Since dangote is building a mega refinery what is government business with fuel importation or refining. The reason is because we HV mother's and fathers working at the refinery , d same ppl that will complain naija is bad that won't let it happen becos to them na govt work. Ordinarily once dangote refinery is done all the govt refineries should be sold completely or partially.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Spends N10trn On Petrol Subsidy by Seankay323: 10:20am On Apr 02, 2019
Subsidy will go when dangote is done y'all should chill. The raw materials are partially owned by NIgeria(crude oil) so you don't necessarily have to import the raw materials ,the only impediment will be refining cost which might shoot up cost but I think dangote will try to at least compromise if he government is willing to at least reduce the cost in any way they can which is a win win. We HV been subsidizing for almost 2 decades I am sure we can wait another year or two for the refinery to be complete. Also more refineries will be built in order to compete.

Some NNPC workers work more than multinationals for less pay. let's be honest how many nnpc staff do u hear that can sponsor 4 kids abroad without corruption?. To start with dey dont get paid enough except when u get to managerial level after like 20years or so. A lot of them get killed on duty from experience. When there's is pipeline break or vandalism do you think its Total staff that repair them? Also you are right tribalism exist in NNPC chai , if you have Hausa boss all hausa must enjoy during his/her term. But the connect u can have working there is crazy. Governor can be your close friend. Only strong men work there o u can't be ajebo at all... U can't work for NNPC and not be street smart because u would have worked all over Nigeria at one point. See as they give kachukwu level u want to come and spoil business for boys wey don almost die for duty , dis no be Mobil o some NNPC staff no get AC for office sef.

We desperately need FDI into this country because they will empower , employ youths etc. The reason why they ain't coming as quickly is due to infrastructural decay. Electricity, road construction, rail etc is what this government should focus on but I guess all this can't happen overnight due to the bastards that messed up this country for 16 years, please PDP has no right to accuse PMB of anything. To build a football stadium takes 2or 3 years not to talk of rail. Ok did PDP build rail in 5years? Did PDP fix power in 5 years ? How many roads were constructed in 16 years? See PMB is d best right now and he has performed below expectation
but atiku had 8 years to do his job , most people don't get more that 3 chances in life so why should he feel he's the best for now. Infact we should change president every 4 years until it gets to my turn.

Is that Bad? The truth is unless we fully deregulate this sector there is not going to be any ending to fuel scarcity

They may be delaying it waiting for dangote to finish his refinary so the effect won't be much

Infect we need to tax petrol users 50 naira extra for road maintenance

See this country won't develop until we tax Nigerians enough to make them demand accountability

That's over 450bn per year... That can take care of a good portion of our roads
Lol so they can embezzle again . Guy we are not in America or Europe where taxes are used judiciously and accounted for so that suggestion won't fly with Nigerians. Yes I believe we need to wait for Dangote refinery before any debate on Deregulation or not, although its most likely the sector would be deregulated after the completion of the project. Infact it will make absolutely no sense for anybody to import if dangote can produce below the cost of importation. Then other refineries will spring up. All the senators and whatever they call themselves and ppl in government eating 1000 ppl's salary monthly need to give up half their entitlements before any increase of fuel and they know it. Mr kachukwu with all the experience was made useless by cabals in government.
Politics / Re: Disregard For Rule Of Law Worst Corruption Than Stealing Of Public Funds– Stuart by Seankay323: 11:54am On Oct 23, 2018
Having being abroad and lived and living in Nigeria , I have concluded that our problem is leadership , nothing else. I always argued that the followers are also to blame but let us be honest you can't give what you don't have. Many people who are eligible to vote in Nigeria are poor and ignorant , a lot don't know how important their votes are beyond collecting money from any aspirant. The leader with all the tools available should empower the followers by first providing the basic needs and making sure these needs are affordable. If 10 million people are elite and I presume enlightened and 20million are ignorant then the majority will always have a bigger say in any election by way of inducement. Many elites don't even like this country but the only reason they are here is likely due to their work or what they can take out of Nigeria rather than what they can give back. How can people like atiku dare to want to rule us again ,I don't want to say buhari is a failure alone because it is a government not one person , if u say the buck stops at his table and he does something drastic then you say o no you have the legislature and judiciary , so I would say the government is a disgrace all of them. To think atiku is the only major opposition is sad and for conscience sake I would rather vote another party who put forward a more credible leader.

theoldpretender:

Yes, it isn't because APC does not want to lose power.

