Crime / Re: Why I Don’t Like Nigerians By Robert Lindsay, A US Citizen by Seankay323: 11:32am On May 17, 2017
There are certainly a very large number of Nigerians that are good and upright in all their affairs but I do agree that values have long gone in Nigeria due to perhaps pressure from parents ,for kids to be successful or the kids themselves not being content knowing fully well DAT d more money u acquire legally or illegally d more respect and most times going legit is hard in Nigeria without connection or man know man. Even those DAT are supposed to keep crime in check look the other way sometimes which I don't think exist as much in other climes cos it gives others an incentive to think crime can pay if u HV this or that which shouldn't be. Ppl say on nigerian gals are bad but most of these guys still come from US to marry them Na and d guys DAT marry whites are most times told by parents to do so or pressurized to do so, or feel its easier to get a white gal. I HV been there I could HV dated 10 white gals if I wanted but wen u think half drink or smoke u run or could even cheat at the slightest chance some are good thou but if i find a naija good gal or white good gal which one I go pick Na? . I know some naija gals are money hungry but I realise DAT it is d same everywhere if a gal can't eat wot do u expect d guy does Yahoo ,d gal sells her body to d highest bidder or not. But a lot also don't,even from poor background s and these US based abroad come and carry dem. I say to myself out of all d gals in America u couldn't find 1 and u HV been there 20 years. The same america takes all our talent away and say we are stupid ppl d ones they gave residence permit nko to work their ass off for Americans ain't dey good ones? Yes our leaders are bad very correct , and most of their kids are abroad enjoying the loot of their parents. We know dem Na and some are oblivious to it DAT as nice as their parents are to them they are r killing a lot of ppl back home with their policies and actions. The best thing in Nigeria is just to HV small brain and start lil something prolly hope to grow cos ppl HV made it DAT way and were legit.I HV encountered a white almost beat me up for looking at him coming in my direction my white friend had to fight for me becos it was just for no reason he's like" wot u looking at" u know Na trouble be DAT but I didn't say all whites are racist , did i? My best friend was white self. I HV motivated him several times becos he almost lost it on several occasions but dude saved my life DAT day. So in this life just take everybody as dey come but don't say becos some1 is Nigerian I won't talk to him or white. U never know.

Car Talk / Re: How Petrol Attendants Cheat You In Filling Stations And Precautions by Seankay323: 11:52am On May 04, 2017
Like in everything if you don't check or monitor anything u will be cheated so its not like this is a special case but becos ppl blv this station owners make so much money they just can't even wait to think whether dey HV been truly cheated or not. Some of them are millionaires already, I think becos the attendants too are below most average car owner and sometimes they get assaulted for nothing. Nobody is guilty until proven wen someone steals 5 million dollars but wen it comes to maybe 500 naira u allegedly feel d attendant has stolen u first slap him or her den u call police sef. The best will be to have ppl fuel their cars demselves as it is done in other climes. Please try to encourage them wen next u visit a filling station or any business cos most of those attendants earn less Dan d minimum wage sef but dey chose not to rob but try to earn living and I know some are very bad no matter wot its like any other thing even ppl with masters steal more than some attendants sef. Report any infraction to d manager or sometimes look out for d complaints number to call or email. Some customers bring fake money to these guys sometimes or even abscond after filling up. No justification for stealing thou

Politics / Re: NNPC Reduces Petrol Importation By 45% Victory by Seankay323: 7:56pm On Apr 30, 2017
Saintp:
What difference does it make in the life of an average Nigerian? Fuel is still @145 of which many can't afford and this is part of what drove down the consumption. It would have made sense to me if the cost of fuel has reduced drastically.

We need practical progress that would translate into a better life for the man on the street and this is why this govt was elected. By 2019, we will look to see if the life of the man on the street is better off than what it was prior to 2015. So instead of fighting "wailers" with propaganda , govt should concentrate on delivering practical process not theoretical one.
Same man said the price will reduce in 6 months but wat has happened it has actually gone up. Why should we celebrate importation for Christ sake, dese importers o marketers could HV built a modular refinery in 6 months If they wanted to . Anywaz hope dangotes own would be less than 145 naira if not the man should just stop work on it.

Here are the 12 Factors that are responsible for delay in Npower December Salary

(1) Late update of applicants’ profile

Last year after Npower created a platform exclusively for those that made the first batch list of 200,000 successful applicants.

The platform was dubbed Npower Volunteers Network, NPVN.

Subsequently, applicants were directed to update their profile, including their account details.

While some successful applicants got the information on time, some others got it late.

If you are among those who updated your bank account details late December, or after Npower Team has collated bank account details of applicants, then you might experience late in payment or your December salary might be delayed.

(2) Conflict in applicant’s BVN and his account name

In a situation whereby you use your personal name, then use your husband’s account number and his BVN you will definitely experience delay. And if you didn’t make move to rectify the problem, you might not be paid.

The essence of BVN is to discover disparity in account number or similarities in fingerprint in cases of multiple accounts.

In a situation whereby you use Adek Musi during Npower application process, then you have Ghus Agbe as bank account details in your NPVN bank account details, then your payment will be withheld.

(3) Civil servant who applied for Npower

Reliable information at our disposal says some local government officials applied for npower and they made the first batch list.

These people already have BVN in place forgetting that Npower has been designed in alliance with BVN in such a way to detect those who are already in Federal, State, or Local Government payroll.

So if you fall under this category, you may have to forget your payment, unless you have other “dubious” means of manipulating the system.

(4) Failure to verify

Updating of your NPVN portal isn’t just the parameter for payment. You must also have been verified. If you didn’t participate in the verification exercise, but updated your bank account details on NPVN portal, you might not be paid.

