Travel / Re: Fuel Queues Continue In Abuja Despite Nnpc’s Denial Of Fuel Price Increase by Seankay323: 10:41am On Dec 06, 2017
chloedogie:

But has DPR gone to the locked filling stations and discovered there are no fuel in their reservoirs? For them to lock up when they have fuel shows inhumanity we bring on ourselves. Those IPMAN guys are bunch of billionaires and see what they are doing to average Nigerians that can't boast of 5000 naira in their accounts. Very unfortunate sincerely. There are some things that shouldn't be heard of anymore in this country. Things like fuel scarcity sets us backward a lot and negatively impact out economy. Give licences out to as many rich business oriented individuals/companies that can afford it as possible. It pains me when there is a solution in front of us but we just keep moving around in a circle doing nothing.
oga which rich billionaires most of those guys made their money from other businesses or investments. The solution is the refineries need to be privatised and nnpc needs to hands off. No more turnaround maintenance crap. When there is so much fuel that the country needs there will be no scarcity and even due to other competing refineries , less price paid. Don't fight the wrong ppl , these guys are business men and if no profit after buying at depot for higher price do u expect them to sell at loss like government was doing when it was paying subsidy? Do u know how many marketers are in fuel business, all can't just wake up and agree not to sell fuel Na. There is def a disagreement somewhere so don't blame one party.

The only reason there was scarcity those years was because of subsidy and remember u paid below market price for those products brought in then. I bet if buhari didn't increase the price there would HV been scarcity before now. Buharis only saving grace is that ppl allowed the price increase which led to increase in cost of living . but kachuku said price will decrease after 6 months but it almost a yr plus since that statement and the price is still 145.

9jakohai:
Sad.

This could have been avoided if we had removed oil subsidy in 2012.

If we had done so, many of them marketers would have been deprived of free money from govt, forcing them to raise prices to earn profits, but eventually market forces/competiton would have forced prices down.

Because, with the subsidy regimen, marketers were earning 2 naira per liter in profits. That is why they engaged in scams, to earn profits.

Of course, what they did was wrong, and they must be punished severely. But if subsidy had gone completely, this issue would have never arisen.

Wey the market forces Na ? Is the price not the same since dey changed it. Guy this is nija if some ppl say it won't change it won't o. Only if govt builds or repairs its refinery to full capacity or more private ones are built before price can come down.

Some landlords are wicked too o, my brother paid rent of almost 1 mil and landlord didn't provide electricity for that year it got disconnected from the source due to disagreement between another neighborhood. Do u expect him to pay again for another year without compensation? He too has the right to not pay for one year or at most 6 months due to no electricity.

Hello npowerng,
I have written to you countless number of times but no single productive reply till last month. I was one of the beneficiaries whose profiles were erroneously adjudged absent by Npower even though we went for verification since January at Eti-Osa Local Govt of Lagos State. After many complaints and protests, it was last month npower chose to hear us out by re-presenting the master lists initially used for the verification, and they realised that we truly did verification at the fixed date. Immediately, our profiles were changed from "absent" to "qualified" but since then, we have not received single payment to that effect.
npowerng, what are u doing about this? When are we going to be paid or you want us to remain unpaid for the problem orchestrated by Npower?
Please, your timely response will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
God bless you for this.. My sis I took to eti-osa local government did her verification that day , then npower turns around to say its her fault that she hasnt being paid. God knows how many times they told her to do this or that all to no avail. Then we suddenly see absent status after 7 months. Naija I hail.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Thread On Payment Issues, kindly Identify Your Issues And Rectify Before 16th Oct by Seankay323: 8:35pm On Oct 12, 2017
My sis has absent as her status but was physically verified becos I took her there. How do we rectify that? It's highly unfair.. Npower just let the poor girl down by that sole action. Just remember that even if you lot set a deadline for wen kingdom come , we know she did verification that day but maybe sm1 swapped her name. Been told she sent countless emails but no response except for a request for her documents almost 3months now no response haba. No shaking every disappointment will be her blessing.

For those whereby something went wrong during verification , which no one is sure of , wot would be the resolution to such issues? No way forward? Disqualified? Or get back to us soon ?

What of those who appeared for verification but still has absent on their profile and never been paid? Last time I checked I was a Nigerian.. Went to the local government 7 times for nothing.

If you are not physically verified how will one receive posting letter? You don't get posting letter before physical verification do you? I was verified and have absent on my status and have never been paid , apparently those that did the verification did a shoddy job so please it isn't entirely true for all that have absent as their status were absent . we have gone round the whole country to prove this but all to no avail and you say people shouldn't vent and all details intact. Anywaz pls how do we send these documents for the millionent time. I appreciate the n-power effort and I know dey can't possibly be everywhere but please don't come across like you haven't screwed some things up.

From this screenshot it shows you have not been deployed?