When GEJ increased fuel price from N65 to N140 and then to N97...some people used that as their reason for voting himout.

The truth is, NO NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT WANTS TO REMOVE FUEL SUBSIDY COMPLETELY.

They would do partial removal, hope for things to get better....until the economy makes the new price limit unrelaitic.

Whereas if Bubu was remoiving subsidy completely.....it won't be NNPC controlling prices...it would be the marketers. And since most of the fuel we use in this country is imported (and even if it was not, the way we are going...most refining capacity in this country is going to be private)....prices will go up to N200 and above.

Meaning...what happened in 2012 would be child's play. There would be revolution....and they know it.

I've seen this game played several times since millitary rule...and even during civilian rule.

Better to keep subsidy , with all the attendant corruption in place...and with the way it shortchanges marketers and promotes massive job loss....than deregulation and possible revolution.

But the truth is, if I was head of state...I would deregulate...and watch as foreign investment flows in, and jobs are created...because that means that marketers would be making a profit. Problem is...benefits take time to manifest...and Nigerians aint patient.
Oga subsidy cannot be removed o. Its better we call for revolution than remove it. When dangote is done building his refinery then it can he removed. If it goes up it will not come done in Nigeria even if oil price falls to 1 dollar. Its only nnpc that can sell at the lowest price if it is removed because they are part of government. Government will frustrate others out of competing. it is better the refinery comes so on stream as government can't compete by still importing but can choose to build theirs in order to compete. Just my opinion
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Are Most Nigerian Graduates Unemployable? by Seankay323: 4:08pm On Sep 21, 2018
The ones that are employable nko how HV they transformed the economy , in naija everyone is just about how to take care of their pocket nobody wants to sacrifice for the good of the nation. Why is it that politics or knowing someone politician is the easiest way to wealth in Nigeria. If you like bring elon tusk to Nigeria , I bet you the system will frustrate him. Do you know Nigerians are one of the smartest in the whole I dare to say next to Chinese but most are just unfortunate to be in this country. There are unemployable people everywhere in the whole.

I think the title is a little bit misleading, this isn't the first petrol station the Lagos State government will be acquiring and demolishing to make way for bus park, how many of them have you heard sued the Lagos State government ?

Lagos is a civilised state, the government can't just demolish buildings cos they want to. It's more of Lagos State paid the owners some decent Amount to make way for the parks. A government can't just demolish or acquire properties without due process

Need a digital marketing and website design company? Contact us
Oga good you made this comment o, because if it was my station I built with my money o boy smdy is going down with me o. Make I blow the station sef e better than government just waking up to demolish my building after paying building control and land use.
Career / Re: NUPENG Begins Strike In Warri by Seankay323: 7:37pm On Sep 07, 2018
theoldpretender:

And the solution is simple.

Allow marketers sell fuel at the price they want to sell.

Keeping fuel prices low is one of the reasons why oil companies cannot make enough money to retain staff, which is why they get sacked.

You want low price for fuel marketers, yet if you were a businessman you won't like it if government forces you to sell at low prices, and you cannot make enough to replenish stock, and pay your workers adequately.

Better back deregulation. Worked for GSM, and it will work for petroleum sector.

And NUPENG won't go on strike, and fuel flows at Xmas.

Deregulation should not be backed when there are no functional refineries on ground. If deregulation happens today price will go up and never come down I can bet with you because they all will import by sea not some by air , so the price will likely stay high for a very long time and some ppl will have died by the time it comes down. Only the rich will benefit for now , remember when the minister said if they increase to 145 it will go down in 6months due to competition? Has it after 3years? When Dangote builds his refinery they can deregulate because by then it now depends on your agreement with the company and Dangote will likely have franchise stations(just supplier not own) that will compel others to sell at a low price and be the market leader. It will then compel oando to build his to compete and total and all other oil companies. Some oil companies will feel they can even be more efficient than dangote in order to sell low. Unions will be always be there o if they can shut the whole country down because of a dispute with a company then deregulation has no effect if people willing choose to be part of nupeng or any group I might be wrong on this thou.
