induced-Diabetic-Rats.pdf |
Yekini was a delight to watch in those days. He doesn't need the ball on a plate for him to score a goal. Free-kicks, penalties, and scoring half-chances was his bread and butter back then. He was truly a legend and could have broken Lauren Poku's most goals in the African nations cup record if not for the ban imposed on Nigeria in 1996 and 1998. Back then, when listening to soccer commentaries on radio, the mention of Yekini's name means something important is about to happen, and he does not disappoint millions of fans nationwide. Watching the super-chicken play nowadays is tedious and a complete waste, and not worth the effort and time. A major problem with the current setup is our love for having foreign players not born in Nigeria represent us in soccer games. Players like Lookman, Balogun, Ekong etc don't understand what it takes to be Nigerians because they are not Nigerians and would rather player for their home country. The spirit and passion is lacking. Diversity and inclusiveness has killed the national team. RIP legend. |

The guy behind Zoranga is a fraudster. Please don't do business with them. I had a very nasty experience with them last year and lost #4000 as a result. |
They are scammers. Don't do anything with them. |
I've said it here before that gambling is a tax on fools. See a psychologist for counsel, open up to your wife and let her take charge of your family's finances pending when you are able to overcome it—which is not impossible to do. Wishing you the best. |
Someone once said, "Don't take life too serious, because you will never get out of it alive!" In fact nobody will. |
Someone once said, "betting is a tax on fools." The reality is that nobody can make a living from betting. Some do it for the fun and thrills, and are willing to part away with money they can afford to loose. My advice is for you is to put yourself together, go back to work and give your family a decent life. Crucially, stay away from gambling an betting! |

JohnnA1:Very devastating strike pair that was scoring for fun at the Copa America. Unfortunately, injury to Romario ruined that partnership. Rivaldo/Romario pales into insignificance when you see what these two guys did! |
Best strike force partnership ever: Ronaldo da lima and Romario (devastating dual trikeforce that was shorlived but was a reveleation at copa 97) Ruud Gulit and Marco Van Basten (AC Milan and Holland) Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke (Manchester United) Romario and Hristo Stoitchkov (Barcelona) Hazard, Oscar, and Mata (Mazaca) (Chelsea F.C)... Not a Chelsea fan, mind you. |

Integrafamoo:Very true! Most people use their date of birth as their PIN code, making it easy for the ATM card thieves to access their account. With the ATM card in their custody for that lengthy period of time, all they need do is try it on an ATM machine twice everyday without the machine seizing it. And it won't take long for them to access his account. People should avoid using their DOB as ATM PIN code! Random numbers that can be remembered easily should suffice in this case. |