The essence of the Npower verification was to cut, or reduce ghost-workers, which is one of the problems of government’s jobs.

State focal officer are in charge of collating names of verified applicants and forwarding such to Abuja for onward payment.

In a situation whereby you’re not verified, and your account is updated, you will not be paid.

(5) Did verification, but failed to update NPVN portal

Another obvious reason why you’re still not paid is your failure, after verification, to update your NPVN account details.

NPower team can’t pay into non-existing account. Verification isn’t enough for you to be paid, your account must have been correctly updated.

(6) Wrong BVN

If your BVN is not correct, you won’t be paid, or your payment might be delayed unless it’s corrected.

For now, you can’t edit your profile because the edit button has been removed temporarily for security reasons.

(7) Wrong account number

Even if your BVN does exist, but your account number isn’t correct you might experience delay in Npower payment until that discrepancy is resolved.

(cool Delay from your banks

A research carried out by our team shows that some banks are still withholding Npower payment.

Some of these banks include, but not limited to, First Bank, EcoBank, UBA, and Unity Bank.

We can’t reliably say what is holding the concerned banks from disbursing the money to those it’s meant.

For instance, none of the Npower applicants in Ipetu-Ijesa, Oriade LGA, have been paid at the time of putting this research work together.

Most of the affected applicants use First Bank because it’s the only bank in that town.

(9) Failure to follow npower instructions

Details involved in updating NPVN profile contain sensitive information. It’s advisable for successful applicants to personally update their NPVN portal, but some disobeyed the instruction.

They gave their details out to cyber café attendants to do it on their behalf. In the process, when mistakes were not made in BVN, they were made in account number.

At the end they complain they are not paid. But some of them later confessed that someone else handled the entire process on their behalf.

It was December salary, which was never expected by more than 50% of applicants, which made applicants to take the programme seriously.

(10) Late verification and deployment

Media aid to the acting president, Mr. Laolu Akande, emphatically says those who were verified and deployed by December would receive December salary.

State like Lagos had delay in verification. While some states had completed verification, deployment, and got their December stipend, applicants from Lagos state knew nothing about when and where the verification would hold.

Verification was carried out in Lagos State towards the end of January, 2017.

If the clarification made by Laolu Akande is implemented, Lagos Npower applicants might not be paid for December salary unless there is high power delegation from Lagos State Government to plead on behalf of the applicants since it wasn’t the applicants fault.

(11) Multiple NPVN accounts

Don’t be surprised. Some had their names shortlisted twice, but were detected during payment. Similarity in BVN, or conflict in accounts number/BVN is also one of the reasons why you’re yet to be paid.

(12) Late submission of verified list by Focal Officer in your state

Another likely reason why your npower salary could be pending is the failure of your state focal officer to forward the verified list to Abuja for onward processing of your stipend by the Finance Unit of the programme.

Whatever the reasons are, there will always be solution to any issue. For now, the applicant support number of npower is ineffective, no one can specifically explain why such a huge project like Npower cannot have phone numbers in place for applicants to verbally express their concerns.
Why didn't npower let married women know that they would HV to use their maiden name to apply for npower cos def their will be discrepancy in bank account name I opened when single and after marriage will I still use the same name haba. I feel their shld HV been a special
Way in resolving theirs and now ppl HV changed it at the bank but now npvn still shows maiden name? Can't they allow them change the account name on npvn portal since it has now been done at the bank? Infact miraculously date of birth changed itself. But its easy to blame the volunteers.

I concur. But Npower volunteers should also share the blame. Imagine someone using his brother bvn to register and he is expecting alert. Some their bank name is different from their NPVN name. The married women are the worst. Example, Bank name: Bola kate Tunde, NPVN name: Bola Fashola. Most of them failed NIBSS validation...

U say married women failed NIBSS, how many married women have changed their account details since dey got married? Why did dey verify dem knowing dat someone with a bsc certificate with name ade and an account surname or npvn name with fashola ain't the same person? Most came with an affidavit to show dat dey are genuine. Again, how are we sure all verified names were sent to Abuja? Does anybody have a copy of the names verified and sent to Abuja? How can government delegate ppl to verify genuine candidates den later tell dem dey are not genuine? Most ppl left the verification center(local government) thinking dey are verified, why did dey waste their time to go for the verification? We should demand to see the names sent or let ppl know their errors so dey can make amends.

Very good one. Chai this pppra dpr are all rogues(sm of the ppl) , dey go about harassing filling stations wheras where were dey wen people were claiming to have imported fuel and received billions dats just one company o. If fillings station owners made dat much won't dey all be billionaires now? But dey act like dey are saints please petrol shod not sell dis much ahan. Anything over 100 for petrol should be subsidized. Please if u can't pay subsidy then remove vague cost dat goes to this ministries or agencies. If pppl didn't import fuel will npa collapse? If no import will dpr collapse? Will pppra which should ideally collapse becos dey are devils advocate if our refinery worked efficiently will dey exist and if so will dey collapse if dey cut d cost associated with dem? Look marketers are used to low margins so it doesn't matter if u remove one naira or two from theirs it's based on volume but others like pppra dpr dey just take huge amount from source and for doing what making sure ppl dat didntimport fuel get billions? All dey know is buy fine cars live like warlords. Dat minister dat said petrol will reduce in 6 months were en dey? Should bury his head in shame dey think Mobil is like Nigeria dat u just sit down and say something and it happens . I think he is competent but he shld admit his wrongs. If price of fuel goes down life will be at least more bearable, cost of goods will go down at least. And wen dangotes refinery starts which is a year or two den u can stop d importation.