Is he going to deploy himself ? Who's responsibility is it and why do some people get deployed without moving an inch and others have to run to aso rock to be deployed? It is obvious that the reason is that his name wasn't sent to abuja after verification hence non deployment, so don't give people the notion that its their fault.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Good Evening, Ask Your Questions In The Comment Section by Seankay323: 4:50pm On Aug 16, 2017
Some people were physically verified and told to go as normal but only to check their status on npvn as absent. If you assign people to do a job and they don't do it well and you then blame innocent people that thought the issue all along was bvn unmatch, running from pillar to post to resolve it , that is just wickedness. Please after physically verifying 2017 applicants endeavour to in return give them a proof that they can show in the future so as not to allow people manipulate the records at their own discretion.

if the deadline to apply ends before payment is made or those who npower decides to disqualify dose not happen before the deadline expires, dont you think it will be unfair to those that would be disqualified or not guaranteed to be paid knowing fully well they could have reapplied instead of waiting endlessly for payment to be made in batches?

MASTERS DEGREE IS A WASTE IN THE UK WITHOUT PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE IN THAT PARTICULAR FIELD. THOSE UNIVERSITIES AND THE UK I MUST SAY ARE JUST OUT TO RIP PEOPLE OFF IF THEY CAN. I WOULD ADVISE JUST TAKE THE SALARY IF U ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT LAW IF NOT LEAVE IT O AND FIND UR PASSIONS AND BUILD IT UP OR GET A BETTER PAYING JOB. I MUST SAY THAT GOING ABROAD IS NOT A WASTE , FORGET THE DEGREE THE EXPERIENCE OF LIVING ABROAD AND LEARNING NEW CULTURE , MIXING WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS FAR OUTWEIGHS THE NEGATIVE SIDE. U BASICALLY LEARN SKILLS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM WHICH ARE REALLY GREAT I THINK.

My sister's npvn account currently corresponds to her bvn details which was also verified by an Npower official via e-mail. Till date no payment since December which is quite frustrating. She and I have called severally about the payment issue but it always same old response that it is been resolved or payment in batches. How long will they wait for ? After d programme ends? Then u pay 1 month ? I commend the initiative but it is probably better for people to know if they are still part of the programme or not or a timeline given to know when d payments will be made.

It should be resisted by all means necessary. They should deduct 10000 naira from their salary to fund road maintenance. The fuel that is even too expensive and should be reduced as the price of other commodities will reduce. Absolute Joke!

Restore edit button in NPVN Portal, Volunteer urges Npower Team: One of the volunteers of FG’s Npower programme has called on the management of the scheme in Abuja to restore EDIT BUTTON back to NPVN portal of successful beneficiaries who have correction to make

“Restoring the edit button in corps portal will enable them make correction if necessary. That’ll make the work easy for npower officials and volunteers. ”

Shittu Manuel made the call on one of Npower Facebook Group.

No reason was given by npower for removing edit button from portals of volunteers, but security is perceived to be the cause of the action.

There were reports of account compromise last year and early this year when FG started paying volunteers.

A volunteer from Maidiguri told us this year that her e-mail was substituted by an uknown person. We suspected the cafe where she filled her on-line application form, though.

But Shittu is one among thousands of volunteers who have advocated for restoration of edit button back to the NPVN Portal.

What’s your take: should the edit button be restored or not?
If it was for that reason it shouldn't be restored as I noticed my bvn and date of birth was changed without my knowledge and I didn't use a cybercafe. I did advocate for it initially but for the aforementioned reason I support Npower on this.

I don't like fayoshe's style of governance but I'm with him on this one. Building petrol stations everywhere in residential areas without proper insurance should never be allowed.

These ipman people like blackmailing governments too much and something should be done to checkmate them asap.
Valid point about having insurance but petrol stations are built in residential areas in every part of the world.

What to do If you missed Npower Call

As parts of N-power's effort to make sure every voluteer is paid, the scheme team launched Call The Volunteers Phone Numbers.

The essence is:

To call,
To align the financial details and
To align NPVN details of Npower volunteers.

It's possible you missed the call, and it's painful when such happened.

Apart from that, the service could be bad when the call came in.

Unfortunately, you can't call any of the five new phone numbers back when you missed the call, or the service was bad.

The phone lines have been configured not to receive calls so they'll be able to quickly as possible call and resolve challenges faced by unpaid volunteers.

What can I do if I missed Npower call?

1. Send a text message to the specific line that called you, or the call you missed. I told you in one of our articles that you should store all the 5 dedicated lines as:

Npower1
Npower2 etc so that you would be able to know you missed an important call whenever you did.

2. Send your details to the number and state that I'M UNPAID N-POWER VOLUNTEER,  I MISSED YOUR CALL!  COULD YOU PLEASE CALL ME BACK? THANKS. STATE YOUR NAME.

Those who have been called will be part of the ongoing backlog, if npower official was able to sufficiently verify or correct the details they submitted.

That's all!
Wot about those that have had their issues resolved by helpdesk but still unpaid ,should they also expect to be called?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: N-POWER Lagos State Let Us Meet Here! by Seankay323: 11:12pm On Jun 01, 2017

Dangote's refinery can produce over 55 million per day

Dongote refinery alone is enough to take care of our needs.

Not that we don't need more refineries, but Dangote alone exceeds our needs.

At what price should be the question? If it is not lower than 145 mk dangote close the refinery. Hopefully it will cos it crude is sourced locally but at international rate. Wen DAT time come we go see..
